Can Jane Doe Sue Anyone? Thoughts & Opinions 

I haven't heard anything about the trial in quite some time. Haven't seen any mentions of it nor has anyone made a video detailing the case so it's possible they are in the process of negotiation which can take forever to do. I have a friend that was fighting for custody of his kids after a nasty divorce and before it went to an official judge for a ruling they had to go to court to iron out details which lasted over 5 years where they operated on a temp custody agreement. The only reason a judge finally took it was because he heard about all the false police reports she filed on him and decided they had far to much time to argue and made them settle it within a week. Granted this is a completely different event and is likely to have a different process, if it is representative of how the court process works its likely we won't hear anything for quite some time OR it will be settled out of court and not discussed.

@Nick Animefan agreed, it's heart breaking to see a company that I have loved and supported since I was just a teen fall down from grace as hard as they did. They sold out to people who didn't care about the quality of the content and only cared about the revenue and as a result, they fell victim to the go woke mentality. Hard to understand how they got the idea that alienating a huge portion of their fan base and even calling for some fans to verbally and physically assault those who don't agree with them, its just wild to me and hard to wrap my mind around. Regardless Ryan acted alone in this and I don't believe RT should be held liable for what he did. Had they known or been informed sooner they would have taken actions to prevent it and stopped him sooner. In this case the victims who kept quite are the ones in my mind that enabled him to do it and encouraged his behavior further.

@@moviemaker2011z yeah, but again we will have to see when the investigation is complete and all the evidence is complied. As for rt themselves, burnie just checked out and sold the company to full-screen. From there it's a crap show along with the recent Kaden situation.

@Nick Animefan yeah I saw the online discussions with kdin telling about her time there and the things they said and did to many of the other associates. It reminds me of a video I made 3 years ago explaining why I wouldn't want to be an achievement hunter and while I can't remember all the details I do remember saying that I feel as if the environment would be hostile especially considering my own personal political stance and that I just knew that if put into that environment I would be harassed and have shots taken at me with every single video and with every single day it getting worse which is why I wouldn't want to be in that environment. As much as I love making videos, and I love to try and entertain people I just know it would be a disaster and not a good fit for me. Now finding out 3 years later just how bad it really was does make me angry because it shows that people there took the idea of "expressing yourselves" to far. It's one thing to joke especially at an entertainment company but a lot of the things they are reported to have said are just obviously wrong and overstep all meanings of workplace harassment. And while many apologized for it I know it's only because they are sorry for being exposed and not because they care. I wanted to make a video on the kdin subject but pulled back because there really wasnt a lot of info relating to it at the time i saw it and it just doesn't seem like something to discuss now that it's blown over.

And to offer a more clear explanation of what RT is saying in their response. They are basically saying Jane doe has no Case because it's past the statute of limitations, though if it's not she still doesn't have a case because she took to long to file the claims of damages meaning they are calling her out saying "if you went through so much pain and trauma, why did it take so long to file this lawsuit?" Which I agree with them on it barring the exception of financial stability on her part. They are also saying that Ryan is at fault so he should have to pay for the damages and pay the majority of the bill should RT actually lose, and if they do lose the case they are invoking a code to limit how much they can be sued for and that if she settles with Ryan then that amount needs to be removed from how much they would owe if any. They again claim Ryan is at fault and that they contributed nothing to his actions and then go on to say that Jane Doe is making a claim against them with no evidence or at least she has failed to provide any sufficient amount of evidence to validate her lawsuit against them and that because of this her claims should be barred and if not they want to escalate to a trial by jury and will pay any applicable fees required. The last little bit is them just saying they hope Jane Doe doesn't take offense to them wanting to escalate the situation and that she will hurry up and get a lawyer so they can go to court. Here is the super quick break down: 1.1) Basically Rooster Teeth is saying they didn't do anything wrong. 2.1) RT is saying they can't be sued for this because it happened too long ago and the deadline for something to be done about it has passed. (Past the statute of limitations) 2.2) Even if the deadline didn't pass the fact that they waited so long to report it shows that they have no damages. 2.3) Again they're saying they didn't do anything, but if the courts do award damages here's the law that places the upper limit for how much they can sue for. 2.4) Given that multiple parties are involved, RT is saying that the other party (Ryan) is the one who's at fault. If the courts find both RT & Ryan to be at fault, the damages awarded get split up by the parties and each pays a portion. 2.5) Referring back to section 2.3 but saying they reach the upper limit and if they're only partially responsible then they only have to pay a portion of that limit. 2.6) Someone else is at fault. 2.7) RT is saying that their association Ryan was only a coincidence, they had no control over his actions, and he alone would be responsible for any damages. 2.8) They are saying the damages are Ryan's fault. 2.9) The plaintiff hasn't provided any substantial evidence RT is at fault. 3.1) RT wants a jury trial. Hopefully that all made sense.

@@moviemaker2011z Ryan should be sued BUT NOT Rooster Teeth, they didnt do anything to help Ryan with his supposed grooming or his behaviour and like Jack and Michael said in that one video, they had no idea they were sitting near a monster... if they knew, then things wouldve been nipped in the bud

@@CutterHistorical I agree, RT has stated quite clearly that there is a severe lack of evidence to incriminate them. And while I cannot exactly take jack or Michael at their words (remember they are paid, professional actors for a reason) I can find it easy to believe that none of them knew, maybe they has suspicions of him acting in bad faith to his wife but they never could have guessed this, they never could have seen this broadside coming for them. I think their tears were legitimate not because of the damages done to the community (look at their twitters they don't give a fuck about people in the community) I think they were crying because they thought they knew Ryan, they had been with him for 9 long ass years almost every day! On top of it they were losing kovic for his antics, 50+ associates had recently lost their jobs with literally no notice whatsoever and now they had their friend caught in a child sex scandal. What fucking more could life throw at them you know? So I agree with you my guy, RT did nothing wrong and in no way encouraged or tolerated such behavior especially when you consider who the big daddy boss' were at the time (Warner Brothers). I'm still skeptical that this is a legit lawsuit but as you have said and what we should always consider is that there is always a chance this is legit and that maybe it's just not going as smooth as they would hope.
