I'm a gamer, and an atheist. I'm here because I think it's important for me to challenge my own opinions by listening to people who disagree with me. I want to be respectful and offer a perspective you might not hear often. Gamers, the ones who are serious about it, know that some games - SOME games - are designed to be addictive. It's actually a big problem in the industry that a lot of us are fighting against. We've been trying to have laws implemented that would limit the marketing of these games to children. It's akin to gambling and we don't want those mechanics gaining traction over the rest of the industry. You can do some research on Electronic Arts and Lootboxes if you're interested - it's by far the most famous issue but not the only one. With that being said, MOST games are no more addictive than books or movies. In fact, a particular game led to my career as an architectural draftsman. There are three games in particular that I play with my family to connect and bond over, and a few others I play for artistic expression. Some of my favorites contain well written stories with morals. You can't paint gaming with the same brush. They're not all the same, and there is a difference between spending two hours on a weekend playing House Flipper with your mother, and dropping $100 on a Lootbox or a League skin so you can look slightly different during your 10th hour of gameplay on a Tuesday.

So I have a story. The Lord revealed to me around 2011, that the 1611 Bible is the true Bible in English. Since then my life has changed. When you start hanging with Jesus, there will be trouble, along with the blessings that come along with walking with the Father, in Jesus. Anyhow, a "trippy" thing that happened to me, is that my family broke up. It was most certainly a spiritual attack. The interesting thing is, that churches (yes more than one church, more than one person) told my wife that it was ok to leave her family, because I read the King James Bible. Recently, after the dust has settled on this event, (seven years ago now). I realize that there is a huge backlash in the Evangelical Church. So, I guess, according to some, if you read the King James, you don't deserve to have a wife and family.
