hey guys! sorry for so many of the audio issues. i know i didnt mention it but my computer bricked and im currently working on repairing it as well as working on personal schedule rearrangements. what you watch here was hastily recorded with my laptop that didnt have my sound setting imported and i didnt have time to make a script so i apologize for the detours in my train of thoughts. regardless of what i say or think i care more for what you have to say. do you agree with what i said or do you disagree? all opinions are welcomed and i strongly encourage anyone and everyone to feel free to leave a comment and to have a great day. currently no plans for another video as of yet, but maybe i can work something out somehow.
RT/AH were dying long before Ryan's scandal. Honestly I still think it's not entirely Ryan's fault, the girl lied and said she was of age, sure Ryan shouldn't have cheated on his wife but the power dynamic works both ways (from creator to fan and from fan to creator) and Ryan like any average person who probably didn't have the support from RT (who didn't seem to be knowledgeable about the impact of fandom) would have fallen victim to fans and the attention and fan literally throwing themselves at them. To my it started dying when Fiona joined, they were trying to expand and keep up with the 'latest thing' and fiona to me just wasn't funny, in fact she ruined pretty much every video she was in to the point I couldn't watch it and I loved AH. Ky and BK were okay but they weren't AH to me. I tried RvB zero or whatever it was but episode 1 was unbearable, no idea what happened to Gen:Lock, that started great. I still watch the old 7 Days playlists and GTA IV especially Cops and Crooks. Wokeness killed it. I remember watching their stream about the disabled employees and what it was like working for RT, I thought this is great as a disabled person I was really excited to watch it but it was crap, it was so political and opinions on RT not what it's like as a disabled person to work for RT - reasonable adjustments, accessibility, acceptance, etc. RT/AH was my escape from the world and especially politics and they ruined it. Go woke go broke. Also their "community" got really really toxic. I also completely forgot about Mika till you mentioned her. I liked Lindsay and Trevor, she was chaotic and his chair obsession in 7 Days was very amusing. Honestly the thing I love most about your video is that you're just giving your opinion and you accept that others have their own opinions and you respect that even if you don't agree with them, that's what the community lost, nobody is ever going to agree on everything, we're all individuals, why can't people just accept difference of opinions and continue enjoying a shared interest.
I believe ypu may be exactly right, the wokeness of RT and AH is what started their decline, diversity hires are fine but they had nothing in common with anyone in the company. They were not funny, they had no amusing banter, they couldn't hold onto conversations, and generally they were unlikable on camera. I know that sounds mean and all but it's the truth when you look purely at the numbers of likes, subscribers, and views. The whole woke agenda was the driving force to their destruction and the more they were told by the community to stop the more they leaned into it and refused to listen to their community. Also I started these thoughts and opinions videos after the whole Ryan incident because of how everyone reacted to it. On reddit, Twitter, and on RU-vid you were BANNED from mentioning his name, you couldn't even avoid using his name and say anything positive about him from the past. It was entirely "you hate Ryan and blindly agree with purely stance or you're out" which isn't fair to everyone who was affected by it. You can both acknowledge the bad thing he did AND reminisce about the past. It's not a one way street. Many of the reddit places even included rules saying you could in no way shape or form question the "victims" reasons for accepting his offers which means even if they were wrong they were to be believed 1000% no questions asked. Those is dangerous because as we saw with vic the original voice actor for qrow, the allegations were false and not a single one was true, so believing a victim 100% without any questions is a bad thing. You can believe them AND ask questions. That's how we get to the facts, and that's how we know who is innocent and guilty. My thoughts and opinions videos are for everyone to share their own thoughts freely without the worry of being reprimand for sharing it. Agree with me or disagree you have every right to share it and I want people to have a place they can do so freely. Hell maybe I missed some information and what they know could sway my own opinion on the subject, that's the beauty in being able to share opinions and share information. So thank you for sharing yours and understanding the intent behind these. I do believe you may have hit the nail on the head square on.
Roosterteeth's downfall was very simple. They relied on old business models that stood no chance in the current media space and they failed to recognize that. Asking people to leave RU-vid to go to a whole different site where they'll also have to pay for specific content was the absolute dumbest business decision ever made and The Watchers figured that out recently. Some people think that Ryan and Adam's controversies fueled their downfall and while i can say it didn't help, it surely wasn't really that impactful. 100% if AH still had the full cast of Gavin, Michael, Jack, Geoff, and Jeremy people would have stuck around, especially if ALL their content was on RU-vid Roosterteeth always had toxic workplace issues. The problem is their old business models made them generate little to no revenue and once it got to a point where people weren't getting paid what they should've been you no longer had a bunch of desperate artists and production staff excited to throw themselves at RT. Edit: also they kinda had to fire Joel. Joel was constantly pushing the most dumbest crap on social media like covid conspiracies. He LITERALLY right now is still posting on Twitter about stupid conspiracies and complaints. At that point he's just a liability and makes the company look bad, rightfully so.
i agree that wanting viewers to move to a completely different site in order to get the same content but now they have to pay for other privileges was a very idiotic and destructive business model. maybe that worked in the days before youtube but definitely not a good idea when they could have just had youtube memberships enabled and made revenue that way. and toxic is no understatement. there were rumors for years that RT didnt pay well if at all sometimes for the work done and that they were very verbally abusive to the staff that held things together. overall it was a janga tower with like 60% of the pieces missing and the collapse was going to happen one way or another. if anything i cant possibly have seen RT and AH for that matter making it another 4 years hell let alone 2 years had warner bros not pulled the plug. they were making no money, losing views quicker than they could gain new ones, and their site was failing and becoming a ghost town. overall RT just stopped putting in any effort and expected to make gold in return. correct me if im wrong but joel was fired only after he told jack and gavin on a podcast i believe that because they didnt believe in owning guns it was only a matter of time before a fan tried to break into their house and kill them, which was true because gavin DID have a mentally ill fan break into his house with the intent of killing him and meg because he was jealous that meg was with gavin and not him or something along those lines. either way joel was right (for once). i agree he was a liability, but when other members of the company are making political death threats like miles luna who said "i hope trump gets arrested and beaten to death while in jail, actually i hope he gets beaten to death on the streets" or when they were liking the kathy griffith photo of the severed trump head? does that not qualify as being a liability? to RT it was a view the company agreed with as a whole, but joel was not sharing their views and coincidently was the one they let go because of their social media posts and comments within the company which i do agree are a bit out there in terms of psycho. but i do also agree with you that ryan and adam might not have been the biggest impact, but i do believe that it was one of the final little pushes over the edge that just further sealed their fate. two beloved content creators gone within a week of each other and the company now on the backfoot fighting off lawsuits and allegations from every direction and a slew of new cases every other week making them have to now keep covering lawyer costs. though now this does beg the question. the ryan and jane doe lawsuit is still in process and RT is still involved and hasnt been let go from it, how will their closure affect the case?
Well it's been a while and I've been having time to reflect and I think there was more then just Ryan and Adam's scandals going on behind the scenes of RT.
agreed, its like what zacharyjackson1829 said, there were many more problems under the surface that led to the eventual downfall, these were culminating for years and years which is how we got to them being forced out of business but i do think that the adam and ryan scandals were what brought to light a bit more than what we knew, after the two scandals more and more allegations were coming out and the company had to go on the defensive for like a year straight as it "rebranded" to get itself away from al the drama. but the problem is that you can simply change a logo and expect everyone to forget about how much shit you pulled. the unexpected firing of like 15% of the entire staff WITHOUT prior notice being sent out, the many MANY talented artists and actors who didnt get paid regularly or at all for their work and faced verbal abuse from the management. overall the company was very toxic and a unstable place to call your work home. this closure was inevitable yes but had the company got its shit together sooner maybe they could have had another 10 or so years to run, but as is i couldnt possibly see them making it another 4 let alone 2 years with how things were. but yes you are right and so is zacharyjackson1829 when it comes to why they had to shutdown. to many issues to blame but there were definitely some big ones in there.
It was a blast! I have sometimes wondered what a fallout movie would look, sound, and feel like but now I know what it could be, and I am all for it. Absolutely stellar work from everyone involved, A+ all around. Thank you guys for such a wonderful experience.

I'm 60 now, sigh, lol. thanks so much for the umph on spreading it around, as i will.
