Hi Sam, I would always avoid using the word 'holographic' when the technology is not holographic, but congrats on the results. 3D lenticulars are still (or again) very relevant! Interlacing may at first be a daunting task, but I managed to make it quite an easy task in Maxon's Cinema 4D. Now it only takes just a few, albeit intricate steps (that I devised myself) to interlace any number of images!
This was Spectacular (not to be confused with lenticular)! Totally subscribed--- can't wait to see what else you made. This was so helpful and informative... I've wanted to make lenticulars since I was a kid... and just ran across someone else with the same dream... so... research started today-- this was so well made and informative! Thanks!
Awesome video! These are great gifts. One tight Christmas we went to Goodwill and found a bunch of old law and text books for a couple bucks a piece and did this for every family member. You can pick a title/style that fits the person you’re giving it to. Most of the men used these for their firearms and the women used them for jewelry. Using spring clamps helps a lot for the gluing/setting process. Using a ruler or square helps with cutting straight lines in the first layer of pages. Once the pages are cut, gluing the inside helps keep it all together more securely. You can cover up the inner imperfections with a small swatch of velvet or felt. Measuring the perimeter plus depth, then cutting slits in the fabric corners lays it in nice and neatly. Another nice touch is buying or printing a book plate and putting the person’s name on it and pasting it onto the inner cover or first page. This takes a lot of time, but very little in cost in supplies. And the recipient gets a gift they’ll cherish for life.
This video was unreal. I wanted to learn about lenticular printing, and instead ended up watching a cinematic masterpiece. Thrilling watch from start to finish.
Somehow you remind me of Josh Stewart haha. Cool project. I really like stop motion. I remember seeing all these oldschool movies as a kid. The most recent i watched was "Junk Head" ...even here on YT. Really crazy and funny at the sime time.
That remind me of zebra holographics plates. This is astonishing that you managed to do it by yourself and frustrating from their part because they did something outragously interesting but nothing more in years ! For almost 10 years i was dreaming of '3d' posters doable with all in one solution from A to Z (including apps, sheats, lenticular stickers, or even personal printers specialized for that purpose). I liked your video a lot, thanks for that keen research and time spent on it !
i recently made a stopmotion. if you want it to be very simple, like someone walking, very easy. the lego soup in the beginning is VERY hard though. so it depends on what type u wanna do
Do you have a method for making a stereoscopic version using just 2 images? I would love to make a poster sized version that can display left-eye and right-eye images from a comfortable distance. Seems doable but probably more complicated than I think haha
hey uhm i don't mean to put you down, I know you might like animating but, Theres a very good reason people replicate videos that get them a lot of views. I personally like your animations and editing, but. RU-vid is cruel, So just know what works. (I am just giving information to help you no going like "AAA YOU SHOULD DELETE THESE VIDEOS AND STUFF" I like them Its just If you ever want to do what RU-vid makes work. ❤
Haha yeah tutorials aren’t my forte, although for this project I did make a separate video explaining the whole process on my second channel. Hope that helps 😆
