One fun little local problem to the US is stores (Hobby Lobby most infamously) who refuse to put up Halloween decor for "religious reasons". Since Thanksgiving decor barely sells they just start putting up Christmas in September/October to fill in the gap. And yet it's also Christians who complain the most about "commercializing the sacred". Amazing how two different aspects of the same problem can cause two separate controversies. 😂
Hey guys!! This is no joke my favorite podcast of all time. Iv been listening since the channel that shall not be named. Iv missed the uploads. So glad you guys are back for the spooky season.
Interesting Alex was watching Shaun of the Dead for spooky season, I actually saw that movie for the first time recently. I actually saw it in theaters as part of a re-release for its 20th anniversary. But for my spooky season this year I’m listening to an audiobook of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I’ve never read it before but after Robin made that video in Whitby (or more specifically re-uploaded it to another channel this year) I decided it will be my spooky season entertainment. It’s actually really good and still holds up after 120+ years.
Well, it’s too bad space in no longer the one place that hasn’t been corrupted by capitalism…😂 On the other hand, while I’m sure some people may be upset to learn about the historical connection to slavery regarding chocolate I’m sure some of those same people have no problem buying goods made with slave labor today (such as cheap goods from Temu made in the Xinjiang Uyghur “reeducation” camps)…
Cocoa still employs child slave labour in its harvesting on the Ivory Coast. It’s blended in the majority of the global cocoa supply. The only way to avoid it is to buy and consume “Fairtrade” cocoa products. Or just keep on ignoring the dirty feeling and enjoying cheap chocolate.
Come on guys, really? Are we really saying "There was a fly!" Then "Well I didn't see it when I watched back, but they might have edited it". These kind of topics really do a disservice to science and promote anti-intellectualism.
If I was billionaire I would spend 200 million of my money to fake a space mission, well no I wouldn’t as it wasn’t faked because it wouldn’t cost 200 million to fake it. A couple green screens and some trick photography isn’t that pricy.
Musk has too many haters to even try to fake shit at this stage FAA FCC etc would just ban him from getting a license forever the dude gas too many haters
lol this why youtubers are loosing credibility everyday. it was a great platform until people figure out you could spew anything and people will click on it and you win. disgusting
Disliking and hiding this channel from my feed - what an utterly stupid thing to even discuss, regardless of what you personally think. You are everything that's wrong with humanity.
The private space missions by SpaceX like Inspiration 4, Axios, and now Polaris Dawn are considered commercial astronauts. They are not claiming it to be their profession just something that they have done.
First and last viewing. Skipped all the way to 18mins 39 sec, paused at 30mins 14 sec.. this is honestly an uninteresting podcast. Martin, is a closet skeptic and Robin only has opinions, whereas Alex, brings the facts for the others to make a face at and disagree with him. Not much of a podcast and not worth the time you'll get back.
Gents, i think spacefarer should be that name; especially since, at least in the US, astronauts are military personnel a lot of the time, or at least have a background in it. Either way they're all government employees
Not watched the show for so long, as I became a transit listener. When I saw a new episode while home I decided to watch this one. OMG I seriously thought a young Bill Oddie was on the show. Then I realised it was Alex.
