Great stuff. Well done on getting it played whilst in the crowd 🤯. Great to do a breakdown of an actual signed track like this. I can't think of any other similar youtubers doing this? Apart from Dilby. You are both practicing what you preach. Any chance of the project file for patron members? I think there's only serum, pigments and trackspacer in there that's not stock. Or is it for other reasons like copyright when a track is signed? I don't know anything about this area. I could have watched another 20 minutes of this, including fx. Thanks again.

About the lush atmosferic driving vibe I like to think it as a cinematic scene, kind of like inspiring music for movies, you end up with a ton of atmos, pads and strings, then you put the drums and the bass and your done.

That one was a lot of stems from Rich so it wouldn't be a very good video unfortunately as most of the back and forth we had frozen the tracks so I only have audio mostly. :/

I’ve been producing trance the last couple of years and now moving into progressive house and these tutorials are a goldmine of information. I’m so looking forward to learning from you.
Great tips! Here some additional: 1.Further away = changes in dynamic are less noticable --> use a bit of compression without too much make up gain to avoid the details to come back which would be the opposite of a sound further away. Reverb also does something similar with the dynamic range. Mixed with the wet signal the sounds dynamics get smoothed a little. 2. Sometime a high pass can help to push something further back.
Funny thing is, I’ve never seen Ben Bohmers PML tutorial. ;) another funny thing is, he didn’t invent this, it’s been around for a long time, so others are able to find it organically, and lastly, even if I did learn it from another person, I’m not copying it by doing it? If you do it now does that mean you copied it from Ben or me? If you use any of these tips in this video are you copying me? No! Of course not. :) just enjoy making music, mate!

@@DowdenProductionAcademy when you record your automation to a separate track - let's say you play around with synth (track 1) and the cut off to get some interesting sounds you can chop up. The track you record into (armed track 2) is called mud track. So you record mud into it and then pick out best sounds.
@@DowdenProductionAcademy I think it shows my age 😂😂😂😂 I got this from when I used to record stuff with my band in the studio. But it's great if you have an analog synth and record a freestyle session into an ableton track and pick your best bits. Love your stuff btw 👌 taking part in the remix contest too, thanks for all the hard work
