Quick question. Im currently playing B and inwas wondering if youd have any tips on how i could reach the A level. I believe i got the tools i jst dont kno the community
@kyyva4533 you have to play against A teams or in events with A and up players. If you truly are whackin it in front of those people your name will get asked
@TrevorTynesLocalSEO the difference is in the mechanics. Fast hands mentality should keep you from making big movements that pull you out of form. Big leg kick, pulling the bat way back, flexing your arms through the swing, being too tight. All of those things will actually slow your swing down. But in my mind, if I'm trying to create fast bat speed (and not a hard powerful swing) then it keeps me smooth.
@@hittingwiththenation amazing. Thank you. I tend to try and pull the bat way back. You've given me a lot to work with and practice on here. Keep bringing the awesomeness.
Hey Nation! bit of an odd question here as far as slopitch goes. I'm a right handed batter that doesn't hit for much power. But my go to is actually pushing the ball down the right field line or right center gap. Got any tips, or maybe even a video, on how to pull a ball? It has gotten to the point that most of the pitchers and teams I play against know what I am going to do and set up the defense accordingly, making my job as the lead off guy a lot harder. Thanks and keep up the great videos! The cutting videos have really helped!
To pull the ball you have to obviously be earlier and swing around the body not in a straight line to the ball. Pull hands left don’t throw hands at it. **Strictly when trying to pull the ball not always ideal**
Thank you Cole for all the hitting tips you give on this youtube channel i have been hitting off the tee for years but i would only hit to one side of the field. After seeing all your videos i am going to change the way i hit the ball hopefully I can scatter the ball more once i go back to playing senior ball but one question I have for you as far as hitting off the tee do you move the height of your tee or you leave it the same height.
@user-ox8xw1xv8f I have found that it is up to the person. Tape grip, stock grip, lizard grip, just whatever works for you. I will say a thinner grip helps, and spray helps if the bat is slipping at contact. Turning in your hand or if you feel like you might throw it. Spary the gloves a bit then grab the bat. Tape works best with spray.
How did you hit his truck? That was a magic ball 😂. Good video. Will be trying those things at spiderz today. I struggle with 80%. Too much Hulk Smash in my swing..😂 Thanks!
@LambeauLeeeper you would hope that it could last all year. But that also depends on how many tournaments you play, what ball you hit, weather your playing in. I only use a bat in BP until I feel it's hot enough. Then I stop and use my back up of the same bat.
What you guys are saying(and I hope I'm understanding it) is that less is more when it comes to oppo?. I also saw that your guy's front leg/foot was leading to the area where you want to swing oppo?.
@Hannyarube yes and yes. An over swing and rushed swing will cause you to miss your hole. When you get concerned with exit velocity you could roll into a double play up the middle
@hittingwiththenation I think that's my problem. I'm left-handed and overthink cause I always get played the shift. Every time I try to go oppo, I ground out or roll into a double play. I'm gonna try to simply my approach when I get into the box.
@Hannyarube being left handed you should barely ever hit into double plays. I will do a video soon with a lefty and go over how to hit backside while falling out of the box.
Really loved this BP session....this is what I struggle most with. I'm always too aggressive and I think in my BP sessions I'm going to start letting pitches I don't want to swing at or I don't believe are strikes to land. This past weekend I got myself out at least 4 times because I don't want to strike out and then decided to swing at a bad pitch. Very interested as I tend to have a more cut swing and hearing you and Cody talk about getting on your front side to stop the collapsing of the back knee when trying to pull the ball is interesting. I will try that in my next BP session, and also making sure I trust my hands and drive those where I want to go.
If you are not getting struck out looking at least once or twice a season, you are not being a good enough eye in the box. I know that sounds crazy, but some of the best walkers/hitters get rung up still in the conference.
@@hittingwiththenation I usually end up with 1 or 2 K's per season with around 15 walks. Most of the time it is on the short one, i expect the umpire to call illegal sometimes, and with 2 strikes i just need to hit those
@hittingwiththenation What part of Texas are you from? Ive been trying so hard to get into this but no one has given me a ring back or email back..not even the churches! lol but for real any kind of pointing in the right direction would be so much appreciated. Im around the Houston area.
Insane to how little effort these guys swing the bat and how far they go. Id have to swing with every single ounce i have in my body and on the sweet spot and with 20mph winds at my back. Loli need to get my speed up for sure.
@@hittingwiththenation oh i agree but i did pick up a resmondo off one of your other reviews now if i can get the local leagues to get away from the horrible balls we use
Binge watching your bp vids. I had L5-S1 fusion last August. Right now off the tee 84mph top 75 avg. Really working on a cut swing with tee work. Since I started recording my bp I noticed a tendency to endcap the ball almost all of the time. I have a hard time keeping my front foot from flaring out towards 3rd as soon as I set it down. Pretty much figure that’s a symptom of my hip tightness. Appreciate your down to earth approach to the game and sharing with the public.
@DieterTietjen I have reviewed a couple so far this year. I think the Miken and Worth are the way to go. I know Monsta is lived by a ton of players too for asa.
