idk I like bedrock personally. I've been playing since I was 11. I am 22 now and I started on xbox 360 edition. After i soon got a pc and started playing java, and I started java at 1.8.8. Bedrock just feels good to me, plus i know everyone hates the marketplace but i really dont. the ability to pay a small price to support the Minecraft community and get a decent piece of content that you can put on any world, then play with anyone from any device pretty much is darn cool. plus it runs so good.
I tried logging into my Minecraft account the other day after 10 years and I couldn’t log in. When I tried troubleshooting I found that I didn’t merge in time and lost my original account. Super sad. Now I have to buy it again to play it on my PC
It really wouldn't be that hard to make Bedrock and Java edition equal. Anything you can do in Java is doable (and probably even easier) in C++. The main issue afaik is that the American and Swedish branches of Mojang refuse to cooperate on a lot of things
How could other people say “bedrock is better, 4J Studios version sucks” like don’t forget who helped make Minecraft popular that got other spin off games. The game was so much fun when it was console edition but bedrock it’s still buggy and it lags too I wish that the old edition was still around instead of Bedrock edition honestly I wished Mojang and Minecraft was owned or at least with 4J Studios at least they knew how to make a game better than bedrock.
I still quite like bedrock because the bosses are harder completely cross platform and some exclusive features still make it a rather fun minecraft experience
When I was a kid, I didnt have java nor pe, and I only had the legacy console edition on my ps3. It was amazing to play it, but I always felt kinda left out because I couldnt download mods, maps, etc that I would usually see on yt. And i also couldn't play with friends. Still, it was amazing, and I remember all the gradual changes, and used to get happy for all of em. For example, when they finally added arrows sticking to ur characters body after getting shot, or the addition of the iron trapdoor.
Fun fact: The Legacy console edition was a head of its time. For example, the notch apple gave u fire resistance even back in the earlies versions of legacy console edition, but in java (and bedrock) the fire resistance effect got introduced only in 1.16. Also you could say they had their own kind of recipe book analog before it became a thing.
Me and my cousin have been playing the nintendo switch edition of legacy console lately, and I gotta say it's still great. Also it actually RUNS SMOOTHLY bedrock on the switch is TERRIBLE DO NOT BUY IT
Honestly in my personal opinion, Minecraft is Minecraft, I don’t judge people based on the versions they play as I myself play Bedrock, Java, and the legacy console editions. Along with having some hours in Minecraft dungeons and a bit in Minecraft story mode! I never had any time in Minecraft earth and haven’t gotten legends yet since I kinda want to wait for it to go on sale, I still don’t think there is any bad versions of Minecraft! At the end of the day you can do whatever you can dream of that’s what the game was designed to do! It’s supposed to be really fun and an experience for all! Do some versions have more bugs than others? Yes! Does that truly affect the gameplay and fun factor? No! Sure some bugs suck but all games have them, it’s learning to overcome them that makes you feel good, plus with things like mods and stuff you can create brand new experiences within a already great game! Minecraft is and forever will be my favorite video game of all time, doesn’t matter what version you play just have fun! And as one last side note yes I’m not excluding education edition either, that had some good concepts in it and some of the stuff still holds up to this day! Does Microsoft owning it now make differences? Yes but at the end of the day it’s always gonna be Minecraft, if you don’t like one version play another and you can always revisit older versions if you really want to! They each have their own unique style and concepts like bedrock having customizable skins and Java with mods! Just have fun, play Minecraft, and have a great day!!
But Bedrock edtition is not driven by Mojang. There is a different studio which develops it. And Mojang doesn't make decision related to Bedrock, such as marketplace, shitty account system and so on; it's Microsoft to blame. So why do you all blame for the mistakes they even haven't done?
The Nurm isn’t a villager theory is from a video clip on where the fight with the mini colossus’ are green screened, and when the green screen cut, the colossus’ and Nerm disappeared. So basically Nerm is “CGI” in the storymode universe. (It’s hard to explain so just search it up)
Minecraft bedrock feels so soulless. It really feels like the devs are only there to do the bare minimum for higher-ups at microsoft. About two years ago i was playing minecraft on switch for a couple week, and enjoying it. But there was a bug at the time that made the game slow and studder and frequently crash and a seperate one that caused visual errors that together just made the game unplayable. I haven't touched it much since and honestly dont plan to. Minrcraft console had bugs but game breaking bugs, but they were always patched within a week or two, not left in the game for months. Minecraft java still has some of that real care and love but it's become so corporate and even policitical sometimes in their messaging and that's just not what i want from my entertainment personally. It's sad but ive moved on from minecraft because microsoft and mojang are increasingly soulless.
In Minecraft story mode season 3 Jesse would have to go through trials where he would fight an anonymous like character that would try to trick jessy into things like having to use the command block on the ender dragon just like Soren or let his friend's die to secure an actually true legacy not knowing if his friends we're actually with him and at the end Jessy would see a Steve like figure in the backround that was probably character that put him through those trials.
i know Mojang doesn't listen because of their "we don't care of what the audience thinks" mentality, but this is my idea of adding the Red Dragon to Minecraft: it'd just be called the "DRAGON"; a *Boss mob* found in caves in the Overworld of specific biomes (i'll explain if asked), summonable by luring it with a Block of Gold. its physical description is as follows: basically the Ender Dragon, but red, and its wings are white with black membrane; and breathes fire. it drops Dragon Scales, Fire Sac, Wing Membrane, and Dragon Heart. the Dragon Scales (dropped by one other monster) are for crafting a new armour type - chestplate and helmet - called Scalemail; the Wing Membrane replace the Phantom Membrane, meaning it has the same functions as it (dropped another monster other than the Phantom); the Fire Sac and Dragon Heart are used for brewing a new potion: Breath Potion (Fire), which lets you breathe fire. there's an ice variant: white, and light grey wings with blue membrane. also found in caves, it shares 2 biomes with the normal variant, and it's found in caves of cold biomes. drops the same materials, save for the Ice Sac, for the Breath Potion (Ice). i know, i'm just giving the Ender Dragon a paint job, but see how i managed to create something new - and arguably good - just by taking what's already there and tweaking it? there's a lot of things i've come up with that use that method. the Fire and Ice mod did it? f@c# the mods! this is based on my philosophy, which is based on the question i asked myself: "how would Mojang do it?"
Now THIS is the Minecraft I grew up with. It was perfect. It had everything and more. Minecraft as it is today will always be inferior to it's predecessor created by 4J all those years ago. There will never be another version of Minecraft more perfect than 4J's, not Mojang's.
Played the ps4 edition of minecraft and it does have a vibe on its own, the best thing about it is how smooth it runs on the console. Now that it turns into bedrock it feels way too off, and sometimes there's a lag spike whenever you put down a block
Honestly personally for me, I'll always take Console Edition over Java Edition. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but Java doesn't feel the same as how I used to play Minecraft on the Console Edition. I'd remember always waking up and being able to just hop on with friends with little to no issue to play around and have fun. People can argue that Java can be modded and such with all their features, but it just wouldn't hit the same like Console would back then.
I remember I specifically would boot up my Wii U version of Minecraft for the battle minigames. It was cool to talk with people on a console and be able to split-screen the minigame with my brothers too
