Great work, I've paid decent money for worse paint jobs than that. Make sure you get proper PPE when spraying especially with lacquer. Eye protection or full face mask or even an air fed hood (expensive) and cover every part of your skin that you can 👍
Can I ask a question. I have new genuine chain kit fitted by specialist. I need to replace the sprocket that runs the hp diesel pump keyway broken. will I need a full timing key to remove the sprocket

This video was a while ago, n43 doesn’t have a problem with rod bearings, but it does often have a problem with oil pressure, which then causes the spun bearings etc.
Good project, you insisted and finally got it running properly! Don't worry about the loss too much. If I think back of decisions I made in life and how much I could've saved if I didn't do this-or-that, it's pretty pointless. You can only go forward. Knowledge and experience isn't expressed in money, but definitely has a great value. Good luck on the 1er!

There is nothing more expensive than a cheap BMW! I have found this out the hard way, multiple times. But it helps us learn as you pointed out. Would love to see the 1 series.

I'd also love to see some content with an E39! preferable a 6cyl petrol, I know you're mostly diesel but yeah. I think they're a bit easier to work on than the most modern ones, I have a pre facelift one and I can manage some bits myself and I'm pretty amateur, cheers
