i have been watching producer masterclass videos for over 15 years. i have unfortunatley lost my drive to make my own music, but still love to watch and listen. this video is THE BEST Bassline Video i have EVER come across.. this knowledge and especially really easy to pull off sounds with just built in plug ins is a game changer and outstanding! Big shout out to this channel! Just subbed. Have demos that I’ve been dragging to submit (to a few labels mentioned here)- and while I work in Reason Studios, the tutorial here translates really well. I think I’ve been over processing and hugging my bass tones to death and by stripping things to self modulated wave table it really makes my tracks sound better.

Thanks! It's basically the exact same thing. You just get a bit more control with the midside EQ. I don't know if there is any different in linear phase or anything, but I don't think so.
Great as usual. Short question. Is it better for the mono frequencies to use your MS Eq or the mono function in the Utility? That’s the way I do it normally.
I usually use a better reverb than the stock, tbh! I didn't even notice (recently switched over to Mac and all my default settings are back to default - will go fix this, thanks for the heads up)

One thing I noticed that you didnt cover was the relationship to the kick. All these basses are super low. And they're also playing at the same time as the kick? Thought that was a no no?
Good point! I used a strong sidechain compressor on the main group. It's totally fine to play bass notes same time as compressor, as long as they are being cut out when the kick is playing. Either with automation, EQ, not overlapping the sub notes, or sidechain, etc.
The way you are carrying and categorizing everything about underground deep progressive, if you once become a top 5 dj/producer make sure to make a book out of it. It's too much technical and know how information, that even most of producers at the top aren't aware of all the theory of their sounds.
