Although I prefer the lyrics from the Bible, without the Rastafarian substitutions, I like this more than the Boney M version. It's wonderful to see and hear them singing it live.
AND IT IS TRUE THAT CAPTIVITY ECISTED THETE, THAT US SLAVERY, FOR SOME PEOPLE AND TOUGHER FOR THIS PEOPLE THAN IN EIGHTEENTH CENTURY AMERICA. JUST IN CASE. SO SARGON, THE KING OF ONE OF THE MESOPOTAMIAN LINGDOMS OR EMPIRES, WOULD HAVE JUST BEEN MOTE TRUE.
RATHER THAN ZION IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER TO REPLACE IT BY SARGON. A BIT MORE ARCHAEOLOGICAL. SECONDLY ZION IS NOT EXACTLY WHERE BABYLON WAS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS CONCEPT OF ZION IS MORE RELATED TO SUB SAHARIAN AFRICA, TO WHICH BABYLON DIES NOT BELONG. TO REMEMBER SARGON. BETTER. JUST A SMALK EDIT.
I was listening to the clash today and it barely dawned on me that M.I.A. sampled their song and I immediately needed to hear a Mashup. Thank you for you contribution to art, kind human.
This mashup is honestly the most repulsive piece of trash I have ever heard. The fact that people even still like it makes me think how stupid the fan base of clash was
This song makes me cry. Every time I hear it I remember the Ancient Israelites. Due to sin they were ripped from Jerusalem many died by the sword, many were forced to live in a foreign land. Some never returned. The lesson to be learned is when humans sin, the spirit of the Lord withdraws and humans left to fend for themselves.
