Welcome to Scarfulhu - a guide to the weird and wonderful world of retro PC games (and more!). I take a look at classic titles, often point 'n' clicks, and guide you through the games while giving my thoughts! They're part review, part walkthrough, part retrospective, and all fun!

I played this game when i was a teen and loved it, i loved both Blood 2 and Shogo MAD and while yes, Blood 2 has issues, there were patches back then that came in pc magazines of the time that fixed a lot of issues, specially the one when the enemies just stood in their place without attacking.
Sometimes I love the RU-vid algorithm for recommending people like you haha. I remember my own bionicle creations, takes me on a trip down memory lane haha. Great video, dude, you've earned yourself a new subscriber!
If you're looking for more of the same then you don't need something new. It's been so long and there's many different looks so what's the point of getting mad about a new look, I don't get it
I loved the set pieces, the psychological make up of the story, levels, and subtle meanings. The pretty interesting story told in such a different way. The gameplay isn't the best but still a great vehicle for all it offers.
I grew up with this and the other buold engine games. I remember getting Duke 3D for Christmas one year, and blood for the next, if im not mistaken. I had books on map building and i meased with rhe map editor. Mannnnn so mucg nostalgia, and the in game graphics really hold up.
For some explanation as to why Makuta allows taca nuva to win is because his whole plan involved allowing the great spirit to be awakened so that he can take it over (leading to one of the best bionicle animations ever)
The soundtrack is amazing.... stil got the cd-rom! :D And there was some cool in game things I specifically remember. The scope on the rifle felt so cool and real. and I really liked the card style life and bullet counters at the bottom "hud". suited the game perfectly.
Gali could cure the poison because poison is the enemy of the purity (the principal of water) and the rakshi of hunger beat Onua because hunger is the enemy of prosperity (the principal of earth). The rakshi are basically the Bionicle version of the seven deadly sins.
I remember getting a shareware copy of blood around 1997ish and installing it at midnight on a pc in the front room on normal difficulty. An hour later I was mesmerized by the game. It always bothered me that I never finished the game due to difficulty as a kid. A few years ago I grabbed a copy of the game but the mood wasn't perfect. So I decided to wait to make my first time beating Blood special. A few months later the perfect mood hit me, I stocked up on all my favorite snacks and soda. Took some time off work. Turned out all my lights. Turned on some light cricket noises in background and waited till midnight to recreate that first time I played the shareware. I played the whole thing thru on "well done" almost nonstop the whole weekend using a sourceport. It was absolutely magical. I kept cycling between a sense of contentment and frustration until the very end when I finished the game. At the end when it was all over I felt a little depressed, until I learned about Deathwish... I've been waiting on the perfect mood. 😅
Definately my favorate of the Bionicle films, the first one tries too hard to be Lord of the Rings, the second one tries to introduce and develop six main characters in an hour and ten minutes and the results are as rushed as you'd expect, but web of shadows keeps the focus on Vakama and has its own story that doesn't feel out of place, it's also the best animated of the three. And I don't know, the protagonist becomming the villain is one of my favorate tropes.
Reguardless of the quality of the movie, it doesn't deserve what happenned to it, you can't currently watch this film anywhere, many people, myself included may never watch it.
I actually really like the sword fighting in this game. It being mixed with the pirate battles makes for a better sense of pacing. You have to do them after each battle to progress up to the final battle to win the map. That way, you'll naturally gain all the insults you'd need for the actual puzzle of using the combacks with new set ups. It makes it so the ship battles make or break the section, but I like it just find as a sort of intermission chapter.
it seems you weren't aware that each weapon has an alternative fire mode, such as the double barrel shotgungms being able to fire only one barrel at a time. makes a big difference to gameplay. thank you so much for covering a retro favourite of mine :)
never really liked the movie either, and the Island of Mata Nui at the beginning doesn't really look right looking at where the biomes are especially Ko-Wahi, and things were just a lot better with the first 3, Mask Of Light still being my favorite and should have been a theatrical release
-97' this game came in two CDs (rarity at that time) -it had mouse look(even if it didn't need it), sprint & breath systems -music is better than any western ever made -story is top class even if build by 6min of cutscenes all put together -the gameplay and the guns feel just right and are never redundant (also 1st fps with alternative fire on gun) -it works just fine on modern systems and OSes Outlaws was a pioneer FPS. I will always love this game.
Im sure once i beat captain rottenham s ship with the cannons one level below. Might have took several tries. ... I also beat the tourist boat. Much easier.
Okay, let's be honest, all these movies were pretty much bad. Like seriously, and we love them just because they are our childhood and because it's bionicle.
There is never anything wrong with Bionicle for me, I speak for this movie, the original trilogy, and the Netflix series which got me into Bionicle in the first place.
Getting nostalgia / flashbacks to a different era re-watching this old vids from you. Jordan Underneath reference, man, it was a different time and era in RU-vid. I hope you're doing well Scarf
