They are good axes but this company is a proud member of the agenda 2030. This is why i never will buy an axe from them.

No, we say the West has the best axes because we determine an axes worth based off of its performance, not it's country of origin. No one cares for American axes exclusively becuse they're made in America. We driere American wars based off of performance. Gransfors are exclusively made for very small circumference, green, soft woods. Think populars and young pines. It's obvious given the dimensions of Swedish axe heads, with the very steep head, narrow bit and cheeks. Meanwhile American axes are built for multi faceted performance, and for felling large, hardwood with their wider heads, and wedge shaped cheeks. American axes are far more versatile, while Swedish axes are only good for limbing.

Erik Blixt also forged my outdoor axe :) It is a beautiful multipurpose tool.

This is the first and only video that I can find where anyone says whether it fits or not with the multimount. I even had shops tell me that they don't fit together, yet I clearly see here that they do.. Thanks!

Quick update. I now own the knife and I can say that the survival kit does fit on the multimount! Good luck everyone!

Condor makes excellent stuff. Pairing it with a hatchet or boy's axe is a great idea and it's what I do. It's definitely a scandivex as opposed to a convex or true scandinavian. God bless you sir.

What do the different numbers mean on Rangergrip knives? 74,78 and so on?

Well, the species of trees you were splitting, chopping, whatever are all soft. What happens when you try that with harder wood like oak, hickory, ash, ironwood or even hard yellow pines like what have in the southeastern US?

Fantastic review of the Gransfors Bruk axes. If you had to pick only one for camping, chopping and bushcraft, which do you feel would be best?

Great vid. You are only supposed to cut on the pull stroke with these saws. The blades are expensive as you know. That will avoid bending the blade.

The SFA will cut fine but not as fast as one of my chainsaws, Stihl of course. I did not like the finish on my SFA, so I refinished it with boiled linseed oil. Beeswax and paraffin are not my favorite wood finishes.

Agreed, the Gran Fors Bruk axes are the best. I only have one, the Small Forest Axe. I am going to get a Scandinavian Forest Axe when funds are available, just to have it. I have about ten axes and they are all serviceable, so I really don’t need another axe. Matthias Blitz made my SFA.

Hi Thor, I have the 240 with the sheath but I never carry it on my belt, always in my pack (it,s too bulky on the belt). I'm thinking about the 200 to buy. Can I use the 240 sheath for the 200? That would reduce my price. Is it practical and possible to use the 240 sheath to carry the 200 on my belt? Or does that not make sense (is it too large, not comfortable)? Thanks and kind regards, Alain

Hi there! Is Hultafora Hultan axe capable of carving and detail chopping for woodcrafting?
@gpietra

Hi! Do you often find yourself chop logs with a knife instead of an hatchet? I am just starting out with bushcraft and I've yet to understand if it's manageable in the long run (of course an hatchet/axe would chop logs better). I do some casual bushcraft, not hardcore survival at all.

Nice useful review. Just be careful wearing open footwear. I have learned (the hard way) that knives love falling on your toes. 😑

That knife isn’t intended for chopping, other than that, this is all the knife you’ll ever need.

Your review is outstanding and also the axe is. But the price is absurd: in Italy, where I live, it costs Euro 170,00. All in all it's just a piece of steel hammer forged with a handle of wood and the total cost of the raw material is under Euros 10,00. I have a Rinaldi, made in Italy, small axe very similar at the cost of about Euro 35,00 and it performs wonderfully. How can justify such enormous difference?

Very good review. I have a Mora companion, I think it's called, and it's a very good knife considering I only paid $12 for it. Definitely can put some more expensive knives to shame. Making fire with birch bark is almost cheating (lol). There's not much of it where I live, and only some further north.
