It’s one of those things like in a lot of stores now where if you have the membership/rewards program and use the coupons, you can get the proper price back in rewards points/credits to use on other supplies. Otherwise yeah you’re just getting gouged. Also a good thing to know if you don’t already, most big ticket items and medications in the pet stores are 25-50% lower at online retailers

horrible/zero customer service or customer support. the halo is for investors and not for customers. extreme marketing!!! halo dog collar is selling shit in a bag and hates dog owners. extremely disappointed.

We got it a few months ago and LOVE it! We live on a farm and take our dog to the lake and hunting often. I love that I can create different fences for different places. It has worked great so far!
Halo is a garbage company. The collar doesn't work, customer service is horrible, the app is trash, so is the website. Basically nothing works for $600 and you get to go through the super awesome mail return process.

You are a lifesaver!! I have been putting off the setup because we are in the country, 11 acres, several barns, weirdly shaped boundaries are needed. I am going to tackle this now. My Lola and I thank you.
I would love to do this - honestly it's a time issue. I think I would do better rewriting their instruction book LOL - but believe it or not a 3 minute video is a very long process (especially when it's not your wheel house - my day job is Art Teacher) maybe I'll make it a project for this spring. I like the idea.
@happycamper ... I found that trying to use the Halo Collar with beacons made things more complicated for me. Luckily, both of my dogs quickly grasped the concept of avoiding the areas with the beacon when I used the collar alone. When I reached out to the company for advice, they recommended moving on to the next steps without overthinking it, so that's what I did. Later on, I decided to give beacons a try, especially for my food-driven dog, Cosmo. He had a knack for getting into the garbage, even without a handle on the door! Surprisingly, he caught on to avoiding the beacon pretty fast. Then hilariously, we threw the beacon out by accident when we took the trash out... thankfully he got it and doesn't open the trash anymore.
I bought the Halo collar about a year ago, and although the accuracy hasn't been great it's worked well enough. One complaint is that if you don't have cell service, you can't give your dog a correction, and the app is super slow. So not very practical for adventures. But for containing my dog at home it's been ok. What really grinds my gears is that when I signed up the subscription plan was $4.99/month, and they've just doubled that price. This feels like a bait-and-switch to me, and a terrible way to treat customers. I wrote them about it, and they just told me how to cancel my subscription. So, I'm thinking of trying some other brand of dog collar just on principle. I don't want to support a business that treats its customers this way.
Back in my day, we used to have big, bulky 3D printers that would attempt to murder you! They were giant machines that you would have to throw against the wall if it didn't work. Kids these days, they have it easy...
I just bought one, and am trying to figure out what to do with all the doo-dads that came with it. Your video is helpful to a point, but I wish you'd started right out of the box, explaining where everything goes first, for those of us who have no aptitude for tech and find the instructions pretty useless.

I do not recommend Halo - they refused to credit a purchase I sent back unopened. I purchased two of these Collars and first tested it on my one dog it was so unreliable I decided to send the unopened one back.
Thanks for sharing. I’m looking into buying a 2 dog set from this brand. Given that you have experience with other e-collar brands it has helped me narrow down my search. 😊
I've sent emails and initiated chats with Bousnic customer service. They have not responded. Does anyone have a phone number for them? The first units failed after 2 years, so did the second ones after 1 year. They say they are a lifetime warranty product - but they just don't respond. Sent 4 emails so far and 3 chats throught their website - no response.
I was so grateful to see this video. As I get older, technology is something I just seem to stay away from more & more. But, I just adopted a dog that obviously hasn't had a lot of training, even the basics. As much as I adore this boy, I need to instill some manners in him. I bought the Bousnic & it just sat for days....waiting for me to tackle the tech. But your video helped me relax a bit. I pray I'm able to go forward without too many hiccups. But we'll see. Otherwise, I'll be searching RU-vid for more help. But your video really helped me. Thank you!
@@JSmith-nc6np Update: I did try as suggested using a dish of food that he loves. But again, it didn't seem to matter how far away from him the tone was. He still immediately sinks down, as if he's expecting to be hit, then stops eating & comes to my side. In my opinion, he then acts as if I've just broken his spirit. It's heartbreaking! What on earth could have happened to this poor baby!? I needed to train him recall though. When I first got him he seldom came when being called. I am disabled & we have a very big yard, about an acre & cannot always go after him. So instead of the e collar, I have been using clicker training with a high value treat. Now he's doing very well with the clicker, coming immediately when I call his name. But, I really wanted him to be trained to the e collar. So I thought I'd click, then press the tone at the same time (not easy btw..lol), then treat/praise him. I tried both, with a dish of food or just treats. But when he hears that tone, no matter how far away, he loses all excitement/happiness & any type of positive reaction. Like I said, it's like his spirit is broken. I may keep trying but we'll see. I feel horrible doing it when he's obviously been traumatized.
Thanks for your great reviews. I see that Halo has refurbished 2nd generation collars for ab $200 cheaper than 3rd gen. Fo you feel the 2nd gen is comparable to 3rd gen?

I bought lifetime kidslox licence. Now I don't use it because salfeld is better. Kidslox was too buggy and the notification on the child's phone was annoying.
So we recently purchased the Halo Collar for my dog who is a fence jumper. My dog (casper) seems to be overly cautious of the collar settings and he will not leave my back porch to do his business. It also seems to send feedback when he is in the house as well. Any suggestions?
The halo 3 has a USBC port with the magnetic charger be sure that’s working properly (the cord) then go from there I would reach out to support they are also very helpful.
