It definitely seems that way but being that this was his first bear ever he wanted to be very sure of his shot. Adrenaline definitely got the best of him for moving around but you’d be surprised how many experienced hunters struggle with this when seeing their first bear. He made sure to wait for a broadside or quartering away shot and the first few opportunities he couldn’t hear me give him the go ahead. In the end he ended up making a perfect shot on a gorgeous bear that would have some of the best hunter’s shaking in their boots. Thanks for watching and the comment👍
First thing I wanna say is Sorry for the loss of your Grandpaw. Second thing, that's a Heckuva buck, Congrats. Also wanted to ask how that First Lite worked as far as keeping you warm, and which suit was you wearing and what layers if you don't mind me asking
Hey @mississippibowhunter2305 thank you, I appreciate the comment. I was wearing the First Lite sanctuary system 1.0. Great suite but it was lacking windproof. Since then I’ve upgraded to the 2.0 which has windproof and it’s awesome. Quiet, warm and comfortable fit. IMO it’s the best suite for cold conditions
My hunting partner my papa Marlin passed in the middle of deer season two years back. I was having a hard morning in the woods. Decided to walk to a new spot just to get out of the stand I just wasn’t feeling it.. I then walked right up to the biggest buck of my life at 7 yards and got him down. Our gramps are always in the woods with us. God bless you guys

Ignore those ignorant antihunting comments. You are aloud to harvest and eat animals and you are definitely encouraged to enjoy your time outdoors. Management of large Predators is needed. Great job guys!

I believe it is the Knight and Hale - Death Chamber deer call. Not sure if they still make it. Really good call for snort wheezes and doe and buck grunts but freezes up in the cold.

That was a great hunt, amazing deer also I immediately thought of your grandfather on that hunt, the blood on the antlers of the deceased Buck is symbolic of his presence 🙏
It is one of the coolest parts of the hunt for me. Not sure if you caught it but at the end of video, you can see that the blood is in the shape of a heart. That was enough for me to know that grandpa was definitely with me on this hunt. Even crazier, the very next year i hunted with my dad on this same property. Thought it would be fitting as him, my grandpa and I used to bow hunt together. He shot a doe and 30 yards down the blood trail there was blood on a shed that was most likely shredders dads.
