This is my hometown. I went and watched part of them filming Halloweentown in the late 90’s. I have never recommended anyone to go to Halloweentown. 😅 If you went on a weekend…you would feel overwhelmed with the amount of people. They have a Facebook page with events and I’m assuming a website. It’s best to plan ahead. 😊
The hotel is connected to Terminal 3 on the domestic flights exit side. If you’re flying domestic you don’t need a visa but if you’re coming internationally, you do to access the hotel.
@@TwinTravel03 Exactly! I'm from Australia and planning to do a US trip to all the spooky places. So coming all the way for that would of been major disappointing 😂
Hi 😄 how fun!! It’s 70s night, gala night, white party, silent party (you put on headphones and change the music), and the end of the cruise party. The weather in June is perfect and humid 🙂
It’s an amazing resort 🙏🏻 you won’t regret it. You can book excursions and you’ll get picked up there. It’s not a party resort so there isn’t a nightlife. But it is filled with relaxation and pure luxury ✨😌
Great question 😌 so after looking at diff hotels, we went with just one for the whole stay in Nairobi. I contacted them beforehand to ask them if I could leave my luggage while I was away for days and they said yes. Since we were returning to the same hotel in Nairobi, they didn’t charge for the luggage storage. I absolutely loved that hotel and even the one next to it that was considered “budget” was amazing. Their customer service was amazing. The only thing tho is that taxis do take advantage of you. So we used Uber and it was $3 usd from the hotel to the Wilson Airport for the safari
This festival will have to remain small because it can't be moved away from the courthouse square. The real draw, and when everything cool happens, is the weekend the cast is in town. I think the problem is in the advertising. They make it sound like the whole month of October is one big party but other than that weekend, it's pretty sedate.
Oh-yo hotel the most ghetto one St Helens has to offer😂 cool video here, I live in St Helens and have only gone down a few times it gets way too busy for the locals but it does draw in people to our community which is great. Thanks for sharing our little town!
We had no idea 😂😂😂 everyone kept telling us after the fact lol but we were trying to save money & that hotel was close to the stuff 🥲 but it was an adventure for sure lol
I didn't even know they changed the name till I saw this video (I'm bed bound so I don't get out). Remember it used to be the Village Inn? That was truly the most run down, out dated motel till Motel 6 took it over. Now it's only marginally run down. I do remember returning from PDX one night when it was the former & seeing a bevy of ppl with cameras standing in the parking lot. A man was on the upper balcony waving to the small crowd. It was Andrew McCarthy & they were filming Things I Never Told You. I was horrified he was staying there. At least with Twilight they brought in trailers for the cast.
The hotel gave us a tour and the first thing they said it was 200 not 300 years old. If you walk though the hotel you can definitely tell it was not constructed recently
Hi, I just watched your video! Can you tell me who you used to drink your hotel for Holbox by Xaloc? How far in advance did you look at it? Thank you for your help :-) Laura
Thank you for your honesty on how hard this is. Have yall ever hiked up to Mt LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park? It’s hard but worth it.
As someone born and raised in saint helens I’ll tell you why it sucked. One year when the main character came to town (2015-2016) there were over 10,000-15,000 tourists in the small plaza and the town was SEVERELY under prepared.. and severely overwhelmed with all the traffic. It was great for the economy but the residents DID NOT like it. The town’s population is around 13,000 so to have that many people come in ONE NIGHT not including the surrounding days was VERY VERY overwhelming. And, the towns board and city council have down played and not funded the expansion of this tourist attraction due to unhappy residents.
That makes total sense 😭 and I feel for the residents because it’s out of their control with the amount of visitors each year 🥲 the city should try and prepare for it every year since it’s just once a year. But I get it 😭😭 thank you for sharing
@@TwinTravel03 I wish they did fund it properly! It could really be something cool! Especially with the twilight connection as well! Maybe one day!!🤞🫶🏼
I've been a St Helens resident for 30 yrs. When the movie was made it was very low key; no huge throngs of production ppl or tourists about (I used to live in southern California & I've seen movie productions) and it was business as usual in the town square. The only difference were the props strewn about. We, and Disney, did not realize how popular the movie(s) would be so it took well over a decade before St Helens capitalized on it. At the start it was just a normal street fair to buy food & trinkets. As the movie franchise expanded, so did the festival. We recreated the large pumpkin then added more decorations until we amassed quite a collection including the real taxi from the original film. The festival really took off when we were able to get the original cast, minus the late great Debbie Reynolds, to visit. That was the year the numbers soared & the town was ill equipped to handle it. Every year we learn from the year before & we do try to improve it, but unfortunately we are limited to space & resources. Only a B n' B & a few restaurants close to the festivities. Everything else is out by the highway including 2 motels (the one in this vlog used to be the Village Inn then a Motel 6, as evident by the decor). The best time to visit is when the cast is present otherwise it's just an average small town street fair with a wonderful Halloween theme. It's more of an afternoon out kinda thing. We have a haunted tour (the old Klondike Hotel & Restaurant is notorious for cold drafts, whispers & apparitions) & a tour of the Twilight movie locations. I was given a private tour of Bella's house just after filming wrapped; not much to see but the outside of the house. We have the mighty Columbia River & some wonderful hiking trails but not much else. I would like to see us get our pirate festival, with real pirate ship, & Renaissance Faire back in town. The latter was great with joisting, cooked turkey legs & mead, wenches & cod pieces (look it up) and lots of pseudo drunken comraderie. Now that's a festival. I live 5 blocks from Halloween Town square & have never experienced a problem. None of the locals I've talked to have a problem either so I think the complaints are coming from the ppl who live around the square & I could certainly see this as irritating because it's so compact down there. Also the highway probably gets congested. For the locals it's usually the same old vendors so we generally stay home and save our energy for the real event, trick-or-treating and eating all that candy. I hope this helps you plan your next trip. Sincerely, we are proud of our little town & we do love having visitors but please do not expect Disneyland as we have no room for the rides. Lol😮
@kaylafinch4206 Hi Kayla! You said you were born here & your name seems vaguely familiar. My daughter was a 2012 grad of SHHS. I'm wondering if you went to school with her.
It was The Marvel Stone..don’t stay there or anywhere in the pyramid complex. We got our tour with Viator ☺️ the link is in the bio of this video but overall we liked the tour. To go into the pyramid is an extra cost so that’s not included in any tour
Honetly seashore was the worst cruise of my life because of 6000 people jam packed. The elevators where a nightmare. And severe lines for food. Pools where jam packed 24/7. The crew was disrepectfull almost always.
So sorry about your experience. We had a delay the day of embarkation and the cruise took off till 3am. We didn’t even get a sail away party 😭 but all the staff were very welcoming even though they were extremely tired. Hopefully you get a better experience in the future. This was my first time on a cruise and would want to experience more ships and different cruise lines.
@@trishg5820 so sorry for your family’s loss 😞 it’s super understandable. The guide told us that many people visit to look for their loved ones names and pictures 😭
@@TwinTravel03 You're so sweet. As I get older it seems to bother me more. I notice you go on some eclectic trips, Auschwitz, African safari & St Helens, OR (that vid lead to this one). I'm really sorry your trip here to St Helens wasn't want you wanted. It's safe to raise a family here but it should be labeled "safe and sedate". The kids keave as soon as high school's over so that says it all. Be safe on your travels, ok.
Hi the tour company is called Guaycura Adventures ☺️ this is where we booked www.viator.com/tours/Loreto/Walk-to-Coronado-Island-with-Snorkel/d50695-208188P1?pid=P00108072&mcid=42383&medium=link
We also took a cruise with MSC in January 2024 to the Mediterranean !!! It was great. Weather was good. It was plus 13-15 degree what was perfect for me. Compare to the Canadian weather in January many times it is minus 20 .. just 2 weeks before we left I got an offer to up-great our room 😁. We payed 100 Canadian dollars each and we got Amazing Room with a Balcony 🤣🤣🤣!!!! We were sooo happy .. this trip cost Us $ 660 Canadian dollars for each person . We will take an other MSC cruise next January. 😁 We were in Italy, Florence , Genoa , Pisa , Pompeii, Spain Barcelona , Palma de Mallorca, Marseiile what we loved so much !! It was very easy to get around in Marseille. We fly to Marseille to catch our ship . We get around by local bus. It cost only 2 euro and the ticket is good for over an hour . We stayed at a hotel by the Vieux Port. Everything was there , easy to get anywhere . Do you know in the Mediterranean cruise you can get an on any port ??? Just pick a city where the cruise stop and you can get an it. Not like a carribbien. !! Every port people getting on or off the cruise ship . We choose Marseille. It was an amazing decision. We spend 2 days before and after the cruise there and we saw many beautiful things . I would suggest if you fly to catch your cruise straight from Usa or Canada than give your self couple of extra days because the jet leg is really bad. You may not enjoy your trip as the way you could because you would be tired .. lots of walk needed in these ports 😅 you need strength and good walking shoe 😂
December was in Miami about 25 degrease. Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic was about 30 or more. As Canadian we were very happy about it 👍. We booked our trip with Expedia ,
