By scanning the world around us, we can preserve the current state for future generations and by combining it with knowledge from historians, we can bring the past to life.
A digital copy of Czech castle Krivoklat has been created from almost 8500 photos processed in #RealityCapture. Subsequently, we have made the exact copy of no longer existing part of the castle, Mansky house from the 15th century. This was done under the supervision of the castle's director, the Czech Institute of archeology, and the monuments board of Czechia. The fire that you see in the simulation represents the real event that caused the destruction of the castle.
Unreal Engine 5 has been used to combine the 3D scan of the castle with the modeled part of the castle and with the help of small nature assets from Quixel Megascans library we have completed the scenery.
The project results will be accessible as a part of the castle’s exposition.
