So cool! I love Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen's harmonicas in their music, but I've never heard a whole song using the harmonica as the main instrument! Sounds very cowboy-ish.
Long ago, he was a grounds keeper here at LSU, and he quit to go to Chicago seeking musical fame and fortune, which he found. Ten years ago, he received an honorary doctorate from LSU for his music, and was presented with a purple and gold tiger-striped Strat (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TE0X8dXg3cU.html).
Yessiree bobcat tail, so happy I had the pleasure to watch Stevie Ray tear up the stage at Pier 84 in NYC in 1983 or perhaps it was '84. Guitar strings broke from the brutal force of the Texan's fingers. And holy 🤬ck, when the guitar strap unexpectedly unhooked, I swear it was mind-blowing to view Stevie play his white guitar with nothing more than his 🤬king head - nothing else. Throughout the "slip the security gaurd $10 to gain entry" concert, SRV's customized instruments screamed out distinct sounds like no one else before or since. Amazing what $10 got ya when I was in my 20's and f🤬ckin' musicians actually played their own 🤬damn instruments. What a great time, until... At 61+ years of age, now, I'm not to proud to let inform all y'all, YES I CRIED for days, weeks,...when reality set in - with me acknowledging/accepting SRV was truly fu🤬ing gone.THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER😢😢❤
I've noticed my attention span getting worse as of late, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to force myself to just sit still for s couplr minutes and experience a cool piece of art, and wow I was right! The music was so beautiful and thst combined with the visuals of the shadows from the water almost put me into a trance lol. Great experience and 10/10 peice of art. Good job.
Nobody mentions the slight “intonations” on his vocal. Stevie Rays deep growly southern drawl, and the higher octave at the end of lyrics - almost like a hiccup - I LOVE his voice!! Super Talented ALL the WAY!!! 😘🎉❤💃💠💠💠 Blues LEGEND!!!
I came home this morning Oh what a shock When I found out my key No longer fit my lock Oh baby You just go right back out there where you've been 'Cause while you were slippin' out Oh someone else was slippin' in I thought I was your fool That you could count on One was right there When no one else is at home But oh baby I think I found myself a new friend But while you were slippin' out Oh Lord, someone else was slippin' in Now cry your heart out Oh you don't mean a thing to me I'm a brand new man And you can plainly see A new way to walk people and of wearin' my hair This big smile you see on my face You didn't put it there I got a new way of wearin' my hair This big smile on my face babe You didn't put it there Oh baby You just take me back out there where you've been 'Cause while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in Oh Lord Now cry your heart out Oh you don't mean a thing to me I'm a brand new man Even Stevie Wonder can see A new way to walk people and of wearin' my hair This big smile on my face baby You didn't put it there I got a new way of wearin' my hair This big smile on my face You didn't put it there Oh baby You just go right back out there where you've been 'Cause while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in I said while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in I said while you were slippin' out Oh someone else was slippin' in I said while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in
Man you just gotta love Stevie, I never seen him play this guitar before. Hardtail with maple board and if you look he has the same tuners as number one does. I'm pretty sure he played over half this song with a broken string cause you can see it flopping around at several points.
I want to reach through the screen and tell him to stay off the helicopter and dump the user gold digger and stay off the phone, lol poor Stevie gone too soon RIP
