OVERHEAD is an innovative studio focused on creative photogrammetry. We are using the technology of photogrammetry, laser scanning and drone surveying to turn a terrain or an object into a 3D model with subcentimeter accuracy and bring into virtual reality.
We don't let the result of the project up to people's imagination. We show them what they couldn't have ever imagine.
Hi Guys, Again, another great project. Do you have specs for PCs that you are using? We try to optimize our workflows with scanning and photogrammetry - it always take a lot of time. Maybe we can connect somehow? Best Karol
Hi Karol, we are providing also consultations and trainings as authorized service partner of RC/EpicGames. Feel free to reach out to our email info@overhead4d.com and we can discuss your needs. We are happy to help
Hi. Thank you. We are using high performance workstation and we have many various configurations. Looking at GPU, we are using Quadro card, RTX 4090 etc.
Hi, thank you for quick response@@Overhead4D ! What about CPU? For CPU: do you think Intel works better with clouds? As I understand the logic behind RAM is "the more the better". Best Karol
so cool , your channel is underratted. ; discovered today . very cool . can i use some video with credits ? in order to show the uses of photogrammetry , and GS in VR ? thanks
After watching the second video: color on this one seems washed out, and the detail is not really there, at least as shown. The other one feels magnificent in comparison [prolly also the time of day difference]. You might wanna film the next ones with HMD not on your head, shakiness does not help both with perceived detail and with yt compression algorithm struggling to keep up. Also you might want to check what color space you are working with on Q3. It is different than Q2. Over all it is extremally cool that you have a client on that work, and the content is GOOD. Keep it up!
I really want a game that uses photogrammetry that looks nearly identical to the real world and make a game from it i know msfs does but bits really rough i would love to feel like i am in the real world with real lighting A racing game maybe drivin through actual town with the actual road surface not a 3d reimagine but an actual replica where it all feels surreal
Many of the current games are using photogrammetry, but unfortunately the biggest miracles in the photorealism are making the high res textures. And the amount of the textures is still somehow limited in gaming industry... even with UnrealEngine5 and nanite
The request from our client was to make the birth view VR, as it is part of the exhibition directly in the castle and the visitors can see the place from the ground level in real. But technically its just about positioning the "walking level" lower, so it would be a problem at all. You can take a look also on the second video from this project here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ne0xCRTsSHY.html
@@PrimyFritzellz Google Earth is still great sure, but I would like to see the difference in the greenery with Gaussian Splatting in VR. Google just uses "old-school" photogrammetry for their map data.
You hit the point :) gaussian splatting does magic with vegetation, but it has its limits and thats the distance. If you come to close you will start to see the "splats". So in close up details the traditional PG is still winning but from a distance is GS the leader. Check this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ne0xCRTsSHY.html
The video was supposed to show the same area textured as well as shaded and therefore its done in this way. Otherwise we would have to make two loops all around and that would extend the video significantly. But anyways thank you for your comment and opinion.
The biggest advantage is that you see your already shooted images through AR placed in the space and you see live, how the mesh quality is getting better while adding some images. So like this, you cant miss by mistake any spot while shooting. That means the advantage is not on speed but on not making mistakes on site
Dear Overhead4D Team. I am a really fan of all your projects and works, creative photogtammetry is what really identify you. I am really interested in photogrammetry world and to map indoor for interior inspections, but I am wondering how can you geo tagged images captured in an indoor area. I would really appreciate if you could help with this information. Best regards
Thank you :) we are happy you like our work. If you want to get very precise and accurate geo-referencing you would need to make few GCPs outside of the building with GNSS station and link it with interior. That's how we normally do it.
Surový sken z RC zobrazený v real time pomocou Twinsity

@@Overhead4D pecka no , skolenie nerobite na fotogrametriu? :)
Amazing! What did you shoot this with? I really want to dive into this work but have some mobility issues... Is it possible to do "great" scans with latest android/iphone (and maybe an osmo mobile) ? I have pro nikon dslr / Ronin S but briefly seeing all the angles in this ... man! I just don't know if I could pull it off
Hi Steve, pictures were made by Nikon camera, but some of our smaller scans were made also by smartphone. So yes it is possible to create a nice 3D scan also by smartphone.
