First Time Bear Hunter SHOOTS BIG BEAR!!! Canadian Black Bear Hunt 

You got that right, worst part is the grease stains👎

It may seem like that, and granted thats what the video makes it look like. However, hunting bears and specifically mature bears can be very difficult. Bears have incredible senses, if your moving or making noise, they will often pick you off before you know they're there, and their sense of smell is off the charts. Often a mature bear will circle the bait and if they smell you they won't come in. They also don't always present an easy shot as shown in the video. Three days prior to this hunt, Ty had a nice bear come in but was unable to get a shot. Ty hunted multiple days to get a chance at a mature bear like this one. Hunting bears takes great patience and relies on other skillsets which may be different from other hunting methods.

But if you are trying to fill up your freezer for your family to eat it's a different story - you want every legal advantage.

That is true, marksmanship is important. However, everyone has different levels of shooting ability and having an “easier” shot is preferred as it is the most ethical for the bear. Many of our stands are also set up for archery, which 100 yards would be too far. Being closer to the bait also means that you have to test your skills of staying quiet, making slow and small movements and scent control. Not to mention some great encounters! There are many different ways to hunt, the important thing is to have fun and respect the animal!

What I propose is that, since our "fun" means the death of an animal (and not its "respect"), we have at least some nobility in making an effort in practice, and with firearms, up to 100 meters, perfecting ourselves in developing aim "eye and pulse", in order not to degrade ourselves to the point of having a 100% advantage over the animal. A little chivalry does not make us less of a hunter.

Our fun is more than the death of animal, you should be able to have a fun hunt and not kill a thing. I don’t disagree that firearm practice and perfection is very important, its a great skill every hunter should have. However, I do believe in respecting the animal by taking a very confident shot that will lead to a merciful death rather than purposely challenging ourselves at longer distances and possibly wounding the animal. You should be 100% at 100 yards if that’s where your hunting from too and you lose a lot of the aspects of beating the bears sight, hearing and nose. To each their own, I don’t think there’s a wrong way either way, as long as your confident at the distance👍

@@clearwateroutfitters Very clear logic and reasoning. There are very solid foundations in your words. Personally, it happens that I am a bit demanding of myself in taking the challenges to that limit-line of "effort for our improvement" and "the nobility of giving the animal a minimal opportunity" based on what we can give from "our great advantages"... that is, that these advantages are not so abusive as to take the animal to the point of "zero opportunity for him - absolute helplessness - and the percentage of "advantages" is 100% on our side"... I like that self-demand, as long as there is room to put it into play... Without a doubt, it is not easy to find that balance. But, you see, and I admit it, I'm a complicated guy haha... @@kokobaroko9726your not from America 🇺🇸 you just wouldn’t understand man. A lot of places in America are gonna be different than some other country. A lot of states only allow bear hunting for 5 days out the year with one bear limit per year unless you hunt in a party. We don’t really have forests more so smaller bodies of hard woods and mountains . So really only way to hunt them in my state is hunting party still hunt or bait on private land only
