By the way, it looks so CRAZY ice-sailing out of a marina in winter without a single boat around...also did not find soundtrack intrusive. It lent an air of expectancy to the boat getting up & moving out on the lake.

Very few iceboat sailing videos on here. Good for variety... do experienced ice sailors notice real benefits of crab claw config... Or about the same as other rigs?

sail can be f=1,4 smaller compared with a Bermuda and much much easier to rigg in cold weather....//PA

+2 How is the subjective feeling about the drive effectient between the crab claw and of the windsurf sail? Thanks.

you need more shape in the lower prt of the sail toward the front or bottom,,,kind of fuller down where the spars meet,,,also longer spars with a deeper cutout in . the leech so you can get the vortexs working properly,,maybe not quite so high aspect height to depth at top end of sparsand stand it up a bit more..these are cool rigs and marchaj was onto something

the rig is now raised a good bid more and much more plain. She is running fine without lifting the runners as normally with a bermuda rig. Accelerating like a -Porsche- after a gibb as funniest method to turn. Only thing is to be prepared while not able to open the sail fully as a bermuda under certain situations as running home downwinds into the harbour and empty rows of boxes because the downwind speed becomes high. It is possible to run downwinds just opened the sail to max. No fun with an open bermuda on an ice boat but with the effective vortex of a 5,4m2 Crabb Clue. All just win-win and than -gibbing- !!!!!....//PA

pulling the weight or drag by sailforce is safe stable scheme. instead of pushing from behind, when one have to compensate immediately any 0ff-centricity by steering One can compare situation of hiding behind umbrella from the wind or letting umbrella to pull you.
