Motorcycle instructor and owner of 1st Gear Motorcycle Training. I’ve written three books on motorcycles (available on Amazon). I love touring and track days. If it’s got two wheels I’m interested!
Watching this I change my mind of getting one because I am handicap so getting off and run to get out of the way I can’t do. I move slowly. Think I will go with a boat instead to keep other people safe and myself. Thank you.
Just went from a HD to a spyder RT Limited. Took one on a test ride and it was just like my Skidoo. I was hooked at that ride. Having a lot of fun riding again with very low stress about balance. Here’s a good one I found. If you want to avoid n obstacle on the road and it is too late to steer around it, aim for either foot and you should pass right over it.
Good overview but I didn't get the throttle comment. My tu250's wot is the same 1/4 turn as my other two bikes. For anyone wanting a similar bike with more power, the 650 Interceptor is considered a grown up tu..
this guy supposedly trains new riders but can not even operate a clutch properly? What a squid? just rode one of these bikes and didn't notice any difference between it and over a hundred of other bikes I have ridden. Clutch action is actually quite nice as it typical of KTMs
Lawerence I have 50 bikes and this one stalls the easiest. When training new riders having the bikes with the easiest clutches helps a lot. The KTM was fine for more experienced riders but harder for newer riders. I want to make the experience of learning to ride, the easiest it can be.
Just did the math on the mpg based on what you said (20 liters will give you about 200 kilometers) which translated means 5.28 gallons will give you 125 miles. If you are right about this then it actually sucks big time because you would be getting only about 23-24mpg. I get better gas mileage out of my VW CC R-line!!!
It is very slow to react. It’ll take a few minutes to change. That said if there is any UV reflected anywhere it’ll stay slightly dark and on cloudy rainy days it will go dark.
@@leeridefar Thanks for the quick reply! :) So I assume this might become somehow a downside as it can be a bit dangerous because you loose a lot of visibility? Do you know how it compares to others? Sorry, but I have only 2 months of driving experience, so everything is a quite new to me
All transition lenses of any kind take time to transition. The helmets with drop down shaded visors allow for instant up and down. That is great for tunnels.
I am also from Canada but in Ontario, this will most likely be my 1st bike to buy, I got my M2 last April 2023. Thanks for the review! Just 👍 and subbed too 🏍 😎
Dude. Saying Zed makes you sound foolish. They say Zed in Canada. In the USA, we just say Z. The fact you don't know that, you lose credibility. Plus, it just pisses us off. Smarten up okay. Or just move to Canada!
My transition motorcycle sunglasses also recommend to place in freezer for 2 hours and the to direct sunlight to bring back the transition intensity. 3 years later they still fully transition as new and still last for about a month before needing to be frozen again.
I'm sorry, but those wheels are just butt-ugly They look like oversized plastic lawnmower wheels. If they were on my Ryker, I'd immediately spray paint them anything but white.... I hadn't ridden anything for well over thirty years, before I bought my 2019 Ryker 600 last month. My "instruction class" was picking it up about an hour before dark on a chilly evening, and avoiding freeways by riding it almost a hundred miles on rural back roads, twisty mountain byways and city streets to get it home. Not the most fun way to learn, but I guarandamntee the lessons will stick with you....
The rims are not for everyone but it is an old school rally design. Training on three wheels is limited everywhere but thankfully they are relatively easy to learn. Especially with previous experience with anything that has a twist throttle
Appreciate the tips! I have a Spyder 2023 RT Limited but took my two day course on a Ryker. One thing I picked up from there that I ALWAYS do is down throttle. It has become muscle memory for me and prevents the scenario you demonstrated. I still need to practice backing into spots.
Brilliant video! You seem to be the only reviewer who is the same height as me. Great to hear that you have no issues on this bike as a taller dude. Just ordered my CB300R from my local dealership. Can’t wait to pick it up next week 😃
Ive never liked the gear indicator for new riders. It means more looking down at the dash. Looking down can too easily upset balance and lose focus on the road ahead.
Thanks for the great video! I learned a lot from this video, things that were not talked about in my 8 hour class. I will be a safer rider from watching your video.
Turn one is over 200km/h coming off a straight of 300km/h. Why would you think this track is ideal for baby 400 bikes? This is where World Time Attack is held so it is ideal for the fastest vehicles.
Compared to Philip Island this track is tight. I had one shot at this track and it would have been better on a smaller bike. If I had a chance to learn it more, big bike for sure.
@@leeridefarah i c. Cool. Next time u r here you should get on the roads around Sydney. Check out Macquarie Pass which featured on Donut Medias list of roads you must drive before you die and the Jamberoo Road down to the beach is also nice. I also recommend Sea Cliff Bridge to Royal National Park which has stunning views. And Old Pacific Highway which takes you towards great beaches on the Central Coast. Theyre quite good conditioned roads that are really twisty and Old Pac has a lot of double apex turns which prepare you for turn 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park. And the last section of Putty Road near Newcastle is said to be the best for motorcycle practice but theres no iconic landmarks to see there and it is far so I havent been there.
My tips for anyone thinking on getting a Van Van: This is not a fast motorcycle, this is a motorcycle to go slow and enjoy the view. It can totally handle rocks and off-road, mud, sand... It would surprise you. But dont over inflate the tyres! Talking about tyres, swap them for the Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross Scrambler AX41S. They're so much nicer on the road and off-road than the Dunlops. It doesn't have ABS and the rear uses a drum brake, so go to a parking lot and practice some emergency braking with each brake and both to get used to it. Really, do practice emergency braking. And finally... Have fun 😊
Have owned the 900. It's a fun ride, but does not get great gas mileage . Am now at 84 yrs old and find the Yamaha xmax 300 fulfills all my needs with plenty of power for touring and great milage. Will be headedfor LA soon from my home in Paris. Arkansas.
I barely using my breaks on my can am spyder f3ss from 2021. I just noticed today that I mostly engien breaking. From high speed to almost stop. The last bit the real breaks must be used.
@@leeridefar do you think its the sun or time that wears it out? you said 4 seasons but I'm in a state where I ride everyday year round. it would really suck if it stopped working in half the time for me
My view would be its 300 cc each , and i know bikes with two wheels go well with 300 cc , i cant imagine it would slow to much , and i feel for safe riding you wont want your passenger put at risk..
Do you have a link for the crash bars? I got a vanvan myself and wouldn’t mind putting some on. I also have a rack in the back and wondering about good ideas for hard case or so
@@leeridefar thanks. Not planning on dropping it, but better safe than sorry. My vanvan came with a rack. Any suggestions for a hard case I can put on?
