The Green Gathering: a festival 'beyond hedonism' powered by wind, sun and people. Music, crafts, campaigns, debates, alt-tech, spoken word... a temporary off-grid community in a gorgeous location. Commissioned by, and raising funds for, the Green Gathering Charity which promotes education for sustainability via hands-on interactive learning and the arts.
i didnt realise fancy dress was compulsory but well done , you nailed Bill And Ben perfectly! Talk about overthinking it for the crowd yeah yeah yeah .. great speech as per usual, who was there, your 141 subscribers? cut a long story short? I’m waiting for you to cut it short full stop mate boring!!!🛑 cant wait for the “ I’ve just come back from conference where i gave a speech about… “ video as ive run out of sleepers such a self serving precocious jerk
Great talk and something I'm very interested in. It was stated that profit has to be made from produce and can't be made from services. Does that mean that once you meet those targets you can then also provide services or does it mean that services are not allowed under the scheme?
When you do a bit of digging you soon find out that these kinds of festivals are more often than not run by power mad trustafarian types with a very corporate dystopian underbelly.
@@davidjones638 and still using lots of carbon, on there massive journey to the other side of the world (and back). I find it so hypocritical, that they talk about a smaller carbon footprint, when embarking on such a trip.

I do agree ! Lived with him in south of France in the seventies, when he actually was sure he would not become older than 30 years old m being the hero of my little son , because he did not brush his teeth and fix his shoelaces !
Andrew Simms....this was the guy who predicted in 2008 that we had only 100 months to act to stop irreversible climate change! LMFAO @ this idiot......It was clearly a load of unsupported drivel fifteen years ago because nothing happened and another 100 months on, now 200 months and nothing has changed. It was drivel back then and its drivel now. I call for these people who platform themselves as self appointed crystal ball gazing scaremongers to face charges, fines and jail. Just as you cant threaten people without consequences then you should also not be allowed to deliberately set out to frighten people with unsubstantiated garbage without facing consequences. Listen to this idiot at your own peril. Or you could study the real science and the real data and call these idiots out and bring them to account.
Thanks for posting. Amongst my favourite bands, though it's been a while since I saw them live. Great to see they retain that belief and energy, wonderful words, harmonies and rhythms. Leaves me guilty I don't "do" enough!
Very interesting and informative talk. Really updated my knowledge of renewables and made me question why we haven't moved faster to make the switch to green energy production. With such a range of possibilities the tired excuse of 'the sun doesn't always shine and the wind doesn't always blow' just doesn't wash any more!
Oh what memories. Thanks @seizetheday. I have to admit the High Hills Lament bought a tear to my eye. Happy travels Theo, Shannon and Rosa, look forward to seeing you next year and hear of your adventures.
Biogas is still a greenhouse gas, whether it is cows, grass, or ancient vegetation making it. It may have its place but heat pumps have to be the preferred option for heating. Electricity can be made with less greenhouse impact.
Finally an environmental talk that makes sense. I never knew much about renewable energy, but Fergal explains it in a very entertaining easy to understand way.
I admireand find it a great belly laugh the way you poke fun at the pompous hierarchies.... Much love, laughter to your grand self/s! (Gutted I mssed you!)... Catch you next year maybe ;)
You clever beastie! (3 Ticks a star!) You connect all those changes of social paradigm-shifts in a grand way! Thankyou for reminding myself/s (and many others)about the ineffable -positive changes and experiences we seem to forget almost instantly once we enter consensus-realities agian in our parardigms!..... Anyway..... you have whhooped myself/s up... Yer fecking inspiring!
Hey, hey, an electric motorcycle! I'd by one. There's a few manufacturers out there but the big bike makers are mostly ignoring the obvious direct it's going in.
We loved all the talks, this one especially, thank you Green Gathering. Can I ask, will you be putting the remaining talks up? I'm keen to see the person who filled the tbc slot on Sunday morning - he was excellent about immigration but I missed the start and don't know who he was
