Just covering my bases between bike and accessories added, they all have varying size nuts and bolts. I did get rid of some redundant sizes after making video.
The K1600GT has more power on the top end but to me the GW was the overall winner. I think the GW feels lighter, more nimble (less top heavy), and more comfortable. The power of the K1600 is awesome but the GW is no slouch. Both great bikes!
@@mjdcycles Because if you ever get pulled over by the police, you'll have to go into your trunk in front of them, thereby giving consent automatically for them to search your vehicle! You should always keep it on your person!
I like the portable air pumps. Give the rear tire access issue some thought. Putting the bike up on the stand will give you rotation and some more room to access the schrader, but I'd HIGHLY recommend a hose extension for the pump. I might also suggest a 90° adapter to get the core turned toward you so you don't have to kink the hose, but I see you already have them built in. Drive safe and enjoy!
Have a 2024 ATAS ES DCT. Looking to pair with a GW Tour DCT. Can you ride comfortably at 80 to 90 without earplugs. (Definitely not possible with the ATAS)
@@harshalyeole5115 I use the speakers with my Sena not Bluetooth headphones. It would be super tight with like AirPods in your ear. I don’t think I could put the helmet on without knocking them out. There is a cutout in the helmet for speakers that go with Sena or Cardo headsets.
i've been using the rever app directly from the phone. i also routed the android auto cable from the glove box to the handlebar perch. the turn by turn comes through the audio (stops the pandora while talking). my bike is a 2022 tour DCT. can you explain how you use rever with the honda navigation. is it a download the gpx file to the thumb drive then plug the thumbdrive into the glove box port and upload to the bike? i assume once uploaded, you reconnect your phone to the port? do you find this nav setup better than rever app?
I use Rever on the phone and computer. I'll make the route on the computer and yes, you export it to the "Goldwing 2019+" option on to a thumb drive. Then take it to bike and use the cubby USB to import to bike through bike Nav menu. I then unplug USB and reconnect USB to phone. I'll also have the route on my phone but Rever does not show your route on CarPlay, it just shows live driving. I end up with the route on the GW and have the phone as a back up. We ran into several spots on our trip where we lost phone signal so if you don't have the route offline on your phone the bike Nav comes in handy. Like I say in the video, just make sure your waypoints are on the road and that you will pass through them so that it doesn't keep trying to reroute you back to the missed waypoint. As a third option, I'll use Google Maps but it usually looks for fastest most direct route and won't look for twisty roads. We used it to find gas or food mostly. Thanks for watching!
Nice bike, love that colour, hoping to purchase my first Gold Wing in the fall, waiting to see if any changes come out on the 2025 model, then its goodbye Harley....
Hey! The stock seat was pretty good. I did have a gel seat pad with me that I alternated between stops some days. After riding all day I don't think any seat stays comfortable.
Could you please provide a link to the Pinnacle mount that you are showing on the left side of the handlebar. Look for it but was not able to come up with it. Thanks
I am trying to be responsible before buying my next bike and plan it a year ahead I either want an my-09, mt-10, or a Suzuki 8s or 8r. I have a 2023 ktm 390 duke which i absolutely love and don’t want to let go but I’ve heard stories of some reliability issue that worry me for the future
There's always something to worry about with every bike, it's part of the charm :) I'd be partial to the MT-09 coming off the 390. To me, it's got more power than the Suzukis you mentioned and the MT-10 might be a big jump. It all depends on your riding skills, ability to have self control, and available $$$. You can find great deals on used MTs.
That's the lead for the "Aux" input. It's wired to the radio head unit. You plug that into the bluetooth amp and the amp connects to your phone via bluetooth.
its been a year over this video maybe but i gotta say this, the o-9 and 10 are very different bikes in its environment, supposedly one is considered a naked and other is "HYPER"naked. now the Hyper comes from the extraordinary torque and kw, even though theres only 1 number between models theres 40% difference overall between two bikes. so its a stupid comparison but whatever. i guess some has to do it anyways.
the tick is a characteristic of this engine i have had 2 MT10's my current is an SP and both have the tick. also everyone i know who has one has the tick
Just happened across a couple of your videos, removing the tank bag and getting your chest flat on the tank, tuck the elbows in to the tank, squeeze the tank with your knees, and slide your ass as far back as possible. Try and get as low as possible so you're actually looking through that small ass windscreen. You wouldn't think things as small as that would help, but it will get to that top speed much quicker when you don't have fairings.
There's only two reasons I keep thinking about an MT10 instead of an MT09 (both SP versions): The sound. Oof Ohlins semi active suspension. People say the KYB fork is good...yeah, sure it is. I doubt it's like an Ohlins semi active fork.
@@mjdcycles thanks bro I will check his video out! I'm getting static but pretty sure it's the AV connections to the, yes 😔, Soundigital 800.4 Evo4.0 amp. They share a common ground but besides that the two infinity fronts sound good. That bike stereo sounded great by the way!
@@mjdcycles I'm using the ds18-ry harness so the AV cables are built in but I do have custom dynamics LEDs all over and all plug n play. I'll check that out tonight after work. My bike is a '21 SGS
@@nohandsdan9353 looks like twisted pair AV cables on that harness. If the static comes through on all sources it may be wiring/ground. If it's only when using the radio, it could be LED light interference. All my sources are clean but a few radio stations got wrecked after installing LED lights.
No. You would use your phone controls via Bluetooth to control skipping tracks. You can still control the volume of the radio on the GW. I run the amp wide open then use the GW volume control. If you want to skip tracks or change songs you use your phone. The GW just sees it as an aux input, it can't control it via BT.
