Love the tape dope. Way better. I’m just sticking my masking tape to cheek piece right now, not that it would stick to my tropical sweaty arms anyway, and not that I use it much yet, as haven’t even really started training. Still paying tinker with the gun for a while 🤣 Airguns are quirky and finicky as chit. Look into “Foundation Training.” You already have a base understanding of how important your hip position is. This will 1,000% increase the strength of those shooting positions.

100% index those liners. People way overcomplicate it. FX already has a tiny factory mark on them, but just set the windage turrets to 0, shoot twice for validation of POI, rotate the liner and repeat until you are 100% straight with your 0 windage and put little marks at 12 on both your barrel and liner. My liner could shoot up to 4 MRAD off at 30 yards if you just stuff it in there! Yeah you can adjust it out with the scope but it’s still going to make a difference the further out you go. Someone as good as you.. just makes you that much better!! Marginal gains can/do make a difference between Gold and Silver at the top level.

Well obviously the carbon fibre cylinder isn't available because either r&d has not yielded performance they are happy woth yet or they are not yet able to manufacture in large enough numbers. Cannot be anything else, Im not a genius and I understand that. Why mention it? To calm down the trolls looking at the 230bar max fill and saying theat's not for them
@Competitiveairgunning
@Competitiveairgunning 20 дней назад
It’s not complicated to comprehend why it’s not out, what ever the excuse it’s irrelevant. To say it will be available then seeing sponsored shooters using them in videos while also running them at competitions isn’t fair to customers because it’s not available with zero update. This is a very expensive rifle marketed to be an out of the box competition rifle and with a 230bar fill it is not unless you are slinging slugs that puts you at a disadvantage.

@@recklessjunkie I know the plenum shroud on my panthera was locked down hard. But since that’s the air tank I would think it’s treated more like a bottle and most likely has lock tite. When I pulled the plenum shroud off my panthera I put my gun between my legs and held it with my knees so I could get a good twist with both hands. I’d be careful though since that’s the bottle. The main air tank should be drained if the plenum is drained. I am hoping since mine is new it will seal up and I don’t have to fix it or send it in. Second I did have to buy an angled monomer bracket and gauge and install it but you have to drain the complete rifle from unscrewing the pressure gauge and back off the reg like the other guns for plenum side and also pull out this rubber stopper under the set screw one the plenum they don’t mention any of that. Another thing weird is the baby cocking handle I put on one from an m3 I had laying around can’t believe they would ship the pro without a bigger cocking handle? I haven’t experienced a POI shift all year, I’ve just taught myself to be more cautious when I am moving positions.

The PRS side is much more creative. The NRL everyone gets to practice the COF and shoot it as many times they can in a month and the COF are always fairly simple (the bonus stages are the only ones that can get tricky). The PRS no one gets to shoot any COF ahead of time and the match directors set ups can be as easy, hard, confusing or tricky as they want. That being said most of them are take into consideration the weather when setting up their courses and also pay attention to how many new shooters there are so it’s not to advanced. None of these match directors want anyone to not have a good time or struggle on to many stages.

Good shooting...Side bar - how often are you cleaning? I have noticed up to a 2 MOA shift in POI after pulling the bbl and cleaning it.
@Competitiveairgunning
@Competitiveairgunning 4 месяца назад
I don’t pay attention how often if I’m being honest. I’ve probably ran a thousand rounds through it since the last time but I’m going to run a couple patches through it. Definitely anytime you take that barrel apart you can or will have a large POI shift. It’s the downfall of the pieces that go into that setup. Have you tested to see if you experience a POI shift if you mimic hitting the barrel on something?
@PrecisionQuest
@PrecisionQuest 4 месяца назад
@@Competitiveairgunning I haven't tested the amount of shift by barrel knock, however I have noticed a POI shift from knocking the barrel. A guy has to be super careful in the ladder and tree props to not make contact the barrel. So far I haven't used my Panthera in comp yet, but might do it in the May NRL 22 event? @@murathayta3211 I usually dont have any creep unless it’s due to have some work done on it. Once the piston is polished good, washers are polished good and the orings are replaced you can avoid the regulator creep. Are you refilling after every stage/lane? Also what size air tank are you using for refills and how many refills can you get from your fill tank?
@Competitiveairgunning
@Competitiveairgunning 5 месяцев назад
I refill after every stage. I keep it a habit so I don’t forget and let it end up costing me points. At matches and practicing I run a 74cu ft bottle. I have bigger bottles but I’ve yet to need them. However I do keep one with with me for backup just in case I spring a leak or something. By the end of a match I can continue to fill my gun at probably 270 bar on a decently warm day. If it’s cold out that number can drastically change. As far as how many refills I’ve never checked but I’ll try and pay attention. Ive never had to refill my main tank at a match unless I forgot to charge it or top it off before I left the house.

@@Competitiveairgunning thank you for real information that a .22nrl Rimfire shooter's would like to know before trying out a .22 air rifle for competition. I'm about to purchase a. 22 panthera. I have to figure out tuning and slugs. Any advice about tunes and slugs?

@Competitiveairgunning 5 месяцев назад
@@LHB33 your welcome Glad my tips are helping ya get dialed in on your new venture. It’s addicting and fun. As far as tuning goes they are pretty easy I’d watch a video on RU-vid to get the basics and fine tune your slugs after that. I’ll make a video here before to long tuning. With slugs there is a ton of options depending on what cal you get into. I like Zan, H&N, javelins, as well as Altaros. Griffen is another solid option but I haven’t tried them yet. Where ya wanna be budget wise, if your wanting a higher BC, something to hunt with as well as shoot at a competition or if you’re worried about out of stock when you try to restock makes a difference. Some of them can be hard to get hold of with out large markups if you’re in a hurry. I’m about to start making my own before to long.

@@LHB33 you are thinking of running JTS.22 or .25 cal pellets? You will fight wind pretty with that low of a BC but I’ve seen someone run one at matches before. If I was going budget friendly and running pellets I’d have an avenger. You can run light slugs as well to get a much better BC for better wind deflection and distance shooting.

Just ordered some myself. The website recommends under 900fps. Yours seem to be running well at the 950 mark. Have you pushed them any faster?
@Competitiveairgunning
@Competitiveairgunning 5 месяцев назад
I backed it down a smidge from my last tune and am running at 944 right now. Ive tried a lot of speeds from 880-1015 and can tell you from my testing a hair over 950 is the fastest I’ve gotten them to group very well and it took a lil time to find that tune. The closer to 900 you get the more forgiving with a tune. The faster you get the more they require the tune to be closer to that sweet spot. But once I got past the 960’s there wasn’t a tune I could find that grouped good enough for me. Some of the groups were really good then comes a random flier(s) when testing at higher speeds. If I watched a chrono the speeds would end up looking similar this 970,975,972,932,973,975,945 and the faster you go the worse the your FPS string would look and the more random fliers you would get no matter what I did. Cleaning and lubing them would lessen the fliers by probably 25% or so but wasn’t good enough to justify the extra work.
@BraedonBriscoe

Just got my slugs and ran out to test them. Shot good in the 900ish fps zone. I couldn't get my reg/hammer to settle down. What reg pressure/hammer tension are you running?
@Competitiveairgunning
@Competitiveairgunning 4 месяца назад
@@BraedonBriscoe keep an eye on your speed. These ones as you get over your speed threshold you will start getting fliers. And those fliers will coincide with random velocity changes.
