I'm really glad that Harriet got a happy ending, she was the only other genuinely good person in the entire film aside from Duke the Crow (the only bad thing that Duke really did was steal someone's car to take a joyride with Fritz, but still). She managed to get out of her abusive relationship and became a nun. Something that's also really sweet is that she visited Fritz in the hospital for what she believed would be the final time, possibly because he was the only person who was genuinely kind to her. That scene of Fritz trying to comfort her was the only time in the entire film where he legitimately felt sorry for someone other than himself (he didn't even give Duke that same treatment when he died, he didn't even notice him and I wouldn't be surprised if he forgot all about him soon after).
This has made me see that puppets we are. Until we wake up to truth. Lies are sweet comfort, laced with cyanide. I refuse to go down that isle in the store again.
All of you have a hatred for Christianity..why you don't even know yourselves..you just can't understand one thing..the more you fight it the stronger it becomes..good night
Let it be known that Crumb wrote Fritz raping Harriet too. In fact, he said "show her no mercy". Thankfully Bakshi had some common sense. You can't have a protagonist, no matter how big a douche, be a rapist.
