in the huey u arm the minigun to fire by accessing the co-pilot controls (or you tell your pilot or copilot) but the controls are at the center console, look towards the back. make sure switch is set armed
@@Uploadvideoschannel Thank you, I thought the door gunner had their own arm switch on the mini gun.... Incidentally, I've just been farting about with it, and it seems that the door guns can be fired whether they're armed or not!
some videos out there should have more multi view.. especially when showing viewers how things are done in control setups! i watch alot of tutorials and show the show controls indicator is helpful!
recoil is descent but not impressive. i havent found a good simshaker sound sample that would knock my socks off. but the shake it provides still better than nothing
@@khaledassaf6356 from what i read, DCS gives force feedback telemetry to elevator and alieron surfaces only... i see ppl in the moza discord asking where the forcefeed back pedals..and that was mentioned, stick only... someone has to make proof of concept when it comes to FFB and guns. you dont want the motor to shake for everything.. only firing doorgun!
@@Uploadvideoschannel Hence why I mentioned Rhino specifically, as TelemFFB does allow you to just have feedback from guns only. Granted, though, it's from all guns on the plane now that I think about it. Regardless, though, I'd say ignore Moza for now if you're looking for FFB, as their solution seems to be half cooked. Solid base, but the software is meh.
@@khaledassaf6356 my relay box for the doorgun controller prevents it from shaking all the time. i already preorder moza. rhino is too big for my setup and i dont want to wait and still have to build. i only hope that moza software will mature in time
@DaShaneo I use simshaker with custom sound files. I also run a box that has a relay box that connects audio to the transduce when i press the triggers otherwise the diy doorgun joystick will shake if any guns are fired on the aircraft...
na, i dont want to mass produce these, nor deal with shipping customer service.. that more work than what i want to deal with.. but i suggest building this most simple www.thingiverse.com/thing:6243235
@@Uploadvideoschannel I understand that, I'll have to show this to a friend who's much smarter than me. I'd love to have this setup to my second computer and have friends door gun in vr with me as I fly. So cool.
It is really damn cool.. I'm surprised it's not more available. I only wish for more games...so far 4 helicopters dcs world allow this.. I dream for a bomber with turrets. To bad the control mappings on il2 are limited..they have bombers but controls can not work for my joystick, on any joystick.
@@Uploadvideoschannel I'd imagine its not popular with game mechanics because it's not straight forward as a controller or readily available. If I can figure how to print and set this up I will send you the video and credit.
This is some crazy simulation setup you got there. I'm surprised you only have 150 views for this video. A lot more people need to be aware of what you are doing
im grateful that i can even have such an experience. it is a crazy setup. im now just waiting for a force feedback joystick, and that will be pretty much all i need
That would be awesome, so you can feel the vibrations of the helicopter in everything at that point. Good job on the gatling gun videos too! Whenever i can ill share your videos 👍@Uploadvideoschannel
unfortunately no stl files. alot of this was wood and poly panels. however i designed a version 2 that is mostly 3d print. www.thingiverse.com/thing:5863116
Hey, I just took the Kiowa for a flight in VR and that thing is a blast! I heard the Gazelle flight model has improved, but I haven't flown it in years. I'm fairly new to FlyPt. Would you mind sharing the profile you're using. Perhaps I can make some changes to adapt it to my PT-Actuator 6DOF rig. Thanks. Nice flight BTW. You've motivated me to revisit this map that I barely touch, lol
Mover uses suspension compression to detect ground. So on ground we might not have compression for the UH1H (no wheels). I will test and look for another solution in the future.
Unbelievable gear the gun looks like it is mounted to high for the user. The in game door gunner has it lower to his body your friend has it over his head. For your friend this has to be a hell of a ride. Was this his first time in VR on a motion rig? Hands down without a doubt you got a big brain to build this. From the floor to the seat how tall is it? Can't get a feel for the height of the 6DoF rig.
This motion platform is not a dedicated setup only for door gunners. I also use it for flying jets so I have to swap hardware. My platform is a typical 6dof setup. Just Google 6dof motion platforms and u will see various setups that are similar.
it was reported that it is a DCS issue external sounds dont match the gunner position sound. the sound is correct in gunner position, but sounds like normal machine gun from pilot position and from external view. i hope they fix it in next patch. its also listed in the last patch notes for gazelle
ok good to know! will keep that in mind for next time, the alarm was driving us crazy, and i wasnt able to cutout switch, i believe controller mapping kept the alarm switch in the on state, even though i was clicking to turn off
I've played video games since Atari 2600: it's been great fun. How much money could you possibly have just laying around to put into hydraulic simulation gear to just plop down in a room for the occasional gaming session?
he positioned where it was comfortable for him. personally, i try to position for where the pintle swivels. other times ill position above the minigun so the minigun is not blocking view. basically u align where ever you want!
check out my other videos. in order for my doorgun joystick to work, a standard joystick must work. in this case, the range of motion is limited for a joystick, but working perfect with a mouse.
i get that you can i just don't get why you would want to mouse is easier to aim an far more accurate an the quick transition from pilot seat to gun is a mute point as ai takes over the flying @@Uploadvideoschannel
Pretty slick, looks like it could be simplified. Would love to see a small desk mount build. But also -- "ITS A MACHINE GUN" lol damn single firing c'mon now. MAKE IT RAIN.
@@Uploadvideoschannel Just downloaded it, gotta fire up my printer. Going to see if it'll fit in my Elegoo MARS, I prefer Resin over the squirty mc squirt of my Ender 3. lol
yes, works great for huey minigun and mi24p/mi8 kord. doesnt have a whole lot of kick, but still any feedback is good none the less!!! i still have to see if feedback works on gazelle minigun, i didnt plug the audio amp during this test
at the end of the day, there has to be software to support it. aint no sense for manufacturer to make something and there is not much games to support it.. i only wish it will be a thing in the future. iL2 didnt care for it.. i only grateful that my builds work with DCS WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Uploadvideoschannel Yea the only thing I'd use it for would be DCS. oh the glory of being a Mi-24 or Mi-8 gunner and just dumping. Even better if we could get that one video with the recoiling strut, all integrated into one basic controller.
@@Munky332 i designed a super easy 3d print design for a doorgun if u feel bold to build. its nothing fancy, but it gets the job done for someone who cant build anything involved. www.thingiverse.com/thing:6243235
@@Uploadvideoschannel There's a video floating around on FB/TikTok/Instagram (probably reddit too) Guy has 1 or 2 pneumatic/hydraulic kicker struts mounted on a piece of plywood on a similar controller, looks a bit more ghetto. IIRC he was playing war thunder or some other ww2 game with something like a bofors and its just shaking it all over the place lol. Pretty sure it requires an air compressor or some other air source though, you'd have to pipe in air from a garage or something, otherwise have a loud ass compressor if you wanna have the full KICK experience for those long bursts.
I think the gap to real, althought big, is becoming smaller but for me the most important in this is: FUN Hope I can get rotor rpm for the vibrations instead of using a scaller on the engine rpm... let's see.
