Each month we start out nice and easy and go from there so there is something for every skill level to practice. I mostly keep the livestreams accessible to just about every skill level so we can work together. And even if the song of month gets too hard for you can go back and start one of the countless other lesson packages. A bit for everyone :)

“All dominant chords can be diminished chords.” 😮🤯 so I can substitute e major with e dim? E dim is so easy 0101! I’m’a going to find some song that uses e maj and try this right now! TY! (Edit I was wrong, see below, just in case someone sees this and thinks I was on to something)
@Banjoleletinman
@Banjoleletinman 13 дней назад
Not for E, that is a major chord, but for E7 (effectively making it E7b9). For E major Try putting your fingers down as if you’re playing an E7 but letting up the pressure on the C string muting it. That will give you a nice easy E major chord

I really like your intro for “I’m gonna sit right down…” and try to figure it out. Ok, it’s in the key of C instead of Bb as the version you played some years ago. Unfortunately it’s not possible to slow down these shorts. So it heart for me to figure out your playing. Any chance to get help from you?
@Banjoleletinman
@Banjoleletinman 17 дней назад
This is the intro from the 1935 Fats Waller recording (in his key none the less) it is essentially C to Am and then an F augmented chord ascending a whole tone scale. Over on my website at the Magic ukulele Club there’s a five part lesson on this tune and arrangement including the intro, chord melody and chord subs

I have a feeling these are useful videos but don't quite get the sense of them... Can you explain please? Do i have to play the chord progression or arpeggios? Or is it for improvisation??
@Banjoleletinman
@Banjoleletinman 26 дней назад
Three choruses of the tune - once melody - once arpeggios - once chords. This is about learning a song in all twelve keys, the melody, chords, as well as understanding the harmony through individual chord tones. The goal is to truly learn the song musically as opposed to learning one arrangement. In the end it is really a study in all 12 keys without simply running scales up and down but putting it in a musical context. here's a playlist with everything in order: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FAAOy7vSQi0.htmlsi=PFH-etvI8oNJ4c_e
