this was SO incredibly cozy😊 i loved this! I just doodled, and scraped paint in my journal while hanging out here! no big projects for me atm, just play 😄✌️ I think florals up close can look a lot better when they're fluid and imperfect i've found. maybe you could loosen up the sketch somehow? or perhaps dont sketch at all, and just embrace whatever happens?💘 which is my personal favourite lol! i think just painting them a few times till you figured out how you like to depict them is also a valid path! perhaps a combination of it all😊 i've heard of these books! i think it's so fun that a lot of us with asd/adhd end up on the witchy side of things. Dude thank you so much for your comment and thoughts here, it pulled me back out of my head this morning and I needed it 🥹🩷 What you said about loosening up really made something click, I had not realized just how tight I was working and how tight I felt :0 I think I was nervous to paint something new and "mess" it up! Not only that but I absolutely agree loose florals are always the most fun to me when I do paint plants, and I should just embrace it! I am so happy you are just enjoying yourself and letting yourself explore and play!! It is so important! I think the timing is hilarious, because this week that is ALL i have been able to do, and I am just trying to deal with the discomfort 😤 I think it can be easy to not realize we haven't just "relaxed" and all until our body or brain just says no to literally everything we usually do lol. It has been a good week though and you inspire me ❤️ I 100% have noticed a lot of us asd/adhd folks do lean to spiritual practices and witchcraft! I know I need it and it gives me some peace and comfort in the natural world and cultivating my intuition in just trusting myself more you know? @@kittuffincafe im so glad my timing was impeccable 🥰🫶 sometimes i feel a bit guilty when a vid sits in my Watch Later playlist for a little while. it's easy to forget it could simply be the right time for it once i DO watch it!! isn't it so funny how you can sorta forget sometimes you thought was already ingrained? especially when doing something out of our comfort zone! i hope you have the Most fun being loose and playing with florals soon🖌️🎨🌻 yeahhh, i know what that feels like. I had to really retrain my brain to enjoy just playing and not be so obsessed with "progress". which always just was technical progress, when there's so many different ways we could progress!! i relate so much to the not realising we hadn't been relaxed. but i think it's especially hard to realise when it's something we do for relaxation usually 😩 really glad to hear you had a good week though!!! Yeah, i was into the spiritual world before i even knew i had audhd, and many of my witchy friends have recently realised it too. It helped me sooo much feeling at ease in the world, and to also trust my own intuition. i think it would've taken me longer to realise if i hadn't started working on that prior to it💞 it's totally my pleasure, thank you for connecting with me and being so open and vulnerable 😭💓 much love!!

The curlies were really fun to paint too ☺️ Kuretake paints are so awesome!! The green gold is probably my most used color from them 🤣 sometimes the sets go on sale on amazon, I waited a long long time before deciding on them, the bigger one is I think the 48 set? you were one of the people that inspired me to start my channel😊 ive only recorded a flip through and a couple shorts- not very good but I've learned perfectionism was stopping me from uploading at all!!! i just want to be a more active part of the art and journaling community. i love it here 😍 i also have hypermobile eds, mcas, t1 diabetes, autism, adhd, pots probably, and so much chronic pain I haven't been able to use my arms in years😮(until about 6 months ago when i could hold a pen again!) and phone editing is much better for me too! i haven't been able to game on my pc in just as many years, which is how i used to spend my time, and now i just want to share my art that is giving me another lease on life, you know?😊 it feels much less lonely, too. just doing this to have fun! and im proud of my 36 subscribers, that's a lot of people wanting to know what im up to 🥰 anyway, word vomit aside, i just wanted to thank you for sharing your art and thoughts on these things, it's lovely to know im not alone in this💘 and your art is SOOOO CUTE and comforting!!! OMG yes! When I was a girl I always used to imagine a unicorn running along beside the car when we went on long trips. Or put myself into the paintings on the wall at Aunt Flora's house. There was one that was a painting of a path disappearing into the woods, I'd imagine what I'd find if I walked that path. Thanks so much for these tips, I don't know why I got out of the habit of doing those things, but they will help when things just become Too Much.

Not to be a doofus but honestly I guess volunteering a couple times to paint at the Rennaissance Faire and having hundreds of people come up and talk to me while I paint and having to keep painting while I talk to them helped 😅 The nice thing about a camera is you can pause and take breaks too! ;) I do relish the moments where I just draw hunched over like a goblin in a pile of blankets though 😤👀 🦐 <~~my back

Thank you for making this video! I've wanted to try the artist's way for many years but with my various disabilities it feels so inaccessible and rigid. Of course I am used to adapting things to work around my needs but with this I was worried that so much adaptation would be required that it would no longer serve its purpose or be useful, especially with regards to the morning pages. Hearing that you've made it work for you is hugely motivating and maybe adapting it can work afterall :) Your illustrations are so cute btw.
Oh! You are so so welcome! I am really glad this could give any hope and be of some help and support! I 100% feel it is still beneficial when adapted, I think in my time with the Artist's Way and the morning pages, having that intentional output and expression so you can process your thoughts, feelings and unclog the creative mind is the biggest part of the morning pages, so any way we can do that, that feels right for us, gives the same effect ☺️ I am rooting for you and so excited, thank you so much again for sharing and being here! 🩷 and thank you on the art compliment! ☺️💐
@@kittuffincafe Your method of doing the morning pages by verbally putting them out into the world gave me the idea of using a speech to text app so I'm going to give that a try :D I think I forget that the book was written before people were a bit more aware of being inclusive and so I shouldn't see the lack of accessibilty to mean "this isn't for you" but rather just chalk it up to it being a little dated and do what I need to do in order to adapt it. You make such a great point that is so easy to forget, that there are methods or practices made before people were more inclusive, and even nowadays with new ideas or approaches to creativity or development, people like us can be forgotten--I think it is rarely intentional-- but you are so right that we can adapt and self advocate bt finding a way that works for us and sharing it! ☺️ text to speexh is such a great idea!! I use it for texting and sometimes to get a lot of ideas down quickly, I will have to try it for journaling too! Thank you so much! I hope this is going well for you! ☺️🩷
I have such a difficult time thinking of creating as something I can do a bit of, put aside, and come back to later. Side effect of hyperfocus and perfectionism, I guess.😅 Thank you for sharing this! Hopefully it will help me not get in my own way so much…!

Honestly I was thinking about not even posting it since it is just the bit of a sketch, It is just all I had the energy for this morning and it is so cool that it could do anything for someone! 🥰 I have plenty of projects pending, a few paintings waiting, and it is hard when we WANT to work on them but just aren't in the spot to. I feel like the perfectionism hits hard when we loose steam after being so focused on something and feel like we can't come back to it because it won't be the same or won't turn out 😅 I think leaving small sketches or paintings and coming back to them helps me be a bit less intimidated, or believe that, "hey I can finish things at a different pace and look how it turned out! " Sending you suppprt and good feelings in your creativity and projects ☺️💞 thank you!!!
