I still remember the first time ever I listened to "Good times Bad Times" in my usual Record shops ...I was playing lead guitar in those days in the style of Hendrix, Clapton and others. Wow ....first strike : the double kick drums of John Bonham, then the descending and ascending scales of Jimmy Page surrounded by the bass part of JP Jones. Robert Plant ? Yeah ...he was unique right from day one. Something never heard before. Thumbs up guys. The best rock band ever and right from day one.
As a huge fan who has seen Styx 8 times, I appreciate what Dennis meant to the band, but his drama seems like a bit much for the rest of the people in the group. Being happy and without nonsense is the key. Finish strong without the BS. Lawrence is a great addition.
The greatest frontman in the universe. It's perfectly true that singers are especially vulnerable to muscular RSI conditions and need to resist the temptation to drive road vehicles along corridors late at night, especially in public hotels, but other types of musicians also can get these. One particular nasty to which gtr and string players can fall prey is dystonia in the forearm muscles, typically the middle finger of left hand gets too strong and forms a disabling spasm. I can inform if anyone out there has this. Also there's carpal tunnel syndrome to watch out for.. Really great to see Mr Plant! My sister had a plant which she named Robert in his honour, way back in 1978..🎶🌟👍
This is the artist who I love and admire the most in music. After Zep finished so tragically he didn't take the obvious and easy path which a lot of his peers have taken. That spoke volumes for the love and respect he has for John Bonham's memory and their friendship. Says a lot about him as a person that. I saw him live two months ago, and he's still got it. Brilliant. And it's been a great pleasure following him along the said path he has taken.
Robert sidestepped the interviewer , who has that sly passive prurience and agenda to winkle out the dirt, very neatly, and as always, with charm and intelligence. Long may you run
I grew up in the 80s in a tiny little town in the UK listening to ZZ Top. I just couldn’t get enough of them. Loved them then and I love them now. Three dudes bringing in the feeling, the groove and the style.
This sounds similar to all the other bands whose lead singer left in the mid eighties. Peter Cetera and Chicago, Steve Perry and Journey, David Lee Roth and Van Halen, and so on. At least Dennis made it about two and a half decades before getting the axe. All the others made it ten or fifteen years before things soured.
I lost my almost 2 years younger brother in 1983. They were going to help a friend broke down on the hiway. 3 of us were going to see what we could do but my brother told me to stay and wait for the other dudes gf to call. My brother made me stay. 10 minutes later he was killed in a car crash. Could 8 have made a difference? Maybe maybe not. 41 years later I still wonder. But it was years before I got over it. Decades . It rips a whole in your family I had another younger brother 8 years younger and baby sister 9 years old. That whole is still there were were so close 18 months apart.
I HAVE RONNIE MONTROSE ONCE . IN DAYTON OHIO. SEEN 🐝 BEE GEEGS CINCINNATI OHIO 1979 WHEN THEY WERE GREAT . SEEN AT LEDGEN VALLEY OHIO. CHEAP TRICK, EDDIE MONEY ,CARS ,UTOPIA, AWESOME ALMIGHTY CONCERT 😎 👌.
Robert Plant's favorite part about being in Zeppelin? This video: "Y'know...stuff." Real answer: "P*ssy." Don't kid yourself, Bobby. Yeah that's right... I called you Bobby.
Just stopped what I was doing when this came up on que and reflecting so many things. Presence - hardly heard of is one of my top albums. I will never forget "The Rover" is song two on album two of Physical Graffiti.
The whole situation is just sad. Life is sad. That’s why we all should strive to be happy and we as fans should understand that they can’t work with Dennis anymore. I get it. I’m not taking sides. But I’m still hopeful that maybe a miracle will happen.
Have loved Led Zeppelin since their first album... still listen to them regularly today. Having said that, I want to add that my three favorite Newsmen are Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, and Walter Cronkite. Always love listening to Dan Rather.
72 now. Grew up on Led Zeppelin. Saw the at the Oakland collesium way back then. What a great time for us and music. Everything was so new. They blew everyone away with their music. And here we are still not just listening but talking about them. Never going to change. Greatness is just that way. The guy had a voice that had no equal.
I only got to see the movie in the theater as a 14 y.o. - The Song Remains The Same. What a blast we had in a movie theater. Can't imagine seeing them live in their prime. Wish I had a time machine !
