I have the same one of this mower I had reverse issue I looked up a video on this matter and it was a simple fix had to adjust the shift linkage by lossing the adjustment bolt on it I have a video of it. On my RU-vid channel
If your gas rings have a failure like that in a short number of rounds then something is out of spec, either your bolt, carrier or rings. If you replace the gas rings and the problem continues then replacing the whole BCG is probably the only way to make the rifle reliable. It's only $120 for a new BCG, well worth the upgrade. I have personally had this issue and after 3 times of replacing the gas ring(s) it had the same issue, had to replace the BCG to fix it.

Mine has an issue not wanting to go into reverse and when trying to put into reverse the transmission would lift up a bit. I see where the mount bolts were that must have fallen out probably years ago. Going to go try to find some bolts to fit. Do you recall what thread size?
I have an odd problem, just 1st n reverse, lose them all if try and go past 3rd position, so perhaps someone did same to mine.. should post which keys you used..
What was the initial issue? I just picked up a freebee from dump that runs mint, but can only get 1st n reverse, similar axle, an MST-206-502A, hoping the keys you used, look like a 792180 in mirror, tried to read that bag. is my issue.. since cannot read label to know model number cannot look up parts, could only get axle numbers, that sticker in place... mowing in 1st is not fun...
There was a sticker on rear tire saying to add grease, it was out of lube, and the axle looked like new it was so clean, appears to be something like a 98 Murray 12.5hp 42" widebody, again sticker for model number on tractor itself was torn in half and what is left is just white, cannot read a thing... I had filled mine up, had a combo drain n fill plug, but could not get plug back in, is like 2x size and pushing a tool into middle of plug, is hollow, not enough room in place.. so will do on bench and see what is wrong,,, grass mowed have a week to play and hope correct keys and no other issues,,,
Is it possible to swap forward and reverse? What i mean by that is my mower movers forward in reverse gear and reverse in gears 1-5. Its not the original transaxle so im tryna see if i can take the trans apart and make it to where im going forward in gears 1-5 instead of backwards

I have this exact Lawn boy mower. I was cutting grass today it the mower just stopped. The engine was running but the mower would not go backwards or forward. I pushed it in my garage and a friend came by and he said it was my belt that it need to be replaced. Do you know where I could get belt for this mower. I’m a female and I don’t know 🤷🏽♀️ anything mechanical about lawn mowers. He said I also need to replace the air filter! Any suggestions where I can get the parts would be greatly appreciated. I'm the neighborhood gun fixer. Just had a PSA with less than 500 come by. Owner said his son separated the upper and lower and now it wouldn't cycle. Took the whole thing apart, super dirty from low qual ammo. Soon as I pulled the piston out of the bcg a busted ring just fell out. Love the psa price, but not the psa quality.
Just keep working it they will fit together its actually frustrating. I welded mine to make it locked for posi rear end took a bit to get it together right

Built one 16 inch on a Anderson upper and lower and a 10 inch pistol on Aero Precision upper and lower both AR's run like a champ with any and all ammo, I use both ASC 30 rounders and C-Products 28 and 30 round mags. Got over 6k rounds between both.
I have yet to have anybody with prolonged experience with the white letter one be able to tell me if it will hold up to 12 gauge shotgun for turkey. And I would really like to know where you got this sucker for $20 other than used at a yard sale from somebody that didn’t realize what they had.
I noticed in another comment that this 46t setup failed? Did it fail from normal use or from smashing it into a rock? I want to upgrade my 40t cassette to the 46 as well. Should i bother?
