Ich habe tatsächlich sehr viel AoE 2 gespielt und es ist ein sehr gutes Spiel, das imo auch für High-Level-Competitive besser ausgelegt ist, aber was die Mechanics und den Charm angeht, gewinnt Stronghold für mich immer.
Firefly should remaster this masterpiece with far bigger map lik 1000x1000 or 2000, outpost/logistic for long seige, and natural event wich could effect the troops morals, vigger enemy attack like 3 wolf attacking you at the same time😂, and auto market from later game
I love how all the peasants are seemingly voiced by the same guy doing his best to sound like different people. Gives this game so much charm. Plus, the fact that its a good wargame *and* a good economic game is just crazy.
i am a console gamer but i have had a single game installed on my laptop before on my pc as well now I am in university haven't played or own a console here when ever i am a little bit tired i play it ITS called stronghold crusader.

Hell ya. I remember playing Stronghold on my shitbox PC back in the day. The sounds of the crossbow men cranking up their crossbows is burnt into my brain. Same with The Snake saying " Trust me..."
Very good video :) Only thing that is pity is that Stronghold DE is without skirmish AI as far as I know. I dont own the game yet, I have it on wishlist but I read the comments. Thats why Im not sure about buying it - you will complete campaign, then DLC campaigns and then I would like to play agains AI and that will not happen. I know there still is PvP but Im not that good player and I hate to rush - I would rather play against easier AI and chill you know. But beside this minus, game is really good I agree ;) Imagine lotr bfme 2 definitive edition :D I would buy that without hesitation :)
I always had this game in mind but never found it again. I would never have guessed that it was a Buzz Light game. It used to be one of my favorite games. thanks for bringing back a great memory
i found your channel yesterday i am really surprised how such a small channel can have such a good quality. You really have better quality than most of the big youtubers I watch. Songs of syx has been on my list for a while but like you I was put off at first. I think I'll have to give the game another chance. I only played the tutorial and was a bit overwhelmed because I hardly ever play games like this. I also want to play Remnant but I have to find enough time first. I still have too many other games on my list. I'm currently thinking about making youtube videos in the future. How do you do that with the recordings? Do you just fire up software like OBS and record hours of gameplay and then edit out the few minutes you need later?

It depends, sometimes I know I want to do a video about a game and record a full playthrough with OBS, for others I always have Shadowplay running so I can capture the last 10mins if something cool happened I want to talk about. I then categorize them on an external hdd so I can find everything when its time to make a video.
Varied economic options, units mention specific things that affect their happiness, over the top goofy computer opponents, lots of variety in how you build your castle, it's no wonder why people who have played Stronghold Crusader keep coming back after 20+ years even with so many well-known RTS games available. Started with buying a little $10 PC game I had never heard of that I didn't have to put in the computer after it was installed. That's a lot of bang for your buck. Terrific game.
Honestly I can't think of any - apart from the other Stronghold games. It might be worth checking out Manor Lords, Foundation, Diplomacy is not an option etc, but none of these are really the same.
Wow, I've watched the video till the end and i was like how did i miss this, i thought i was already subscribed to all OG Stronghold creators but it looks like a new OG is coming out, like seriously i wouldve never guessed this aweasome video is from a sub-1k channel, your presentation, writing and editing are exceptional, you deserve 100k subs at the very least!
That cursor for CS just a must make idea! About our beloved Stronghold Crusader: It`s pure nostalgia for me. Used to play in my teenage years, but back then I wasn`t such a good player. Some years earlier I`ve got on Steam for cheap and without hesitation I`ve bought it. Well, important thing to say, most of our childhood games lives in our memories and only nostalgia makes them good. If you play today them, it won`t be the same. But this gem is different. I played lately all of the 80 skirmishes and the historical campaigns. When I`m finished them I`ve just felt empty. I want more! If this game comes out now and not more than 20 years ago, it`s still would be a contender to other RTS`s.
I also think Stronghold is great and underrated. I tried showing a friend who has played a lot of Age of empires and other RTS games. He was so incredibly negative and close minded, and didnt even try to enjoy the game. I dont get his problem. I think I just need better friends. Stronghold & Crusader are flawed gems, but gems nontheless.
My favourite things in this game was maxing the food rations and placing couple bars and good things so i can max out the taxes to recruit 500 horse archers.
Stronghold and Crusaider are by far one of my most played RTS games i still have the original cds. I like the first one just for the atmosphere and the cusaider for its skirmishes. I only play the campain or just skrimishes against ai but its all that i need. I prefere to play vanilla since i dont like some changes from unoffical patch.
I started playing Slay the Spire this year and it got it's hooks into me pretty deep haha Very addictive rouge like card game, that's one I can def vouch for Ring of Pain is similar, but the runs and combat is faster paced (you still go at your own pace since its turn based). One of the best card battler rogue likes I've ever played!
yes, but. for the HD version they should have added bulk unit training. and one click popularity or just on the side where there is more space and castle buildings and siege buildings should have their own tabs instead of 2 clicks you only need 1, there's plenty of space in the UI. such simple tweaks would make the game 99% perfect
