Our trip to Morton National Park was no easy accomplishment. A 4-hour drive from Sydney, a 10-hour hike, two bites from leaches, seeing a wollughby, deer and goanna later, this was a trip to remember!
Marisa I am 76 now climbed there so many times folly point is good also niberlang another great climb castle by moonlight is great to do enjoy Aussie nature
Oh wow. Algorithm brought me here! I live a couple of suburbs over from Kiama (from where the blowhole is) and every Easter from aged 0 - 20, my family and a bunch of friends/family camped at Yadboro Flats in that national park. Pigeon House was our jam as little kids, but when we got to 7 or 8, we got to 'graduate' and started doing The Castle. I used to love all the rock climbing sections, but looking at them now, I feel like I should've died from falling at least half a dozen times! Loved running down the hill to make sure we crossed back over the creek before dark, though. XD Leeches are absolutely TERRIBLE in that area, unfortunately - carrying around salt is a necessity and I still vividly remember waking up in my tent with one inside my sock after it feasting all night... FUN.
I have absolutely no idea why I am so invested in your experiences and adventures in Australia 😂 I love it. I am so pleased you have surrounded yourself with good people and I hope this year is what you wish for it to be. Let me know if you make it to Brisbane 🎉😊
Thanks for this upload. I was entertained for 15 mins 👍🏽💪🏽💯 you’re a natural story teller and just an FYI, if you haven’t bought a car yet, if you can avoid it, buy a car out west as far from the beaches as possible because salty air + metal = rust, cars close to freshwater beach? forget about it!
Well done on doing the Castle! That is not an easy trek, especially for your first serious bush walk here. So you guys should be proud. Morton NP is one of my favourite places. Still enjoying seeing our country through someone else's eyes.
The wine bag is called a Goon bag or Coraki handbag. They are an Australian icon for using in games such as hanging off a clothesline and camping they are a pillow.
Still a Goanna, mate. The term "Goanna" is a misnomer anyways. They are known interchangeably as a Tree Goanna or Lace Monitor. So, Chris- pull ya head in, you boofhead .
