Jade has lost its identity, none of that is jade, it is all (Gemmy) Jadeite from Burma and that is the only source Globally and is now closed for business, nope, Jade is the Spanish word for Nephrite and both refer to the kidney either for the shape of the rough stone, or for the healing of the kidney hocus pocus that is today called a Trillion dollar wellness industry. Jadeite should have never been classified as Jade, Now, as for Nephrite (Greek and named prior to the Spanish “piedra de la ijada” which means “stone of the colic” or “stone of the side”) before Burma was from numerous places in China, and after Burma Jadeite discovery, Nephrite came from Russia, Afghanistan, Peru, Guatemala, Nevada, California, BC, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China and my brand new find in Ontario, Canada from a metamorphic hydrothermal vent of granitic pegmatite through Limestone. It is all Green even though some looks black and also white inclusions but nothing big enough to carve, which when pure is transparent, as in perfectly clear and my purple is from manganese and is a wine color more than a lavender, it also has orange and yellow in small amounts on the surfaces. But none are so transparent and those light they use to see the green are useless on real jade. It also has chatoyancy as well as aventurescence. Because of the Jadeite fluke, expectations for Jade's transparency and Green glow have become too high, if I was buying Jade at a show. i would not be carrying a pinlight
The jar is real. One of my grampa who passed away help cure me with magic, he told me that if the water doesn’t drip then it is a good sign. I was too young to understand or ask while during the time but I wish he was still alive so I can learn it.
At 8:40... Guo Shanduo ..in translation says each player has 13 tiles ( x4 = 52) with 101 tiles as uncertainties. This does not add up to the 144 tiles used in the standard game, leaving 9 extra tiles. Probably a mistake in the translation.
I'm guessing that you are refering to Han people when you say Chinese. Ancient Wu/Yue people use Chinese charaters to write (on this sword as well) and probably speak their own variety of Chinese. By that time they are already heavily affected by Chinese culture (Zhou dynasty culture) and later they became a part of the people that you now call Han Chinese. I'm from the Wu-Yue area of China and I definately know that my ancesters only became Han Chinese after the Han dynasty cause before Han dynasty there were no such thing called Han people bruh.
@@hata_kana nope... Don't cherry pick . Ancient indigenous half naked, seafaring, filled with tattoo people from the south had a different culture and different alphabetical characters from the people of the north...... They only adopted Chinese characters after they were defeated or became vassals of the Hans....
Two-thirds of modern Chinese are Viets. Most so called Chinese cultures, tradition,... originated from Viets and others. For example, Han Chinese claim rice came from them. But original Han from northwest were nomadic, nomadic people do not grow rice.😅😂
I think some of the ugly portraits could be made by European artists who had travelled to China from Europe. For example, if you look at most of the 14th, 15th and early 16th century European portraits. The long narrow faces, large chins and jaws etc were frequently depicted in the portraits. So I think some European guy painted Zhu in a European way because they don’t know what real Chinese painting was like.
it is not Chinese civilization but Yue (Viet) civilization. Yue (Viet) groups make of up of many different Yue ethics but all got invaded and assimilated by Chinese Han except the last Yue was the last Vietnamese. Yue people were famous for early bronze casting.
They are Hmong people. Y'all Chinese people keep killing us and failing to Hanfiy us. Miao and Hmong are the same by genetics. You cannot say that Hmong isn't Miao and Miao isn't Hmong. That is highly FALSE! Also, Miao is a derogatory word given by the Han Chinese. It means, "You civilized barbarians!"
Around 2010 I saw a very informative multi-part CCTV documentary about the history of the Chinese community of Manadalay, Myanmar, who have worked and settled there over the past few centuries to take a leading part in the jade trade, but I cannot find this documentary on RU-vid, or elsewhere on the Internet. Is this documentary still available to watch anywhere online?
