Thank for getting to the point. Doing this for a friend and best video I've seen. It's not a big job but 100% i appreciate getting the jist of this. Some cars have extra surprises. But this one is straight forward. 👌🫡
Did your shifting improve after this fix? Regardless, thank you so much for making such an easy-to-follow video that should be a template for all other RU-vidrs to follow. Wish more were like yours.
I don't know what coolant the previous owner used in my car. I want to top off coolant because it looks a little low. Can I use any coolant to top it off or do I have to fully change it?
I have the same year only my speed meter not working I change the speed sensor and the cluster but when you hook it up to a code reader it shows its working ??
Hello friend, I want to thank you. I had a problem with my Prius and I changed many parts trying to solve the problem. In the end, I replaced that sensor and the problem was solved.
Did this help the shifting troubles? I recently purchased my mother and 08 Fit (great car) just the shifting when accelerating is hard! I want smooth the shifting out.. The car has over 200k miles! Should I drain and fill the tranny?
My prefered shop has top tier diagnostic skills, but they dont like to repair engines or transmissions and always try to push for full replacement. They want to replace the trans because of my rough 1-2 shift (it was in for unrelated engine issues) but this may just solve that! Thank you!
Change the CVT fluid too. Its a myth that ATF/CVT fluid is a lifetime fluid. Every fluid in your car has chemical properties that break down over time and you should change them ALL regularly. If you have old ATF, your transmission might "slip" (like mine is rn) bc the fluid doesnt have the correct viscosity to shift properly: the fluid breaks down over time and becomes less viscous. The myth came from dealers and older cars that say the dirty oil provides more friction and if you change it, your transmission may start slipping. That is not entirely true. Fluid is the life blood of the car, if you had dirty blood you would get sick and die earlier. Just the same, your engine components will last longer is you maintain the fluids.
Oh, definitely. no fluid lasts 200000 miles. I literally just replaced my ATF on my 2011. Honda Fit at 110000 miles. The ATF was black even after 4 drain and fills. Now that it's replaced, I actually gained fuel economy as the transmission is no longer sluggish ( About 2 to 5 mpg depending on speed). This also fixed the issue my transmission was having; the gears were slipping. ATF only lasts 50000 to 75000 miles depending on the brand.
I just followed this tutorial, but put in new solenoid. Now won't shift into second gear. I cleaned the portion on my transmission mopping up the fluid. Do I need to prime it to make it work? Or do I habe a bad part?
