Yo wtf, we have the same last name. Where are you from? I just happened to click this video to check out some grilling techniques and hearing you say your last name really threw me off as it's not common at all... I'm from north west PA, but I heard there are some in Chicago too. You literally have the same name as my dad and nanu and look like a younger version of my nanu.
The cooks are non stop and been trying to post videos. Kids are starting to move out and my retirement is not to far along. Just wish I had more time to pull out the camera.
Some helpful hints for you , use a wireless thermometer so you wont have to keep opening the grill, also i put a few chunks of apple or hickory wood on it for extra flavor, also very important you are not letting your meat rest long enough thats why all those great juices are leaking out of the meat, i pull my roast at 140 degrees and wrap in foil then i wrap in a bath towel and put in a cooler for 1 hour, then take out and carve, all those juices stay in the meat, you will have the best pork ever
I have a question for you. I just recieved my Santa Maria Style grill attachment, and my supposed to be 22" webber, the attachment doesn't fit, it's too big, not by much, 1/4" maybe. My webber is old, so, i can't figure out if my webber is just a little smaller than normal or what. Help me with this puzzel
That shouldn't of mattered. I wash my grates before putting them in the pit. Not sure about the erh code. Hopefully you get it figured out. I haven't had any issues with mine.
After putting everything back in it was able to burn off everything without overheating. The booklet never said to put everything back in for the burn off
I don’t get any smoke while grilling my chicken.. I have it at 350 then it goes all the way up to 370.. what should I do to get good smoke and have the temp stay atleast 10 degrees over? Is it the pellet I use?
Just wondering how well the rotisserie is holding up? Had any maintenance problems with it. Also, who built your mobile unit? Great videos. Thank you for sharing!
The firebox sagging is not unusual for Oklahoma Joe offset smokers. Hopefully, that problem has been addressed because I am going to buy the same unit as you have!
I'm getting ready to buy the Oklahoma Longhorn, but now that I see your other smoker with the sagging compartment I am a bit reluctant! What do you think? My other off-set smoker doesn't have that problem!
@@BBQJOE I've used it three times since I posted that reply (I won't use it when it's raining and it seems to always be raining here in coastal North Carolina). The other night a smoked a beef rump roast. Tonight, I turned those left overs into street tacos!
@CZPanthyr That's sounds delicious! It'll be raining all next week for us. Camp season opens soon so once it dries up I'm going to more cooks and share the results.
did you ever get the problem with the firebox hanging too low. if you had to fix it what did you do. i have one myself. the only way i can see would be either to make a support from the bottom of the firebox angled down to the lower shelf frame bolted at each end. if its strong enough to support it. they did put 2 horizontal metal angles across the inside wall and the inside of the firebox wall. not sure if there is a way to run 2 vertical angle strips to stiffen up the wall more. anyway i will watch out for your reply. u have some cool videos. nice job.
Just wondering if you still have this grill attachment and if it has held up. Titan is under a different company name now, and i have one in my cart with a sale price shipped to my house for $135. Is it worth the higher price?
Sorry for the late response but yes I still own mine and love it. Been using it for years now. I honestly was looking at the ones on Amazon that comes with the rotisserie motor for around the same price.
I forgot to mention that this grill looks almost identical to the Traeger Tailgater. There are a couple of improvements that the King Chii brings such as improved handle on lid, upper rack, larger hopper, half the price, etc. I don't know if the construction is as robust as the Tailgater which really isn't robust compared some of the other Traeger models. After all, It's a portable and relatively easy to load into an rv or back of truck.
