Ok I was just in the situation so I want to share how I got it out. First, yes, I relaxed and focused on deep breathing. Next, I got in the shower and squatted then going in with my nail facing up (toward the ceiling vs hooking) I dug in deep and hooked my finger inside of the cup and pulled it out. While in there, I imagined being able to pull it out and mentally said affirmations. If you’re going through this, don’t freak out because you can always go to the doctor to get it removed. It also probably means that you have a high cervix and should try something like the lummie disc or hello disc with strings to pull it out
I may never use this cup again. These instructions and the length of the stem are not disabled person friendly. I can’t squat and I apparently have a long vaginal canal. That was traumatic.
I think mine could be too large and unable to fully expand. It always leaks when I bend, cough, or make any effort and sometimes gets released from the bone. It never fills more than 1 or 2 ml
Y'all really need to make an applicator for this. I just had a meltdown trying to get this damn thing in for 30 minutes to the point of tears out of frustrarion. I gave up. Booooooo to the disc I wanted it to work so bad. I'm not sitting their digging in my kitty like this every damn time. 😭
Hi there, good question! Your Saalt Cup can be worn for up to 12 hours before emptying. On your heaviest flow day(s) you may need to empty more frequently. Since your cup holds as much as 3-4 tampons worth of flow you should be able to go longer between changes than you would with a tampon, even if you can't go the full 12 hours on heavier days. 😊
I love this ❤ also can you wear a normal pair at night or do you have specific overnight pairs? I have one pair from a different brand and idk how this happened because there’s no blood on the underwear but I wore an overnight pad with period underwear and somehow leaked like bro.
This has been such a game changer for me. I have been trying to plan a trip backpacking, but it is such a headache trying to keep track of my monthly friend. Saalt has made me feel more confident and less worried about getting my period while away from home.
Thank you for the video just starting out trying menstrual cups , since the study came out that lead and arsenic with a few other chemicals are in tampons. This video was extremely helpful.
Hi Charline, we’re thrilled to hear that the video was helpful for you! If you have any questions or concerns as you get started, please don’t hesitate to reach out. 😊
I get this huge pain that feels like someone is punching me in the cervix about 10 minutes after I put the cup in. I think it is when the cup actually pops open. How do I avoid this?! I love the cup but this hurts badly!!!
What worked for me was sitting down on the toilet with my back pushed backwards and pelvis forwards, I rolled toilet paper around my index finger because I have nails and couldn’t get a grip(used index/thumb)I pushed as well to help it come out, once I did that it started to slowly come closer and closer to the edge until it fully came out. I used model 2 which I didn’t know was the biggest one when I bought it but now I’m kinda glad I got that one cuz everyone said it’s easier to remove. Definitely excited for my new journey of cups! It was actually pretty comfortable. I did notice a little leakage but maybe I’ll get better with time I just used a panty liner to help with that. Good luck everyone 🫶
I couldn't insert mine for the life of me... it kept losing its shape and "squishing" which makes it very hard to insert. Ive used them before when trying ro conceive, and they were fine. Not sure what Im doing wrong, I gave up and ended up using a tampon 😤
I tried menstrual cup today, damn! Inserting it was smooth and sweet but removing it was real war. I freaked out 😂😂. But then it’s really worth it. I love ittt. Better than tampons and pads 💯
Not me in the shower yelling "GET IN THERE ALREADY!" because my vagina and my little cup are well acquainted by now...and nothing else works! Side note, yelling clenches your muscles...so no, it doesn't work, ugh. Anyone needing help, use coconut oil, it helps and is totally natural and fine to use!
I have been trying a cup for the last three months , but it's not open inside. I have very heavy blooding. So I thought my life would change. But in my third month now I have been trying for the last three days . Today also 8-9 time but no results. The cup is folded as I insert it . I am very worried. Also I have been tired of different types of company cup. Now using the Sirona cup. What should I do to open the cup😢😢. I really want to use It . Even when I tried so many times it was leaking. Medium size full in 2 hours and leaks 2-3 times in a day. Please help me
Tampons have recently been found to contain lead and arsenic which are both extremely toxic. they can cause infertility and lots of other negative effects on your health, it’s especially bad because your vaginas skin is very absorbent. it’s unfortunate. i feel like a menstrual cup is the best option until that is fixed.
Hahahahaha sorry, but I can relate 100% use coconut oil, it's healthy and it helps, then use a finger to feel all the way around the cup and it should work. The frustration is real!
For me the disc is less fiddling than the cup. With the cup I would have to do a fold then try to pop it open by applying pressure to the bottom and then twist it to make sure its open all the way. The disc is just insert and make sure the rim is up against the pubic bone
I have NEVER been able to hook my finger up under the rim. My wrist doesn't bend like that!! I always have to break the seal from the top down and then yank to pull it out. It's ALWAYS messy, which is why I always do it in the shower.
