They need to just bring these PSVR2 games to PCVR instead of trying to get people onto the PS5. PC PLAYERS DONT WANT TO BUY CONSOLES AND WOULD RATHER MAKE VR MODS FOR GAMES INSTEAD OF BUYING A PSVR2 and a PS5.
Sony needs to port their psvr1 games to the psvr2 and make them available to pc users too. It's their only chance if they want to give quest 3 a match. Really excited for this as I can't stand compression.
I'm a cyclist, would they fit on a helmet? how good would they be in turn by turn navigation . How does the realtime battery last. can you add a power bank to it?
Will your GPU need USB-C though. I am not sure my 6800 has that. I haven't looked. It has display port 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 we shall see I cannot see it using USB-C when hardly any GPU's use USB-C
going back to those old lenses and lower resolution just to decrease the price a little bit seems weird there's no way those panels are that much cheaper. maybe they are lowering the price of the quest3 as well by like $100 but removing the bundled asgards wrath2 game. so $199 Quest2, $299 quest3s, $399 quest3 128GB, $499 512GB? Calling it S for Slim when it's not at all slimmer seems weird. maybe it's a Quest3 Super with Qualcomms xr2+ gen2 chip and higher PPD?
My cv 1 didn't look all that bad until my friend bought quest 2 and i helped him configure it. Im shocked at the technological jump and how cheap it became.
Low price was the main factor which put the Quest 2 in everyone's hands. Being cheap enough to take the risk without ever having tried it was the only reason I got into VR. Having become hooked, pancake lenses, real ipd adjustment and higher resolution convinced me to buy a Quest 3. Of course I mostly use PCVR, so the clarity of the pancake lenses and the higher resolution are extremely obvious. Even though the clarity for reading text is still a massive improvement with the pancake lenses in standalone, for gaming it's less noticeable due to the downscaling and performance limitations. Even with the Quest 2 display stack and the Quest 3 processor, there's still going to be a lot of downscaling. Given the relative failure of the Pro, and the focus on standalone, gaming and broadening the market, it makes sense that they prioritised releasing a cheaper headset with better processing power.
I didn’t fully watch the video but how is PSVR2 the cheapest when the Quest 2 and 3 exist and are great for PC? Even fully wireless with Virtual Desktop or Airlink. Even a Quest 1 can still be used despite its flaws.
So the Pico 4 S will be an upgrade and the Quest 3 S will be a downgrade. I'm def staying with Pico. I think other commenters were right, this is just Meta getting rid of unused stock. Should have called it something else.
WHY do I need to own a PC when PS5 is so powerful? I wish SONY would make a custom OS (very open one... snicker... right) that would go head to head with Windows and MacOS. You buy a PS5, cheap as hell from PC perspective. You can load steam on it, PSVR on either side. In the PS interface or in their desktop. Sony phones and TVs could all mesh with it, make a more cohesive ecosystem. Hell, they make nice monitors also, matchy match the sony products like alientware does... they have that already. I hope this PSVR on PC thing is a precursor to this. ( I know I know )
I'm an Index user fresnel lenses are not an issue for me if the quest 3s uses the same controllers as the quest 3 then I will have to say no I hate the Quest 3's tracking I prefer the Index and the Quest 2's tracking over they quest 3 anyday
My PCVR is a Pimax 8KX, which I've had for a while and find it to be quite good (after I got a PC upgrade and a RTC4080). I already have the PSVR2 and I will try it on the PC. When it was released for PS5, I was thinking that if this was on a PC, everyone would be raving about the features. I've had 3 other PCVR Headsets (Vive, Vive Pro and a useless Reverb G2 (it is just too small and uncomfortable for a large head). I have tried a Vive Pro 2 and returned it, max IPD was too small). I think the PSVR2 would be great value as a PCVR headset.
Now they just need m-oled version with eye tracking and Index sound. Fresnel lenses are fine for what they are think you are making it seem way worse then it is lol.
I agree with this, good fresnels Are pretty good. If you Come from a vive sure youll think fresnels Are super bad. But the quest 1 and 2 have pretty good lenses.
