Great to see you mention Cherry Gloss! I have been holding off on purchasing it waiting for a sale. But I did smell it in-store at Nordstrom and thought it was pretty cool. YES, totally marketed off of Tom Ford's Lost Cherry. But at a much better price point, lol. The large glass jars are gorgeous!
My earlier comment was apparently deleted.🙄 To paraphrase: this collection has 12 fragrances; I got 8 of them. Best is Pitanga Peach and Pineapple (not) Cilantro. The least liked were passionfruit and raspberry. I wrote reviews for all 8 of them, which can easily be found where they are purchased. IMO, blueberry was candied & milky. I repurchased only 1-Pitanga Peach, not a 2nd repurchase since the Country Candle Juicy Peach is more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing! 🫐🍑R☘️
I have 5 children (plus we raised 2 more foster children) so we never travelled much. Then my husband died suddenly. My teens recently asked when I never travel. I said it was too difficult before with so many young children, now that their dad died, we lost his income and I have to pay for their educations. One of my teens said, "If you took everything you've spent on candles in your life, you could probably tour Europe for a month." He's got a point there lol. 😂😂
You gave me a laugh, pulling that number out of your arse 😂 Sarita please rethink burning candles in a bathroom. From one who knows, they are out of sight and rarely checked and if the wicks decide to soot your walls will stain quickly. Be safe, don’t take chances. Pauline.
Summer candles are my all time favourites. I absolutely love all the fruit, and coconut, and happy drinks, and sweet sugars, and brightness, and all those things that go with summer candles. I know that 90% of people adore Fall candles and burning, but not me, no way. I actually find the Fall candles to be too "heavy" for me. All that pumpkin, and caramel, and spice, OMW, the darn spice! No, it's too much for me. 🤣. I could literally burn Spring and Summer candles all year. The only Fall type candles that I enjoy are the coffee candles, and even some of those get too rich for me. PS - I live in Johannesburg, South Africa, and I adore Amarula. It's a big thing here. We use it in our coffee, but we also make dom pedro's with it. And sometimes we just drink it on it's own. 😁
Yay for Amarula!!! And yay for coffee - you are in luck! I have 7 or 8 great coffee candles on hand and I’m going to do a review a day in September - coffee week!!
@@coffeecandles3359 Oh fantastic! I can't wait. The most recent coffee candles that I bought are from Candleberry and those have been a bit of a let down. They're just too light for my home. I can hardly smell them. So I'm looking forward to watching some review videos of coffee candles so that I know what to buy. Hugs.
I’ve been catching up on the Olympics too (RU-vid vids of Lady Gaga and Celine Dion). 😂 The only Voluspa candles I get good strength/throw from are the 3 wick tins, but I don’t really love the aesthetic of them while they’re burning. I kind of think they could use a redo of their vessels. Don’t get me started on Kringle but I’m loving your two scents bahaha. Hope your weekend is being fab sis 😀💜🕯️
Sometimes you find a rare gem at kohls with their Sanoma candle. The cinnamon spice cookie one is phenomenal & I enjoy the apple spice candle too. Good performance.
Here in Europe they have almost no scents in the old school jars and I hate this soy wax, it has a scent to it as it burns, I can smell the wax burning and I don't like it. I used to love the parafin wax but at this point I'm just not buying their candles anymore.
Yeah the pickings are slim for you guys in Europe - I feel so bad for you! Yankee has been running the old-school paraffin into the ground, and I too dislike the soy 🤷🏻♀️
I never had problems with Yankee’s wax melts performing. (The candles as we know can be a different story.) Maybe it was something with that peach scent that didn’t work. I have 24 watt wax warmers that are element/hot plate type and tea light ones that gets wax throwing fragrance. Their outlets have a lot of interesting and old fragrances, but I’ve also had performance issues sometimes from the candles and stuff I bought there.
Totally agree about Village Secluded Dunes, just finished burning one and mine wasn’t totally scentless but very light, it was so disappointing bc the scent is amazing!! It used to be called Rio Carnivale so if you happen to be able to find one of those old candles online somewhere they performed much better than the rebranded Secluded Dunes 🤷🏻♀️
Great video! I so agree with your opinions on the Country candles. I feel a certain kind of way, too. It's so disheartening that some brand ambassadors just won't stop campaigning to discontinue the line, with no consideration for customers. More disheartening that some ambassador's opinions are so much important to the brand than 100's of customers combined. That kind of inequality is very upsetting. I wish Kringle would do customer polling a couple of times a year. 💜
Yes to keep burning summer! I burn summer through Labor Day because it is still hot and I don’t want pumpkin spice or hot apple cider nothing in my life while it is in the 90s and 100s daily here. I am so looking forward to your summer legacy video! We have all had that type of Secluded Dunes disappointment . Candles that burn with no throw but you can smell them on cold is the most annoying.
Girl check out the Beetlejuice collaboration at goose creek, I don’t know if they smell good but the scent descriptions seem interesting and up your alley think moonlight graveyard from Bath & Body Works lol I know you like that one!!!
I’ll bet I would! Unfortunately, I’m allergic to (at least some) Goose Creek candles, and their Customer Service team can’t be bothered to help me figure out which ones or why 🤷🏻♀️
I have the collection as well being from Columbus, Ohio! I have been told that these are the last ones they have and they won’t be restocked anymore after these are sold & I’ve also seen they aren’t gonna be part of the single price sales anymore either! I’ve also seen them at the Hamilton Rd store I believe
Girl, I bought three of the coconut milkshakes and oh my God you aren’t kidding. I could barely smell it like at all!!! why do they do that? Shit just don’t release it at all lol I just gave them away. I tried burning it twice.
The PUMPKIN SMORES !! Is AWESOME!! It is like a marshmellowey. graham crackery, buttery( lol) Dream!! My husband who hardly ever comments when i burn candles ( ALWAYS) said ..Awow,,,What are yoy burning??? I WANT at least 4 more and i have 2 ..lol..cant wait to burn day at cafe ♥️
I have this one and curious about its burn, maybe next year I'll pull it out and burn it. Had too many Christmas candles to choose from lol. Happy burning.
I love your passion! I agree, when I first smelled this when it came out.. I was like, 😮 what is this? There is an expectation when you name a candle, plaster pictures all over the thing and smell it and it is NOTHING like your brain tells you it should be or hoping for. I’ve never burned this one, but it does sound interesting. Excellent review!
Fully agree with this review! I’ve bought this scent several times because it’s beautiful, but the throw is atrocious and the marketing makes no sense. The scent has a very soft and cozy vibe, which is the *only* reason the branding of “movie night cocoa” fits at all to me, but they could have done so much better with this! It’s really imperfect but I’m still sad they’re retiring it, hopefully they introduce something with a similar scent in the future.
I hate the inconsistency with B&BWs candles. I own that packaging of Freshly Brewed Coffee and mine throws and burns great. Funnily enough, my roommate down the hall asked if that was a candle I was burning or if I just made some coffee. I told her it was a candle and she was like “Woooow” lol
It does seem like Yankee sets up their candles to fail a lot of times. For instance all their new three wick fall candles in core fragrances and Halloween all have floral labels even though flowers have nothing to do with the fragrances. I wonder what the decision making process for that decision was. Did they have a meeting and they all had the consensus that what epitomizes autumn most in a design perspective is flowers, because doesn’t everyone think of flowers first when they think of Halloween and fall.
Artwork on single wicks is definitely worth talking about! Some of 'em are gorgeous...and the plus is that they don't last 50 years so you can actually burn through them fast! lol
