the operating costs per year on a small jet is $600,000 to $800,000 per year. that is not what i would call affordable. this will bankrupt most people.
Hello Everyone, Would someone be so kind as to inform if the E. Legacy 650E is still in production Since there is no information on the Embraer website Thank you very much My best regards to everyone...
Buying a jet if the least expensive part. Owning one, even if you are your own pilot is the expensive part. Alan Jackson just sold his Lear 24 for $75000 a couple years ago. The Citation 1SP I fly had an avg ownership cost of 800k/year and that's if you're the pilot and owner
Hep me out here. I'm using mpg gallon because my mind is old and laaaazy. zzzz Sorry. Fell asleep. Honda Jet: Given that: Jet A is $6 - 9 per gallon. Montana is 2200 miles from Marathon. Based on internet info: Honda Jet uses about 4 mpg. Montana to Marathon: $$6600 round trip. Cirrus Vision Jet Jet A is $6 - 9; Mont to Mara. 2200 mi. Internet says Cirrus gets 15 mpg. Shocking. Cirrus one way out:$880 round trip. 1760 So, Honda Jet Fuel. $6600 Cirrus Jet Fuel. $1760 Both are one pilot jets. We are carrying family and a few friends, not a slew of passengers. I vote for the cirrus, unless you want to go turboprop or King Air. I would pick the TBM 960, but holy cow...the price.
If this is true it’s a game changer. I mean they’re obviously considering a first class commercial ticket and not economy but still, opening the doors to private jets at commercial costs will be very disruptive.
AMT here. Private yets definitely are not affordable. You're lucky to find private jet taxis for less than 3k. Their maintenance is a nightmare, and the pilots that will fly em are scarce. All of this ramps up to an extremely higb operational cost of anywhere between 200k to 500k a year. Now try to make a profit on that, it takes exceedingly high ticket prices. Thats why private jet airlines are very niche.
My biggest annoyance is the standard private jet. Most people think a biz jet, the plane with the engines mounted of the fuselage, the 🛩️ emoji. In reality, any privately owned jet powered aircraft is a private jet, but not every biz jet is a private jet. I’ll see a CRJ-900, and people will say “ITs A PriVatE JeT!” when I check flightradar24 and it’s owned by Delta connections or something.
Since the EVA came on line they, Piaggio, has only sold about 16 EVA's. That number may be a little off but it seems Piaggio has never lived down their lack of customer support. Just my uneducated opinion!
