We caught a fish on just about every cast haha! Climbing back up the mountain after running 35 miles the day before was a real challenge though. Worth it!
Beautiful, but i hear you need to carry guns to protect yourself from bear attacks, the only things we Aussies need to worry about are the killer Koalas.
Yes bears are a real thing. Bear spray is usually enough. Koalas are surely the least of the worries in Australia with the snakes, crocs, and giant spiders though haha.
Nice fishing spot but what is actually are you fishing for? There’s no structure there if your fishing for bass. Also i recommend that you learn how to use an open face fishing rod. No hate tho
No bass in those alpine lakes, just trout. And yes, open face is better but I like to keep it old school especially when fishing with the kids. Thanks for watching, I have several mountain fishing videos coming very soon.
Hello, this is in the Cloud Peak Wilderness area of the Bighorn National Forest. You enter the mountains from the town of Sheridan. There are 2 reservoirs in that area and those are the lakes in the video. It’s stunningly beautiful up there.

Focus on hill training and leg strength. The mud is basically there the whole time so prepare mentally for that. Save your trekking poles for the wall at mile 18. Having poles with fresh arms can be a huge difference maker and I would have made the cut off if I had done that this year instead of using the poles from the beginning.Get to the mountains to acclimate to the elevation as soon you can.
Thank you for sharing this amazing video...i lost that battle with the mud in the 52 mile back in 2017 AND 2019...ran the 50K this year and finally crossed that finish line! You'll be back I'm sure. Congrats on getting to Dry Fork!
