Hi, I'm Karaleise. On this channel I will share tips in the Business Analysis and IT spaces and give you ideas on how to work smarter as a Business Analyst. We will discuss the agile methodology, agile scrum and their ceremonies including agile sprints, agile retrospective, Jira and other software tools, how to write user stories and how to manage an agile team. We will also talk about waterfall methodology including how to write Business Requirements Documents, how to elicit requirements, how to do project documentations and how to manage stakeholders.
This will be a great place if you are a new graduate or if you are already working as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager or IT Project Manager, Quality Assurance Engineer. It will be great if you are looking to transition as a Business Analyst from another career as well. Hope to provide useful practical tips that you can start using right away. Check out my website at www.karaleise.com for more resources. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. There are quite a number of ways. You dont have to pretend to be a senior BA but you do have to practice interview skills for the BA role. Watch this video for more on this: ru-vid.comGyZcSd83oT0
Awesome advice. I'm at the stage where I need to fix my resume to align with my entry level BA role that i need. I have learnt the basics but have no experience yet but I know I can deliver if given a chance
Yes makes sense. Here is a video with some solutions but there are much more - I just can't teach you everything in 60 seconds. Watch this: ru-vid.comGyZcSd83oT0
A friend of mine did this with an animation job landed senior position years ago. Busted his ass and now works for himself and is able to hire people. He is now in the top 3% earners in his industry 🤷🏾♂️. Sometimes you just have to take that chance to come out of a situation.
I don't know about Animator jobs because that's talent he probably already had and with the software tools he could excel. I am in the field of analysis - how are you going to wing that at a senior level?
@@karaleise anyone can learn and some people are amazing at learning and retaining information on the fly. You could have experience in one field that could relate to another in some way and make a smooth transition. I think you underestimated peoples ability to learn and grow. You seem to have a very linear way of thinking. Let me guess you think college and school is your only way to progress further in this world? A sheet of paper should never be the determining factor when deciding how fit someone is for a job. I think our system is pretty screwed and needs some reworking.
So i always speak to my abilities and professionalism where this is unnecessary but i love the idea of breaking down when I'll have updates PRIOR to micro managing.
Glad you found us!!! Also checkout the website especially these articles for interview prep: karaleise.com/?s=interview+prep. Success in your interview tomorrow!
Hi thanks for watching. As long as you have the thinking and the techniques for the BA role, you can transition. You’ll have to change your mindset though, don’t see being over 40 as old or a disadvantage - see it as an advantage because you will have years of work experience that you can transfer to the BA role! Hope that helps! Book a consultation on www.karaleise.com for more help to start your BA career!
At 7:24, you mentioned that as a BA, you have to ensure architects build projects based on Product Mangers objectives, does that mean you are playing the role of a SCRUM Master?
Hi thanks for watching. What I said was as the BA, you have to be the middle person between the business and the architects so that they don’t build things in the architecture that goes against the product owner’s requirements for the business. It is the BA’s job to make sure the architects are clear on the requirements. This is not playing the role of a scrum master.
Companies appreciate questions at the end or if you elevator pitch yourself in terms of any studies for certifications or if you just finished a related course. I always take at least four questions/statements.
Don't listen to this woman. A good company does not let HR or recruiters do the interviews. They only select resumes. The biggest and best companies don't let someone like her near any interviewee, so that she says she can pick up on it is just because she works at a subpar company and thus she does not get the best people anyways.
Hi, i love the videos and have been following along your courses.. Could you just answer one question for me though please to give me full total clarity? From start to finish, in order, what are the steps + documents to be done by the BA (just a quick summary if you dont mind) Thanks!
I've applied for and interviewed for a few Business Analyst jobs and they require data engineering skills. They want ETL experience with SSRS Python, etc.
Never lied on my resume. Always enhancing my skills. Haven't been able to get a job for the last 5 years. 200K in debt. I have a bachelors and masters degree in business marketing. I'm going to lie on my resume and I'll keep you guys posted to see if I can even get a simple entry-level position.
Thanks for watching. There is a lot to unpack here. You are upskilling + you have higher education but you never been able to land a job in 5 years??? 5 years ago the job market was much different. The problem is not solved by lying. Please book a call with me www.karaleise.com
