Honestly? Ngl I forgot about them totally, I remembered once during those last videos and was like "oh I totally forgot about them" and then forgot again lmao
A lot of skipping around this episode. Would've been interesting to see you encounter more stuff in Irithyll dungeon, like the random screams and the room full of those wardens. Also really fast Sulyvahn kill, he tends to be a wall. I expected a lot more struggle. I guess you're a lot better with Fume Ultra Greatsword than you were with the Greatsword. An unorthodox route too, fighting Yhorm, beating Oceiros, visiting Archdragon Peaks, and returning to beat Aldrich after that. Never seen anyone do it in this order. Now, some explanations. How did people find Archdragon Peaks? There's a similar puzzle in Bloodborne, so it isn't an unfamiliar concept, and if you use the Miracle Seek Guidance, it shows developer messages that help you find secrets. Both of those likely helped. The reason you did so little damage to Yhorm was because he's a gimmick boss fight, like Rykard in Elden Ring. There's a weapon in his boss room that lets you do the same magical attacks as your buddy the onion knight Siegward was doing, for a lot of damage. Is Aldrich a woman? The "woman" you see when fighting Aldrich is actually Gwyndolin, a god from Anor Londo, a secret boss in Dark Souls 1 that you missed. But in DS1, it's just the "woman" and not the sludge. The sludge is Aldrich. Aldrich eats people, and he even ate a god, Gwyndolin, and is using his corpse. Also, his, because he's a man that Gwyn, his father and final boss in Dark Souls 1, raised as a girl, making him dress as a woman. Lastly, if you go back to the place you found the gesture to access Archdragon Peaks, behind Oceiros' boss room, there's an illusory wall there, behind the chest. It'll take you to another area with another secret boss fight. Be sure to try that too.
Hmm there wasn't that much interesting stuff in Irithyll dungeon for content besides those weird guys that steal your health, and once I noticed that, I just ran and ignored them lol. I expected Pontiff to be harder too, I watched some people struggle with him, but I've also seen people melt him with some dex weapons pretty fast, although I enjoyed his fight. I only took that weird route to get Havel's armor, I felt like I played a lot and didn't encounter it yet, but considering it's hidden in DS1 I searched where it is here, if it even is, and it is kinda weird to get it, beating Oceiros, getting the emote, going back to Irithyll duneon to the statue and use the emote, beating Havel, and then having to go back to Faron's Keep or whatever it was, so complicated honestly, and also it is so heavy I can't use it even with Havel's ring and Ring of Favor, I guess separating stamina and carry weight into 2 stats compared to Dark Souls 1 I just don't have enough points for both, also the Fume ultra Greatsword is extremely heavy too, in the next video I just used another armor that I actually could use and I felt a little bit bummed about going through all that to get Havel's set. And yea the Fume weapon is so OP, it kinda made the game pretty easy. Oh I see, I didn't know Bloodborne was made before DS3, also didn't know there is such a spell in game, but then again I never use magic in these games. I hated Rykard tbh, I don't like gimmick bossfights at all, they seem cheap to me and I enjoy fighting bosses myself a lot more. Good thing Siegward helped haha. Oh that's actually interesting, so Aldrich is actually a man. And lastly yes, I get to that area in the next video.
@@lohto3 Yess I've looked up some DLC videos and they look cool, haven't started them yet but I can't wait. Also the next video which is the last of the base game has some cool guys too, the Dragonslayer Armor, the twin Princes, Champion Gundyr, Nameless King and the last Boss Soul of Cinder, cool guys all of them, felt like playing Elden Ring again haha.
People mostly fight Dancer early to get her weapons, but I guess you're not using them, so that was just getting butt kicked for fun. Dancer fight automatically triggers, without needing to kill the old lady, after you beat the three "main" bosses, the Undead Legion you beat, and then Aldrich and Yhorm. By then, you're stronger, so it's more manageable, but good job on doing it early. The community tends to call Old Demon King easy, but if you ask me, it's a tough fight, so your struggle was understandable. If you're patient, he's easy to dodge and chip away at, but for unga bunga mains like you and I, who don't put many points in HP, his attacks do so much damage that one mistake can be fatal. So I felt that struggle.
The Old Demon King was pretty tough honestly and felt more unfair than the Dancer even tho it was 7vs12 tries, he is fast for a unga bunga build, I watched some people after that and it was easy with a fast roll and dex weapons since you dodge and hit way faster.
YOU GOTTA READ ITEM DESCRIPTIONS!!! there's some important items you could miss (like the undead bone shards for upgrading estus) that will rlly help you out, they tell you who and where you need to bring em
@@reinhardsteckin5444 yea haha I very rarely use a shield, I watched some of it and it looks amazing, I wasn't a big fan of the victorian era setting and everything, but it just looked so cool, hopefully I'll get to play it this summer xD
Thank you! :') I'm trying but it's hard to post more than once a week at the moment, although I'm learning to record, edit etc. faster with each video :) and hopefully there will be 2 vids a week soon.
@@FIREHIVE the editing looks great but could work a bit more on it and maybe start playing another game and post a video of each every week , i feel like people would like a lot !
@@Andreew- Honestly I'm not sure, games I enjoy playing and games I'd love to play but never got time to like for example I have thousands of hours in Skyrim, played all metro and stalker games (I love post-apocalypse games) but never got to play any of the Fallout games, and with the release of the fallout series I was thinking of trying Fallout 4. Other games maybe Half life.. ofc other souls likes, but maybe older games everyone loves since newer games are usually... rushed unfinished buggy messes.
two handing weapons in DS3 doesnt increase damage that much (early game) (mostly poise damage). And the attackspeed is slightly slower. Personally I preferred just regularly holding the weapon.
I haven't used a shield so far in Elden Ring or DS1 so I got used to doing it because I use heavy ultra (colosal) greatswords, and I'll use one here too.
@@FIREHIVE fair, imo the slow swing time of Greatswords always got me hit. I also never used a shield (actively anyways) but was equipped with a shield which gave stamina regen (won't spoil which one, is found fairly early) Enjoy the game. (shields still give their bonus on your back, afaik)
Finished er at 700 hrs, dlc prepped. Bought ds3 on sale a month back, finished till ng8, bought ds1 a few days back. I highly reccommend ds1 too, not as refurnished as 3 but damn if it isnt a masterpiece.
The katana guy you fought in the beginning drops his katana on death, but he fell down so you may have missed it. Maybe it'll be there if you go back, if you ever need a katana. You'll notice that bosses in this will be rather easy, like Vordt was, especially in the first half. They try to do more gimmicky, different from usual type of bosses. As a result, difficulty suffers. In base game, there's maybe 3 bosses that are challenging. You'll still find plenty of difficulty from regular enemies at least. Though there's still some great bosses in the DLC and the secret boss is arguably the coolest in the whole trilogy.
@@FIREHIVE Ah, nice, good to know. The axe you had did look strong. I've personally never used it so it was fun seeing you try it. The secret boss is the boss in Archdragon Peaks, the secret area. When you fight a boss named Oceiros, look up how to access Archdragon Peaks after that, it's the best place in the game. It'll be very cool. You can only access it after Oceiros, so best to wait until then before looking it up, it's a bit convoluted. Helps to avoid spoilers if you wait until then too. Reminds me, did you ever find Ash Lake, the secret area in Dark Souls 1? There's not much there, but it's a cool looking area with great soundtrack. Has a second Hydra fight there.
@@lohto3 oh that's cool, I actually know about the area because the Nameless King is there, I've seen some videos of him and how you get there, wouldn't know in 1000 years you have to use the emote near that statue.. how would you even find out about that lol,... and no I didn't find that place in Dark Souls 1 :(
@@FIREHIVE Ah, I see you've done your research. I was trying to avoid naming the bosses because of spoiler reasons. This playthrough is gonna be fun, good lock mate.
friend dark souls 1 it was easy because you got the knight's greatsword, now in dark souls 3 I hope you don't have so much luck haha, another great video
Ive just finished ds1, it was my first souls game. And I also had the same experience as you xd first try is easy but few next tries are harder for some reason. Also that manus fight in havel armor looks soo easy, i had to try like 20 times
I knew it, I'm not crazy, first try is sometimes so easy and then the rest are so hard for some reason 😅. And yeah the Havel armor is OP it was so easy he barely did any damage.
If you want more challenge, Dark Souls 2 is gonna have it next, and be sure to play the Scholar of First Sin edition Dark Souls 3 is easier and closer to Elden Ring, so that might be more comfortable, but like half the bosses in DS3 are "kill on first attempt" level easy Either way, both are gonna be harder, because no armor like Havel's armor that trivializes everything, no weapons quite as broken as this one, so good things to look forward to if you want challenge I'm sure you'll get to both eventually, looking forward to it
the gwyn fight is supposed to be easy, he's this dying old man still trying to cling to his past power that he lost, that's why the music so sad PLIN PLIN PLON \[T]/
@@FIREHIVE i think it fit pretty well in the world of dark souls, where everything is at it's end, dying and things that seem like they're not are just an illusion (anor londo), you should check out some lore vids, the story of this game is top tier o7
@@witha1 yea I'll do for sure, it seems amazing, watched one for Elden Ring when I finished it and I realized I knew almost NOTHING about the lore and characters.
@@FIREHIVE yee fromsoft and miyazaki specifically like to not show parts of the lore and just make the game epic, but they do put all of the lore in the game, just in the form of item descriptions, that's where most of the lore from the vids comes from lol
