Hey whats up? Welcome to the channel. The name is X.E.L. OHH (X dot.... E dot.... L dot ....Oh) I do videos on production software and hardware. I have videos that show how to use different VST's and DAW on computers and tablets. Please join me by liking and subscribing the channel . I currently drop new videos once a week. Let me know if there is anything that we can cover and I will see if I can help. Thanks
The drum sampler has the 2 rows for each pad because the top one is the group settings and the botton is the sample itself. You can add multiple samples per pad. And each one would have it's own controls but share the same parent. Afaik, these samples are not layered but played in succession, like 1 pad hit = sample 1 and 2nd pad hit = sample 2.
@@XELOhh1 I was wrong about it only supporting round robin, though. You can set it to all at once (so layering all the samples), round robin, and random.
@@omannpro agreed... I like the samplers no problems with them just need sto e able to adjust and make your own slices in the sampler and add the portamento so we can do slides in Waveform.. thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
Hi. Thank for the video. Question: no gain control for inputs 3 and 4? Does it means that 3 and 4 inputs are not suitable for electric guitar, acoustic guitar line signal or bass ? The signal coming out of a electric guitar, bass might be not enough to have decent recordings from 3 and 4 inputs?
Good points: MK3 has a sound card built in and a new Push 2 is more expensive than a new MK3. Lastly I like the fact that you can use the MK3 with Ableton software. Thanks.
My man, thank you a bunch for going straight to the point. You really helped using my Keylab MKII as a midi controller in Reaper. This video is gold for me.
It doesn't seem to be very intuitive compared to other DAWs I have used. I also notice that you seem to have to move your mouse all over the place to do simple things that should all be in one place. I am going to give it a try anyways, since several folks have said good things about it. Thanks for the excellent walk through!
@@24hrMusic thanks for watching... There are things that kinda seem out of place that's due to all the DAWs I use.. everything always seems to be out of place..😂 it does have a learning curve that you have to get use to they have things in different places and setup different ways but I will go over them soon... Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
This is actually a very intuitive DAW, you have multiple ways of doing the same thing, which is amazing for beginners. When you get to know the DAW you can close half of those windows, it's not as messy as it seems.
@XELOhh1 have You tried Reason 12 or the latest version, that's another great DAW that doesn't have luck on its side, it have a lot of features and great Mixing and production plugins, even if I want to leave Cakewalk after 20 years, I would chose between Cubase and Reason.
You're doing Great Brother, thanks, and about Cakewalk Sonar, I don't understand what they're doing ,though I love some new features that they add now but it's yet to stable ,tbis is one of the reason Am holding on to My Tutorial Videos, I want to take time to see something better, I Am still expecting them to add most of old plugins, and I expected it to have been more stable at ones, somethings happened ,during the current project Am working on, I suddenly discovered strange signal in some of My wave clips wich some times a pitched note like cheap monk and that was another project clip sounding in another one and tbis happened several times . 2. When You drag and drop into FX Chain Rack, that which We used to create along with Pro Channel EQ and Console Emulation, it qould go into FX Send instead (Side Chain). But it manages Processor well, meaning it does not consume PC strength like CBB ,I love it for that, another thing is its better Audio Engine, it sounds more cleaner, overall I would love Sonar to be far and fast improve to take back its position.
kind of odd that their instruments and the dawesome stuff is well known but there is not much content on their DAW. I know their UI is kind of getting used to. May give it a go (Got 11-13 oem free)
@@daviHuggMonster that's what's up... I agree it has a learning curve with not much info on how it works... Still trying to figure out a workflow myself .. 😂
Just saw your post on Facebook about waveforme...I was wondering if you were about to make an video about free tool....thanks for all your video you help me a lot on CB!!!
@@matthieuvespasien443 that's what's up... Glad you got something out of the video... I will be doing more videos on Tracktion Waveform for sure... Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
Just wait until you hit those per-clip effects. One of my favorite features. Add separate effects to audio clips instead of the full track to create variations of the audio.
@@XELOhh1 Not sure if that pricing will ever come 😕 I used Sonar (X3/Platinum) for many years. I was happy BandLab resurrected it, but I never liked the BandLab format. So I’ve been using the same Platinum version I had back in 2017, LOL. Best overall DAW, imo. I’ve used Cubase and Logic Pro. Sonar still better for me.
Do some duets with people some of them are doing acapellas just work with them like that to start... Then other will start to ask you to do tracks for them as well it's a cycle but you have to be on it.
Is there any way to automatically remove gaps between clips? In our radio production when we record speech we would like to have clips next to each other after the silence is removed. Logic has a function called "Shuffle Left", what about Cakewalk?
@@XELOhh1 Thank you. It looks like Ripple Edit works when I select part of clip and delete it. Then it moves the following clip right next to position where the gap would appear. But when using Remove Silence, Ripple Editing doesn't work for me. I can use Ripple Edit All or Selection. It just leaves those gaps where the silence was removed :(.
Hey X, I was wondering when you are going to review the new sampler that's been added to Sonar, XSampler? I know you and I have been begging for one for quite a while now. It's pretty basic, but it's something they can build upon in the future.
It the one only through subscription right now... I just found out the on subscription is an official release so I haven't tried it out at all.. hopefully if they come out with a perpetual version I can get it and go from there.. but we shall see..😀🙏🏾
Gräm dich nicht...es muss hier in der Traumwelt eben auch Spinner geben - Übermorgen erzählst du sowieso wieder etwas anderen Quatsch. 🤣 Wir mögen dich trotzdem. 😃❤
Did you download the add on instruments.. SI Drums.. strings.. bass and electric piano i think it comes with that download unless they got rid of it already..🤔
Excellent video, thanks. We loved Cakewalk but bailed during the Gibson/Bandlab thingy and switched to Studio One paired w ACID/Samplitude for loops n beats. 3 DAW's vs 1 Cakewalk,basically--
I was one of the very first to get Cakewalk 6.0 I wound up having to use SONAR, which I don't like, because it's a battle to get anything done, I get the impression they were more concerned with looks, than anything else.
Xel, what I believe CWbB has done badly is leave us all in the lurch for so long about become paid for. What are they playing at? Everyone's waiting. Xel, my music is guitar based and industrial. But It's also Irish folk now and again ;-) Much love and thanks for every damn video you make x
New viewer, new to the DAW/production scene. I picked up Bitwig Studio and it is super powerful but not intuitive to me. I don't want a subscription. What would you recommend for a complement to Bitwig?
XEL I know you said that Cakewalk has been working on this for a year - well at least the BETA version with pricing and such not being revealed. Now then, I KNOW you know that it's been going on three and maybe four years since the announcement was made. Frankly, I'm tired of waiting for it. BUT I AM going to stick with the updates to the Cakewalk version they keep rolling out. Then after that, I'm not upgrading to Sonar much less Next. I'll stick with the free version since I have no intentions of updating my computer which is only about 3 years old now but I upgraded the memory and other features. Everything works now, is stable and there's nothing wrong with it. I have all the VST libraries I ever need or want and everything is running fine. There is nothing I'll need (at my age) so updating, upgrading especially to subscription services just isn't worth it to me. I DO sub to MUSIO but that's Cinesamples and I love that company and all that they offer. And I was among the very first to sub to it so the price is still reasonable. I chose NOT to go the lifetime because I'm 77 and who knows how much longer I'm going to be around to do this stuff. But it's great orchestral stuff and I like them. I have too much OTHER stuff that needs cleaning out. So as long as Cakewalk free works, I'm good for the rest of my time in the game.
let me throq my tqo cents here if i may : CKEWALK is a cursed daw ...why cursed : well first it got wrecked by gibson and now it got wercked by BL .... honestly sying i stoped using even the ancient old Cakewalk BBL i i am not gonna buy it even if they finaly make it available with a good efortable prise. Honestly there are a whole lot of better Options and 3 of them my absolute favorite: 1- Ableton Live 2- Bitwig 3- Cubase yes those have a prisetag on them but you know what ? what is music all about and why dooes anyone make music ? hobby ? well you have at least with Bitwig a good enough prise so that you can keep the hobby on going ...or you go grab Presonus ST 1 artist ...good rnough for making music as a pure hobby . and if in whatever way the music gathers some around you interested on your music, you can go over to Belton Suite or Cubase Ultimate : if you sell a single some 100 times or 1000 or maybe more times, you see that you actualy can make a living out of it and noone who erans some 5000 or more per month , will care about some 200 USD or EU right? there is no reason for me to stay with Cakewalk allthough its still free and less a reason for me to actualy pay em any sort of money for doing the same shit as did gibson back in the day. Right now i own ST1.6 Artist and you know what ? i can do all i can with the free cakewalk and more for those 89 euros i spent on it and if at any given time i come to a point where i can effort Ableton or Cubase or Bitwig i am not gonna give any money to a daw that is and will be available only via sub. im done with cakewalk for good and the last time i used it is more then a year ago....
@@shan5445 yea you could be right... But it's missing so many things now.. it was ahead of everyone now they are trying to catch up and dragging there users with them for the ride. Next will work on Mac but will that be enough I don't know...🤔 Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾
Yeah. It was history thing going back to Windows 95. The competition on Mac was too strang with Logic Pro Audio and Cubase. Cakewalk saw a market with PC. In all honesty it was all shit from software and hardware in 1997 on a PC.
@@BopsStudios Reaper is 60 for a license and I did purchase that... I like Cakewalk to record vocals I think it's one of the best I have used when it comes to just recording... I didn't learn until later on that you can make beats and do production in the DAW ... And it was free and was a lot smoother and better looking than Reaper until I found out about themes in Reaper I think that changed everything for me then found out that I can make Reaper work how I want it to work.. it was game over...😂
@@j.ciloafasho really there isn't one .. Cakewalk does things a certain way .. you can make Reaper close to Cakewalk but you have to set it up it's not like you open it and your ready a lot of things need to be set up .. Cubase is kinda close but the short cuts and work flow are really different... But just to try DAWs to see how they flow I would say Traction Waveform and Reaper... I have videos showing how to get Reaper to function like Cakewalk and also have a configuration file that you can download to get you setup... Hope this helps..😀🙏🏾
I paid for the subscription for a month to check it out. Sonar is Cbb with added features. It worked just fine. But I totally agree with you about this year's long wait. A year ago, Cakewalk said Sonar was coming soon. Soon? I've been saying that this wait is like being spaghetti-fied into a black hole, just getting strung along. I don't know if they miscalculated how long it would take or they ran into unforeseen issues or what. But as far as the pricing, you gotta feel like they know what it will be. If it's a one time license, I'd say $199-$399, with maybe a studio and producer options like the old Cakewalk used to have. But I'm with you, I'm not paying for a subscription. I did it just for a month because I was curious. If it is a subscription, I'll use Cbb until they take it away and then decide where to go next. Thanks for keeping us up to date and being a voice for all of us in the community.
@@abc456f that's what's up... There are so many DAWs right now as I showed a couple in this video and they a priced very well.. just hope Cakewalk will do the same but we shall see .. tha is for the comment...😀🙏🏾
