Australian here. Burger bun = Burger Sandwich slices = Sandwich The only reason you believe it’s your way is because McDonald’s called them Sandwiches , you have been manipulated into thinking a burger is a sandwich which is wrong, no matter what protein you put between a burger bun it is always a burger same goes with any protein on 2 sandwich slices. Eg: if I put a Beef burger patty on two slices of bread it’s a sandwich. If the beef patty was in between a burger bun it’s a burger. Pretty simple. No confusion. Being Unbiased as possible. Australians have it correct. Americans just admit you’ve got it wrong.
That's awesome. I found this video as I'm thinking about moving to OZ temporarily to surf while a work. I really relate to your story as I'm from NJ, and when I was younger I was hungry like you. I wanted to see what I was made of. So I worked in NYC for a while. My customers were hedge funds. So I was around some smart, interesting and ludicrously wealthy people. But, having grown up surfing on the Jersey Shore, the city was MEH. Sure it was fun, but I had no life. Up at 4:30 am, leave at 5:15 on the train, 2.5 hour commute, then come home and be too tired to do anything at 7:30. My surfing lifestyle was always important to me, but this made me see just how much. Now, I live close to the beach, work all day in shorts, a tee shirt and flip flops. I realize, as I think you did, money wasn't the point, living your life is. When you get older like me, time becomes the big thing in your life, not money. I hope you are happy there, best of luck!!!! If you ever meet a guy with the NJ accent, maybe it's me. LOL
I think a lot of Australians fake it when it comes to Vegemite, like, they're afraid to admit they find it disgusting lest they be branded "unAustralian".
On 31 August 2023 you entered the country with a "12 month" visa. So what scheme have you come up with to game the visa system and stay longer? Found a Simp yet to wife you up?
Hi Marissa, great video! Magnetic Island looks beautiful. Sorry to see one of your friends is returning home but it's a great reason to visit Europe one day in the future. Look forward to your next video. Dave
Really liked this video Marissa! You guys really created some nice experiences and lasting memories to celebrate your friendships ; ) Life is nothing without them!
I'm surprised tou didn't get stopped at the door and asked to turn camera off. But waltz in like you own the store. But keep up the good work and keep enjoying your trip.
Hi Marissa, good to see you and your friend. Hope both of you are doing well and eating healthily. Please do a video soon detailing what has been happening in your life. E.g. work, family. dating, etc.
I'm only here because i moved from Austin to Melbourne Australia lol. As americans we're indoctrinated to think we live in the greatest country, nothing could be further from the truth. My parents already know that i will never set foot back home, they're comming for vacation next week to "what the fuss is about" 😂
lol I’m going to do it now. I just had to quit my gym membership😥 give me all the at home workout vids but only if they are 80s and only if they are Marissa’s mom.
My neice just returned to NYC after being back in Australia for two years. Although born in Oz, she was raised in NY and has struggled to find her place back here and to adapt to the vast difference between NY and suburban life in Melbourne. I hope she finds what she is looking for, but I am very worried. She is not an outwardly confident or bold person that apparently you need to be to be success in NY. Glad you are feeling at home Marissa….it doesn’t always work out. It takes a lot of courage and positivity.
Marissa, I really like your down to earth laid back conversational videos. I’ve lived in Sydney, Hobart (Tas), and Brisbane (Qld) in my life. I wish you well in Queensland. Get out to Stradbroke island if you can. My question, do you hope to meet a tradie (plumber/builder/electrician) as a a dream guy? 🥰😅
A big difference here is the food standards. In Oz it must be demonstrably safe with whole stack of test data whereas in the US they have no real standards and the onus of proof is reversed. So US megacorp can add various chemicals and the regulator must prove it’s unsafe. Whereas here any additional chemicals or whatever that’s added must have demonstrated safety stats etc.
