It's functional, and looks good. You didn't get the results that you wanted in the slow cruise, but I still call it a win. And opened my eyes to the gap between the front clip and rad. support on my '57 D100. That hoods almost a foot tall, so a lot of misdirected air.
I think I like it. The more I look at it and visualize it, it makes a lot of sense. I have a 68 so I'm going to stare at the space and think about it more. Very good idea and great video.
Kevin - Great video! As I have mentioned before, our Chargers are dressed out VERY similar (512 cubes, Indy Max Wedge Heads, solid roller, EFI, TKX etc.) and my car cools almost identically to yours. At idle mine goes up to about 192-194 then the dual electric fans kick in and it goes back down to 186-187. At highway speed I am down to 182 + or - a degree or two depending on the season. In the Fall or Spring weather it actually goes down almost too much as I probably need to switch from a 160 to a 180 thermostat. However I am VERY interested in this part/shroud as I want to install A/C which will obviously affect my cooling at idle once I install a condenser in front of the radiator. Are these shrouds going to be offered for purchase from WAF Racing? And do you think it would help at idle, or low speeds in 100 degree weather with a condenser and the A/C running?
Marsha is awesome. I love her. From Sydney, Down Under!! Got a Fury hardtop with the 400 ci and original 2 bbl that needs a rebuild too to pep her up. I have Mikes carby kit and am ready to go.
Hazzard County being in the house is very cool! 👍🏽👍🏽 Move Over People Are Racing That's nice of the Chinese that now owns those companies to donate some stuff. Specially seeing that they've managed to run them all way downhill since they acquired them.
Edelbrock is not Chinese-owned in any way, shape or form. Rather, it's owned by Industrial Opportunity Partners (IOP) out of Illinois. It's pretty easy to look up. Unfortunately, due to EPA standards and globalist negotiating away America's industrial independence, we don't hardly produce any raw steel domestically, requiring companies to purchase raw materials for US-made manufacturing. Thankfully, all Edelbrock/Comp's aluminum is still cast in the US.
@@moparconnection LoL OK Guess the conglomerate group has moved it's base on paper. It's not a secret in the scene. Comp sold out year's ago to the same group. Have multiple personal friend's that lost their jobs here in Michigan. What's the warehouse manager a young Asian female now? She was breed in IL. They own almost every major company now. And Edelbrock went to garbage after the buyout as well. And they also got rid of all high payed employees. Carbs are cast in Mexico now. Heads are garbage too. And we won't even get into the nightmare MSD has become since they sold out. Owned by the same group... Why's Comp sell China lifters now? I'll wait
When I worked in a GM dealership back in the late 70's the mechanics always folded over one cotter pin tab and cut the other off also, like the factory
This video gives me some ideas how to fix my low heat problem on my ‘12 Chrysler 200 Touring convertible. Those model years 2011-2014 have the problem of no heat on the passenger side of the interior. I recently did a tune up on my Pentastar engine and was able to identify my heater hoses and was able to tell normal direction of engine coolant flow. I’m going to try the vinegar idea with a couple of buckets and a circulating pump with lower pressure and reverse flowing through the core to see if that is the fix for my car.
It's was awesome til I seen the core shift in the water jacket driver side rear gonna have issues when sonic testing the drivers rear bank I hate being a foundrymem
Need that 73CHARGER rear bumper and trunk lid plus a floor shifter and console, some bucket seats and a steering column that is for a floor shifter model
The way all the aluminum around the sleeves has been opened has left it considerably less rigid than the bores being connected, some things have to be negotiated, is having a larger piston size worth the reduction in rigidity I am not sure but would opt for rigid foundations..
I have a 68 Coronet with a 383 Big Block and 727 Torqueflight 3 spd automatic. It's around 450 hp. I'd like to keep the automatic but add overdrive. What do you suggest? Thanks. Great video!
SST offers a 4L60E option called an A41 Overdrive. It works great for applications making less than 600HP. A Gear Vendor is rock solid, but you might find it a bit overkill.
These guys need a clean up crew it doesn't make the cranks any better but sure makes it nicer for the operator some of those rags been there since they first opened..
Always loved these old engines. I will say this, though: "From the factory", it wouldn't make this same power level. You have the additional bore, of course which couldn't be helped....but it does add power. 8-10hp, easily. In the big picture, that isn't a lot but in this case when we're talking "what did it do off the showroom floor?", it matters. Then the heads...no way they don't have a better valve job, since they were on a drag motor, right? That helps. And I'm sure it's balanced. So while it's about as close are you're going to get these days, I'd say an actual "out of the box" Hemi would be down a bit from where this one is. Still gets us in the ballpark, though.
Thank you so much for the video. I may need it. Im hoping to avoid a rebuild if i can but first i need to diagnose this new sound. Its whirring/whining that sounds identical to bad torque converter bearings accept it is loudest in neutral and deceleration in gear. Even noticeable in park but not as loud. And a noticeable clunk when shifting from neutral to reverse or drive. Transmission seems to work great though. Please tell me you have an idea what that is?
I wish I had found you before hand but! I went with Silver State myself! Went from a 3 speed automatic with a 4,000 stall B&M to the Tremec Magnum 6 speed 😁 they were simply amazing they put the entire kit together for my car, and again perfect fit, I’m having it installed at Car Effex in New Jersey (I no longer have a shop to work on it myself) and they got the transmission shipped faster than I thought possible! Came with everything that was needed to install and Car Effex charged me less than $3k to install it. Totally worth it $8,437.56 to save on fuel and actually have something that won’t bounce off the rev limiter in 3rd gear at anything close to half throttle! They are sending pictures of the build but I will be doing a video or two once I pick it up with the upgrades! Next is a full suspension upgrade to actually make sure I survive 750 WHP in a car that is the same age as I am 😅
@@moparconnectionThank you so much! Yeah I am happier than a clam right now! I can’t wait for that first drive because the car is so powerful, but 3 seconds after I put my foot down the fun is over! 😂😂😂 it’s like brake, gas go! Boom firstsecondthirdholyhell😮😮😮gameover🥲 It’s a new motor build and I don’t want to blow the engine because I’m over rev’ing. I literally cannot mat the pedal without it bouncing off the limiter 1/2 second after hitting it. But I think the worst is being on the expressway and being close to redline in 3rd gear and a KIA Sorento thinks they are doing something because they walked away at 117 MPH 🥺it’s like NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I AM GEAR LIMITED YOU FOOLS!!!! But no more 😈 the Devil shall eat now Drag strips, auto cross, stop light 🚦 beware! The King has returned!
I was surprised to see the wipers working,I remember in the late 70’s when the rainy season started the chyrsler products would pull into the shop with the plastic bushings crumbled.great video, thanks
