What's ironic is that the Duel on Peridea set is a playset for kids, and kids did not watch Ahsoka. Largest group of viewers by age were older Millennials (so about mid 30's to early 40's). Gen Z as a whole is not that big on Star Wars.... But the kicker is Gen Alpha. Gen Alpha does not care for Star Wars and they are the ones that are supposed to be playing with this. Star Wars is a dying franchise as, for the first time ever, the older generation won't bother introducing the franchise to kids because the franchise is totally cooked. I give it another 10 years or so before LEGO drops the license. I was at the last LEGO May the 4th event. Everyone was older than me. The youngest person I saw there was maybe SHYTIMEismyTIME. I saw plenty of older women salivating to get in the store. Pretty sad what Disney has done. LEGO has done a great job at pivoting their Star Wars line from sets focused on play to being more about display-only sets over the past few years (helmets, dioramas, midi-scale sets, giant UCS display sets). The fandom is getting old as fuck on average and they have the disposable income. Might as well cater to the old heads since then Gen Alphas rather buy Ninjago. EDIT: By the way, you will pay $70 pounds for that Skiff. Star Wars is a old-people franchise now. You got the money. That's half of why these Star Wars prices are so insane. LEGO does not price sets using a function that factors in "budget." The budget is set, then the design is achieved within budget, then LEGO prices the set as high as it can based on what LEGO thinks they can get for it. And Star Wars is mostly very late 20's and up. You will buy the skiff and you will also buy the remakes.
These are all pretty meh and I may skip. I will look at pics after they've been built and decide. The thing about the Dark Falcon for me is that I just purchased and built.the 75257 during a May sale. The Dark looks to be the exact same build, with the same gaps, just a recolor and new minifigure lineup and a price increase. So to me that's not worth purchasing anymore. Normally when they release a new Falcon, I expect the design to be improved overall, a cut and paste from the 75257 doesn't cut the mustard with these prices. Do better Lego.
Hi Jack, greta video and breakdown of these 2 sets. Yeah, this will not be a first day buy for me either. I do want to pick both up and I will, but like you...I will wait for a sale. Hopefully we will get a decent one. I will say tho, if they have a decent promo, or Rakuten has a decent % off, I will buy the Ahsoka Battle of Perida. $55.00 is pricey but if we get some kind of promo I will buy it. I do agree that definitely should have included Cpt. Enoch!!! Why they didn't idk! anywho.....that's my take, Have a great day :)
Rip to all the people who do not get day 1 discounts. Skiff is already down from 80 to 60 Euros in Germany. I doubt that the Battle of Peridia will go down in price much. Its all about the Minifigz.
Of course they will. Lego Star Wars is completely disconnected from its actual value or quality. Its a collectors item (Especially the minifigs) now for well-off middle class guys in their 30s to 60s and they have more than enough dispensable income.
I wonder if they will ever make a proper ROTJ Boba Fett. We keep getting the ESB version and I have always been more fond of his Episode 6 look. It’s a small nitpick but still something I am disappointed I haven’t seen yet.
Not for a long time unfortunately. This year and these sets would have been the best chance at getting him but Lego just does not give a flying fuck about it. They'd rather reuse the existing assets to cut costs. Not including the cape is the cherry on top for me.
The battle on peridea is essentially a battlepack with a bunch of really unnecessary extra pieces. I mean this is the same as the Obi wan vs Vader set, bunch of cool minifigs on a unnecessarily big base that noone actually gives a shoot about and is only there to "artificially" raise the price by 20 dollars.
What pisses me off most is that these sets are clearly aimed at adults and they still act as if they are for children. Just make these sets fucking dioramas and stop wasting budget with useless play functions that nobody cares about.
The list wasn’t new Minifigures released in 2024… it was just minifigs from sets that have been released In 2024. The ywing microfighter came out this year, hence he counts
Great list. Some awesome minifigs there. The Imperial Commandos are my personal favorite. I bought two packs, so I can make my four man fire team from the book. Vode An!
Hi Jack, great video! I like and agree with your ranking of each minifig. I just bought the Paz Visla and Moff Gideon Set. Cant wait to build it. Congratz to the winner!!!!
