This kind of thing is why I've no interest in wearing a Rolex. So many fakes. So many people who don't know anything about watches, but want to wear a Rolex because of the brand name. That being said, I do definitely recognize the engineering excellence of Rolex's movements. I'd love to have a Rolex movement in a non-Rolex branded watch.
The best bracelet and clasp on any omega I’ve had is on the ultra deep. The white gold indices and hands on the ultra deep reflect in a different but much better way than the rhodium plated ones on their other watches. The metal on the ultra deep is spectacular compared to their other 316 steel models. The ultra deeps metal on its brushed surfaces has a white gold appearance and reflects a unique look and hides scratches very well and the polished surface areas are done superbly. The other omega watches, including the Aqua Terra lack in their clasps and surface mix of polishing and brushing. Omega needs to use their new metal and taper their bracelets and use the new claps found on the ultra deep.
I would honestly take even a 2mm adjustment any day over no microadjustment at all. I think there is a lot of utility to it, as it is perfect for my wrist (I have a 16cm wrist). I do think it was clearly an afterthought for this bracelet and it looks weird when used. It's unfortunate that these larger brands still don't have good microadjustment systems, especially when compared to many microbrands that have executed it wonderfully at a fraction of the cost. Having said that all, beautiful lacquer dial and I would seriously consider getting one of these. Ty for the thorough review! Love your humble approach to watches, and I have subscribed!!
The AT is a beautiful watch with a reliable, quality movement. However the best thing is that a person can actually buy the thing rather than grovel to an AD to be added to a "list" to be considered for a purchase...
Very good balanced review. I can’t decide - the reason being that to me, they’re both different but fabulous watches. I already have an Omega PO however, I’d love to own both these icons also.
Funnily enough, MaMaCoo 's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. You have a yacht and a beach house in Tuscany, of course that replica is real. There isn't a millionaire out there going around with a jeweller's loupe to scrutinize their acquaintance's watch. They'll just go "Oh is that a Patek? Nice, I should really get my hands on one of those, they look great."
I don't know...why doesn't Omega make it thinner like Rolex?? Even non-chrono ones have a normal thickness. I wonder if they made it that way on purpose or if they lack technical skills. In particular, I think the Aqua Terra model could be made a little thinner.
Sold all my Rolex watches and went for Tudor. I never went back. Bought this one as well and loving it every day! I don't want to be seen with Rolex anymore, too obvious. Tudor has much more understated style..
At the end of the day it’s a beautifully designed, well built watch that has been copied by many because it’s a beautiful well built watch and many people like beautiful things so many people desire it and the price is a reflection of the demand.
The polishing and case finishing on this watch is incredible, but it's almost too excessive. The watch is quite 'blingy', for lack of a better word. That's why it isn't really a one-and-done watch, at least not for me anyway, especially at that price. Definitely needed more brushing.
You’re very honest not just pretending can have everything. Thats why I subcribed your channel. We need watches channel that can review not just showing new watch everytime.
Good video! I am new at all of this, and have been looking at CLEAN superclone Batman watches online. One trusted dealer has the "best edition" available for $600 and another has the "best edition" listed at $1000. Does anyone know if this is the same watch just being offered at different price points, or are there actually sub-levels of superclones? Any advice or info appreciated.
i just seen your video. i got mine yesterday from Beaverbrooks. its a blue dial. plan to replace the strap with nato strap. i find the original strap stiff. wearing it today for break in period. love it already. i have avenger gmt and certina gmt. this one is light weight. i could not afford rolex gmt, so i will stick to this.
Great review. I myself only new to Tudor am now on my second order within their brand. Love my BB58 and now going Pel. Love their watches and great services from the Ad i use. I would recommend to anyone a Tudor.
The Pelagos 39 is the only watch that I didn’t have to think long before buying it. I went to the AD, put it on my wrist … game over. Simply stunning, impossibly legible dial, incredibly light and wearable. It’s a master stroke. Just the week before I had tried on all variations of the BB58 (including the 925) but none of them convinced me. The moment I put on the P39 I liked it right away.
I am a huge Rolex lover and my last and only new purchase was in 2010 and that was the last of the new stock of 16610's. Had to travel almost 200 miles as they were the only one left in Illinois that had one new. Paid $6k out the door so they gave me a Illinois tax discount plus through in a addional link. I thought $6K was overpriced so you'll never find me paying $10k for a new Rolex. In looking at today's used prices I am glad I built my 1970's - 1990's collection when they were still somewhat relatively affordable used. Don't thing we'ss see a 16700 pepsi for $4k any time soon.
Why are you mixing up/confusing "water resistance" claims with "waterproof" claims? Apparently people seem to mix up these completely different terms. Even big watch corporations/brands make this mistake..Water resistance means "humidity protected" for a limited time... So imo a pretty pointless test/clip.
the AquaTerra is more comparable with the DateJust. I it a few years ago from an AD and have enjoyed it immensely. However, I'm now considering selling it, hoping to make a good profit from it. Forget the grey market hype, I'm focusing on the value this investment can bring.
Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $22million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.
How did you grow your portfolio to $22m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?
I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs like VOO and SCHD. I have also started acquiring some tech ETFs, including IITU and IUCM.
Thanks for doing a video on this. Is it that impossible to source a new OEM sapphire caseback to put on the hessalite speedy? Is a third party caseback the only option!
