There is always this balance to find I think, especially as someone who is interested in gear. Of course it can inspire ideas, but it's not always necessary. I learned to play/produce in the box, finding myself going back to it more recently. Also your music is now added to my playlist, great listen dude!
Very nice beats! 😊 I've subscribed to stay updated with your musical journey! 😉 I enjoyed listening to what you learned and how you gracefully accepted your life obligations while still managing music making. The balance is key😌 I've been pushing my creative boundaries collaborating with others to test my abilities in composing uniquely. These kinds of self-tests are beneficial!
Hi Matt, when recording the Nord piano with the Apollo, do you use any plug-ins when recording (pre-amps, compressor, .. ) and are printed? All the best, Jannick
Hey Matt, great space there, thanks for this video. I have a question on the mic stand: the video caption states you're using a LatchLake 3300, while the video description mentions LatchLake 2200. Which one you're using? I'd also like to get right of multiple stands around the piano and your solution seems perfect.
Thanks for watching! It's the 2200 🙏🏼 It's a great solution, but also pretty pricey! I've been trying a couple of different setups since this video. Let me know how you get on 😀
Hey!! Loved your vibe!! We need to colab one day for sure!! Question: Which microphone is that? I've seen it around but don't know which one is it. Does it work well for recording in an untreated space? Thanks so much for your vibe!!!
That's the mechanical sound of the Rhodes MK1! Noisy in the room (camera mic). I even installed the 'miracle mod' which makes it a bit quieter than it was before 😅
You are great. A skilled and talented artist. Just skip those boring and generic programmed drums (so called beats). Find a groovy drummer instead. Maybe a bassist. And as a prophecy says: free your mind and your ass will follow! Greetings!
Forgive me for the dumb question, as I am new to Ableton Push (literally just purchased Saturday), but how are you able to play the VST drum kit like a drum rack on the unit (i.e. the 4x4 block of pads instead of scale notes across the Push)? Does it automatically load that way? Thanks and great tips in the video.
Great question and awesome responses! As the this kit by Teletone uses Kontakt Player, there was a little bit of a workaround needed to be able to customise the drum layout. The kit uses ‘general midi’ which is a typical layout assigned by developers. Happy to help further on IG if you have more questions 😃✨🙏🏼
Good question! They’re ultra low latency and don’t compress audio. So if I’m finger drumming or playing midi keys I don’t notice anything - pretty cool 😃
@@mattwildemusic I looked them up. They claim 16 millisecond latency which is very usable for certain things (like finger drumming or playing midi keys) but still too much for playing guitar, bass or singing. Above 10ms is perceived as an echo. We can calculate (based on 1130 feet per second speed of sound) a 16ms delay is like having your guitar amp 18 feet away. It's quite noticeable. And when singing or speaking the physical sound in your head will combine to produce an annoying "doubling" effect. So I'll deal with a cable. 😐
Hey Matt! I'm in love with the color of your movies. How do you color grade your videos? Do you use Davinci, premiere pro or something else? Amazing videos man!
