Doesn't matter what Stevie would say because we know how generous and humble he was. Stevie stated that Jimmy Vaughan was better than him. EVERYONE knows the real truth there. If you think Hendrix was better that's fine but, your comment holds no relevence in reality. Jimi was a true original gifted in creativity. SRV was gifted as an exceptional player with incredible tone and improvisational skills clearly surpassing most everyone that I can think of including Hendrix.
So you would rather of had Stevie die in the Helicopter while he was still on drugs? You wouldn't want him to be clean? All I'm saying is that he seemed much happier when he was clean.
Before the concert began, there were several southern state flags (rebel flag)among the audience.Stevie went on the tendon, and refused to play, until all the rebel flags w......as gone. I'm from... texsas, but I'm not a rasist, he said and left tendon. 5 minutes later was all rebel flags away, and Stevie kick started the best concert I have ever experienced Vis mere Vis mere
I watch Stevie Ray Vaughan, every day! He was a brilliant performer, and he was a special talent that never will be again. People try to play like Stevie Ray, but they can not attain his talent. It's a fact!
There will never be another Stevie Ray Vaughan. He can not be copied...ever. SRV, is beloved by so many of us. Hopefully those who haven't had the privilege of discovering the"Blues" just yet, will be turned on to it. It's a wonderful genre. SRV revived the Blue's, and made it come back to life. All in all, he put his own stamp on it. His own interpretation of it. A sort of, Blue's Rockin Jazz. Watching him play live is such a gift. 🌟 Many "Bluesmen" came before Stevie, and he had such an appreciation for them. If I could speak to Stevie today, I would thank him for having such a humble spirit. His music lives on.
While you are listening to this song, or any with SRV. Stop the video, preferably just after a solo. Then think for a moment, this man was real. All that talent, all that raw blues power, all that awesome. This is not fictional, it's real... *mind exploding here*
The thing about Stevie, is that he was never arrogant to think he was the best. He high respect for the former/older bluesmen. This is why he is great.
Best guitarist that I ever saw live in concert . Blew me away . Saw him in '87 I think at a small college up here in maine . Maybe 800 or 900 people at the most . was 10 feet from stage and was just blown away . Was his first stop on comeback tour after he cleaned up his act ( drugwise ) . And he was at the top of his game . We all got robbed bigtime when he left us Thanks for the music SRV . Thanks for posting this gaukur . Thanks for the flashback . It means a lot to me .
SRV's playing was magical. So effortless that he just thought about the music and it would flow out. Practiced to the point that the music was just a part of him. He simply looks naked without his guitar. Never lost on the fretboard. Always the precise note. No need to look at the strings. Who today is working that hard for their music?
